Time away as a couple is good for your relationship, and for your son time with grandparents is precious. I’m so grateful I spent a lot of time with my grandparents. My Mum was widowed when I was 8 months old and had to return to work when I was two. My grandparents stepped up and looked after me. Precious memories indeed. I didn’t spend that much time with my Mum when I was little, but that had an unexpected result. We spent more time together when I was a teenager, so I got close to my Mum just at the time when most of my friends were rebelling against their parents. My Mum and I became very close. She was my best friend until I met my husband, then I had two best friends. Family time is precious.
Remember, you are not only doing it for yourself but also for Nana. Noah needs time away from you to build a strong bond with Nana and other family members ❤️
Yes, so true! It’s such a beautiful part of parenthood that we hadn’t really thought about so much before.. but it is so wonderful to see him forming these beautiful attachments to other people and spreading even more love 🥰
Completely agree! The bond between my children and my parents in-laws was a joy of parenthood that I didn’t quite expect! And it’s so much stronger when you get out of the picture sometimes!
It’s true, Noah’s Grammy needs time with him, not even to mention how much Noah needs time with Grammy😘 It’s a win/win situation for all! You guys are in my daily prayers, may God heal your eye Alex & bless each of you & keep you all in His loving care🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
We had four kids and have been married almost 50 years. We always went away without kids on our anniversary for a night or two, and then later some longer trips. Absolutely loved our kids and spending time with them but also knew how important it was for us as a couple to have time together too.
My husband and I celebrated 37 years of marriage in August. We have 5 children and always had date night once every month. We always celebrate our anniversary with a long weekend trip. Keeping your relationship close is imperative for your family! Make time for just each other. Your family will stay stronger!!❤
Speaking from experience here beans. I never wanted to leave the children. My relationship suffered but it kinda creeps on you so you don’t realise. Make time. Because a happy child is a child who sees mum and dad loving each other as a couple not just as a family x
The two of you getting away together every now and then is a good thing for both of you. Gives the both of you time to focus on yourselves and your relationship. Love the video and I love your B&B.
As a mom of two, you should do this more often. I hardly ever get away, but when I do I come back to my kids happier and more rested. I am happy for you that you have a Nana to watch your little one.
Occasional weekend breaks in nature for just the two you . Good idea 👍How about the occasional date night too , but we don't need to be there for that . 🥂 Felt more relaxed myself after watching this . Please do more . Sorry to hear about your eye Alex .But your attitude is so heartening . 😊
I think it is healthy for Parents to have a break and a date night once in a while, a couple's massage / spa day ( Self care) is important, and little Noah and Nanna had some quality time together too. Prayers for your eye 🙏
Emma, your smile in this video says it all! You 100% need to start having some "you" time! Whether with Alex or not! Taking care of yourself only helps you to better care for your boys! Its Not selfish either! I know Moms across the world feel it is, it truly isn't! Your whole face relaxed! You are a beautiful Mummy & woman! Dancing to your own tune isnt an embarrassing moment, its the moment a woman was having feeling free, loved, & uninhibited! Dance often Emma! Great video!
I love how Emma seemed so pleased with your surprise. It’s so very thoughtful and needed for both parents to unplug and then reboot! Made me smile throughout. ❤❤
🤍🍏🫖 Oh my dear Emma and Alex, I love your channel so much you make me laugh from the beginning of it to the end of it. Rarely do I find someone that can make me laugh the way I make other people laugh. Alex has raised the bar.😂🎉 I was happy when Trent and Allie introduced Sara and Luca to their subscribers and now I feel blessed that Sara and Luca have paid forward and introduced both of you. Both of you and your beautiful baby brings so much joy to my life and for that I’m grateful. I pray that you will find information that will lead you down the path of your eye being healed. Much love and many blessings to you and your family. Keep doing what you do and being who you are.
Not seen you two for ages , you really got this lonely old bloke through t he lockdown , you are just the same natural lovely couple (one with a dodgy eye) that you always were. Be nice to each other and that lovely boy. Cheers, Adrian

You're very lucky to have family who will look after Noah, it's good for you all, enjoy. After 14 years my wife and I have still not been able to spend a night together away from our children and it's unlikely to happen for another 7-8 years, so please enjoy it for us too. I love your videos, they bring happiness and honesty.
"Tippsy-tippsy-tippsy". I loved that. 🙂 As a single mother of three (many years ago; my boys are all grown up now), I say hats off to taking much-needed time away from the little one. It rejuvenates you both and teaches him a little self-sufficiency at the same time.
