  • I bring you along for the 50 hr. service on my Kioti subcompact tractor. This service includes engine oil change as well as hydraulic and transmission filter changes. I also swap out the oil in the front end differential. To access this all I also remove the front end loader and learn a few things in the process.

    I really like how you don’t edit out every misstep. Often times, these instructional videos are so curated, you end up making mistakes that were probably edited out. Great video and I’ll be doing my 50 hour soon!

    I have a CS2510 and when I change or top off my hydraulic fluid I use a cheap battery operated fluid transfer pump. It runs off of two "D" cell batteries. They have squeeze bulb types also but I like the battery. The suction and discharge tubes are about 1/2". Just put the inlet tube in your jug of fluid and the other in the fill port and push the button. This is clean and no mess way to do it. It is great for just topping off. Harbor Freight sells them for about $10-$15 and they are called transfer pumps. I have also seen them in Walmart. I have one just for the Kioti and another to fill my kerosine heater. Hope this helps someone.

    My hydrologic fittings have color zip ties on them, might of been my dealer, or factory, but they really help make things easy for reassembly.
    Also grease every fitting every time you can!
    Great videos my dealer charged me 500 for this service.

      I ended up putting some colored tape on them to help keep them straight. I grease every 10 hours as the manual states to do. Has been working out pretty well that way. Thanks for stopping in and watching, glad you enjoyed the videos!

    It said to change only the filters but I found a lot of people said to drop the hyd oil because of metal shaving.
    Everything I changed had metal particles in the oil
    I was horrified

    I’m not sure if you figured it out by now but it’s best to take off the loader with the bucket on and then you use the dump and curl function to lift the loader frame up up off the brackets there’s actually a nice video here somewhere

    Front axle fluid change is 400 hours is what the dealer told me? Is that right?

    • @timbervisions
      @timbervisions  Год назад +1

      It may be, refer to your owners manual. If you did not get one, tell your dealer to get you one. The reason I changed mine at 50 hours was because I wanted to get gear oil in there instead of hydraulic fluid as it comes from the factory. Best of luck to you!

    Just awaiting delivery of a new 2520 so these finding these videos is very appreciated! Curious though, why would you change the hydraulic filters and not the fluid, and why switch to 90w from hydraulic in the front axle ? Have you noticed any difference since changing it ?

    • @timbervisions
      @timbervisions  3 месяца назад

      The maintenence schedule called for filters only until the 200 hour. As far as switching to 90W on the front axle is to reduce chances of seals going out. From my research and feedback from other owners, when they switched to 90W oil the seals lasted longer. Those who kept using hydraulic fluid had more issues with seals leaking. Not a big deal, but reducing down time is never a bad idea. Glad my videos have been helpful. Hopefully this explanation was as well.

    Where do you check the Transmission fluid levels? The filter is the big one under the tractor right ? You lost some when you changed it but did you add more ?

    • @timbervisions
      @timbervisions  Год назад +2

      Yes, you are correct, I lost couple quarts on the filter change. There are two hydraulic filters and I believe the bigger one is the main hydraulic filter, the smaller one is the hydrostatic filter. They share the same reservoir of fluid, so there is only one level to watch and it's the one at the back of the tractor. I believe I showed that in the video, but I've slept a few times since I posted this one. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for stopping in!

      @@timbervisions I've had my CS2220 for a month now, but I'll have a while yet before my 50hr service. I really appreciate your video and clarifying this with the two filters because the manual is not very clear on that section in regards to topping off fluids. I don't believe it states anywhere that they share a reservoir. I'm totally new to tractors so this all helps me out a lot. Thanks again!
