Thanks for the suggestion. However your solution is a workaround that would lead to lots of problems in my workflow, not to mention the extra work and steps involved. I cannot get my loft to thicken. I extrude it as a solid and try the thicken option. I also extrude it as a surface and try the 3D offset command with fill. Neither works. I'm still trying to find an acceptable work around, but for now I am stuck. I wish the developers of freecad could figure out how to fix this serious limitation.

Interesting video. I haven't used Part's 3D Offset much so I experimented with the various options using version 0.21. I found that if I changed "Join type" to 'Intersection' as well as select 'Fill offset' it seemed to successfully make a solid.
EDIT: I imported your 'Surface Pre-Thicken-Surface.step' file into FreeCAD for my experiments.

Hi, thank you for a video. Can you make a video how to simulate the flow in the Laval nozzle one day?

    Interesting video - thank you.
Off topic - you appear to still be running 0.19 rather than 0.20.x (or maybe too new 0.21.0) - may I ask why?

I'm currently running .21. This video somehow didn't go live on its intended date so it was released late.

It's not a solution, it's a workaround. Now imagine when you will create approximate shape of the blade, make it thick solid body, and then adjust some tiny element and you will have to redo whole process again. All the blades then central part, holes, fillets, everything. I hoped you found a solution for that.