Oh Beans…do your life and we will come along when you invite us. I loved this video of you two so much. You don’t have to go far and wide at all. Seeing what the UK has to offer close to your home is lovely! And seeing you enjoy each other, have a chance to relax is a wonderful blessing! Cheers 😊
So happy that you treated yourselves to some adult "alone" time! The cottage looks lovely and nothing beats a hottub for relaxing! Good for the soul and good for the marriage!!
@@TravelBeans love you guys!!! so happy for your new home in the life you’re building together. I hope a new baby being is on the way as does everyone else! Lol.
It would be nice to see you get away alone. It makes you stronger and rejuvenate yourselves. So deeply sorry about your eye Alex. May a miracle happen and may it heal❤️
Such a wonderful thing to do for your wife. Things like this really show how much you care. You knew what she would like and found a great spot. Letting Noah spend time with others is good for all of you. As a grandmother, I can't tell you how lovely it is to have my grandson here with my husband and I alone for a few days. It's fun for us and him, and Mom and Dad get some much-needed alone time. This strengthens your marriage, in my opinion. My grandson is now 7 and he begs to be able to come stay with us for a few days alone without Mom and Dad. Hubby and I are outdoor lovers. We RV as often as possible. I loved the cabin and love watching your channel.
So lovely to see you both having a bit of special time together. Really loved this episode. Love Noah too.. don’t get me wrong, but yes, it was just like the old days and so nice to see you both get a much needed restorative break. It’s very important. Hope the eye gets better/bearable Alex.
I used to do this with my hubby when my girls were little every 2mo getaways and I left my kids with Nana. It’s good for continuing a happy marriage. Alex I have faith and praying you will heal from your eye and reverse the permanent damage. Eat food that heal the eyes. Love your videos❤
A well deserved break, it’s good for the soul and well-being. Also great for Noah, grandparents relationships can be so beautiful, I sure am lucky to have my grandson to love.
Just to say Alex! My hubby got a nasty injury by some fast moving raspberry wire that had been cut without warning. Hubby got poked just beside his pupil and had to be rushed to the eye specialists! We were married two months when this happened! We are people who pray and my husband miraculously had his vision restored! He uses reading glasses now at 66 but apart from that he did not need any other intervention! It happened just months before his 29th bday! Years later I was the nursing assistant to that same specialist's parents! I thanked him personally! Miracles still happen today! xo from the West Coast of Canada!
💗Hi Beans! Do whatever works for you and your family. I would watch you either way! Wishing good health for your eye with hopes that it eventually resolves by itself.💗
I loved this video of just the two of you. And, yes, it was very much like old times. I think it's very healthy for Mother and Daddy to be gone a day or two every few months. It's good for the two of you, and it's a wonderful time for the grandparents as well. Please do it again!
Love this video of just you guys and also love seeing Noah! I think a good healthy combo would be fabulous. I think if you guys film what you feel is right it will be what we all enjoy 😊 so glad Noah is forming bonds, socializing and all the love is being shared. Such a special time in your lives ❤️ lovely to see you all as always! Glad you guys got some much needed relaxation. Thanks though for all your work taking us along on your journey, as always!
Blessing on you both, your family and Alex eye. Love your travel vlogs and it is good to see you out with each other. The mix of family, renovation and travel is enjoyable. Liked just the two of you out exploring that was refreshing as well. 💛🧡🤎
I think that it’s wonderful that you were prioritizing getting away together. It is so vital to maintain your relationship and your overall well-being. I certainly wouldn’t mind more videos where you get away just the two of you.
Borneo looks like an awesome trip to go on with the Beans!!! I wish I could go but can't. The cabin with the grass roof was adorable and I enjoyed seeing the wild horses! Hope your eye continues to heal Alex and it's nice to see you two taking some time to have a quiet get away.
So glad you had such lovely weather to really enjoy where you were staying. Hope that Alex’s eye sight isn’t too affected and good that therapy has helped dealing with it.
Hi tipsy Beans!! So sorry about your permanent eye injury, but you are still adorable. I was worried about you being in Sicily with a volcano explosion or something horrible, so very relieved to see you having fun.
Really sorry to hear that the damage to your eye is permanent Alex 😢 What a lovely idea to have a night or two away to recharge…we once stayed in a beautiful safari ( aka glamping ) tent in Lancashire …it was rainy when we arrived and so cosy with the sound of the rain on the tent…but the next morning I realised the sound was from the nearby motorway and incessant!
