My first job was at Maccas as well. It was a tough experience for me. I only lasted 4 months. At least when I quit, one of the managers did say I was a good worker. Now I realise that is wonderful feedback because today’s managers can criticise easily but find it hard to compliment.

    • @FyzeeNauman

A little compliment goes a long way! Managers need to realize this.

I been working at McDonald's for 1 month and the General Manager says I'm a great worker. Along with almost every other regular manager. @@FyzeeNauman

I was working at McDonald's either and miss the times with some of my colleagues.
I'm still in touch with them even more in a friendship and with one of them, I'm going to fly on holiday with him.

    This seems all too common.
I had a part time job at a bowling centre and petrol station during my uni days and same deal -- the managers enjoyed making life miserable for everyone and would go out of their way to be mean to staff because they could. It was like a power trip kind of thing.
Thankfully I've found leaders in my professional career have been a lot better.

I've had the same experience, leaders in the corporate space generally tend to be a lot better. People usually just get exploited in those entry level jobs that you do while at uni 🥲

Im 18 months into this job now and now a Trainer, quitting once I get my 2 years of work experience, Sunday at 2am is the worse time to work since we're in the heart of a busy city and have loads of drunk customers coming in from a bunch of closing pubs, 3am often leaves a lot of dejected faces on the crew, its haunting when its happening but funny in hindsight XD

I just had my first day after getting laid off from my electrician job. I legitimately want to cry. I have never felt so pathetic weaing that uniform. When you played those frier noises, i legit had a reaction to them. I fucking hate this. The smell of all the oil made me sick. My feet hurt worse than they ever had working 12 hour days walking, climbing, and running around the job site. The worst part: i have to do this bullshit all over again tomorrow.

In the future, you'll look back on this period of your life and be glad that you stayed resilient & strong. I hope you're able to find another job quickly!