My husband and I went away for 4 days without children once a year. Our 2 daughters stayed with relatives. We've been married 47 years this last July. And, yes we still like and love each other.
How lovely for you two to just have some time together at a very romantic getaway. I'm sure it was good for your souls even though you missed little Noah xxx
Lovelies, please take another trip for just the two of you, without bringing us Bean fans along. This was a very sweet video, but alone time can be JUST for you, too! (And Alex - Alan??? - I’m sorry you got bad news about the eye. But you’re in good company, no less than David Bowie had the same thing. No word on whether olives were involved though.) Be well all three!
So nice! As for the traffic noise, I live off of a busy road and 3 blocks from a 6 lane highway. I try to pretend the noise is the ocean. Sometimes it works for a little while
Alex, please get yourself a pair of glasses that provide tinted protection on the sides (Solar Shades) or true wrap around ones. Also, you may find you will also need to wear them on cloudy days as well. Finally, get a good quality pair of yellow driving glasses. You need to protect your eyesight from vehicle lights at night as well.
Oh Alex, that really sucks. I actually did have a retinal detachment in my left eye when I was 23, which was 14 years ago now. Sometimes my pupil takes a while to reduce or increase in size and it is so weird when it happens. So I feel for you! But I commend you for taking your health seriously and getting checked immediately in Italy. It's crazy what damage one little olive can do!
A little get away strengthens your relationship, and makes you better parents so please continue this. Also it gives Noah time with Nana and a little independence too. 💞
So glad you enjoyed yr time away together, its good for Noah to spend time with Nana aswell. The New Forest is beautiful, where abouts was that lovely pub you went to ? Love watching you on yr adventures 💖😊
I love that you guys did this for yourselves. It’s so important to still be a couple, along with being parents. ❤❤ My husband and I didn’t travel together, as we had no one else to take care of our son for extended periods. But, he supported me going on a couple trips with friends when my son was a toddler. It was cathartic, and I appreciated it so much! His get aways was camping with friends….Mine were Chicago, Ohio, San Diego…
I am so glad.... you two got to get away....Adult time is needed and healthy. To Stay good 'Friends' takes Time, Energy and Commitment. (and planning) > Enjoy each other NOW, do not wait until your son is grown. > The cabin with the Grass....too Fun!
I had shingles earlier this year, and it infected my left eye retina. I lost vision completely in that eye, and although my retina is now healthy, there's so much debris and haze in the vitreous fluid from the infection that my vision is still impaired. Alex, i totally understand how you feel when going outside, or waking up with the realization that you will never see the world as others do.
That looked like a really nice place! Solitude. You'll get used to the eye, Al. It happened. Part of life. Play the hand you're dealt but learn from it. I've had seven major eye injuries including a torn retina. All different situations. Well...kind of. Bean on!
This is so good for both of you ! I haven’t seen the two of you so stress free for so long. You should do a video every month doing something stress free together even if just for the day. I have two grown kids and we didn’t do even time just the two of us and I wish we had done much more of it.
Glad you had a restful time away. It reminded me how much I enjoyed watching your van life videos. They were an inspiration to us when we first had a camper van. 🚐 You should definitely have a trip away in your van again. Noah looks like he had a great time with his Nana too 😍
Yes! More grown up time for the beans! You both look so relaxed, happy and refreshed and that can only be good for Noah, too. Plus, it's important not to get lost in parenting and to take time to nurture your marriage - after all, you are newlyweds! :)
To be honest it is enjoyable seeing a video of the two of you alone again I have gotten use to the family videos . The way Noah causes innocent problems is great . Thank y’all for sharing what you share
I so loved this video, makes the heart so happy to see a couple enjoy one another like this. I lost my husband, but I have wonderful memories just like this💗
That reunion was so sweet to capture on video! Ant the whole video was interesting. Never heard of New Forest so I did a bit of research. Fun to see it with you. Sorry about the eye man. Glad you can still use it anyway!
I'm sorry about your vision Alex! I wrote a long comment in the last post about my mom if you are able to find it. The damage sucks but on the bright side: you still have your full vision, your iris doesn't look super off or damaged to a random person! It could be even worse. Thank goodness you don't need a prosthetic eye like my mom. Sending my best to you guys! ❤
It does work out for all of you and it's really good for just your marriage and your relationship. I had 4 kids and getting away with my husband was always a good thing.Because we have to remember who we are together because you are the foundation of your home, And you guys are fun. Be blessed look forward to next time❤❤
I feel you with the altered vision thing, I had a bunch of retinal tears in one eye and then a vitreous hemorrhage in the other. Had a bunch of surgeries to fix the tears and there’s nothing to be done about the hemorrhage. I now have so many floaters - spots, things that look like flies and tarantulas, and sheets of grey tissue paper that are varying degrees of transparency, and for one of the surgeries I see a pile of tangled glowing yellow rope in the corner of my vision. It makes reading, driving, viewing screens, everything a bit more challenging and most times it makes me jumpy AF, especially with the tarantula shape spot. Things improve over time (they say), so hang in there!
Was so nice to see tou both so relaxed and happy. Win for borhe you guys and Noah so hope to see you do more "solo" adventures. Prayers for your eye to improve with time Alex. And teally hoping for some US van life trips in the near future

Do it more often! Great video to see you relax for real and it’s so important for him to develop other bonds. Perfect.
I would like to see more travel videos of just the 2 of you. The trip you took looked relaxing and I love to see you in nature.
How lovely for you two to just have some time together at a very romantic getaway. I'm sure it was good for your souls even though you missed little Noah xxx
I’m so sorry about the injury to your eye. Thank you for the immensely enjoyable video.
Great video you guys. I love your humor. You are one of the funniest tubers I watch.
Sometimes it works for a little while
I love this! Next time I’ll try it!
How lovely of Nana to let you have a break its good for everyone all round ❤
Oh Alex, that really sucks. I actually did have a retinal detachment in my left eye when I was 23, which was 14 years ago now. Sometimes my pupil takes a while to reduce or increase in size and it is so weird when it happens. So I feel for you! But I commend you for taking your health seriously and getting checked immediately in Italy. It's crazy what damage one little olive can do!
Glad you found time to get away. ❤
Yes, more videos with just the two of you. Hope your eye feels better soon.
I remember going away for a weekend away when my son was 6 weeks old. It really helped that I could have a couple of nights good sleep.
Yes this is different and also important for you both.
I am so glad.... you two got to get away....Adult time is needed and healthy.
To Stay good 'Friends' takes Time, Energy and Commitment. (and planning) > Enjoy each other NOW, do not wait until your son is grown.
> The cabin with the Grass....too Fun!
It was nice to see you relaxed and enjoying your little getaway without any hassles or hurdles!
Bean on!
You two are both looking really good and slimmer! Well done
This is so good for both of you ! I haven’t seen the two of you so stress free for so long. You should do a video every month doing something stress free together even if just for the day. I have two grown kids and we didn’t do even time just the two of us and I wish we had done much more of it.
Lovely to see you two get some "couples time." But you do realize that you're just bit players now and Noah is the star of this show!
lol
Omg, you guys make me laugh. Love it! It is good to get away occasionally just the two of you. This looked like such a great little getaway. 😊
Glad you had a restful time away. It reminded me how much I enjoyed watching your van life videos. They were an inspiration to us when we first had a camper van. 🚐 You should definitely have a trip away in your van again.
Noah looks like he had a great time with his Nana too 😍
You two make me smile. Have fun kids!
Yes! More grown up time for the beans! You both look so relaxed, happy and refreshed and that can only be good for Noah, too. Plus, it's important not to get lost in parenting and to take time to nurture your marriage - after all, you are newlyweds! :)
Hi beans 🫘 just relaxing 😎 watching you guys 😮you are both down to earth sweeties 😎👍☕️🌻
It's so good for the two of you to get away, just the two of you, this will strengthen your relationship, much love ❤️❤️❤️
To be honest it is enjoyable seeing a video of the two of you alone again I have gotten use to the family videos . The way Noah causes innocent problems is great . Thank y’all for sharing what you share
I so loved this video, makes the heart so happy to see a couple enjoy one another like this. I lost my husband, but I have wonderful memories just like this💗
Enjoy 🫘 Beans
These ae the sort of romantic weekend getaways that it would not be unfathomable for Noah to meet his little bean sibling come next June/July.
We're here for old school beans with you both 😊 Sucks about your eye though Alex!
Was so nice to see tou both so relaxed and happy. Win for borhe you guys and Noah so hope to see you do more "solo" adventures. Prayers for your eye to improve with time Alex. And teally hoping for some US van life trips in the near future
Sorry to hear about your eye damage being permanent Alex.
It was nice that you both could get away to a wonderful place though.
