We start a new winter vanlife journey in London but this time in a new van. We rented this family-sized van from quirky campers to test out and it's the best camper we have ever been in.

Hello and welcome to our channel! We are Alex & Emma, a British couple who have been exploring the world together for over 10 years - from backpacking to vanlife:
2012/13: We both embarked on our own solo backpacking trips through Southeast Asia, where we would eventually meet at a hostel in the mountains of Thailand and begin traveling together. After a year and a half of backpacking around Southeast Asia & Australia, we returned home and to the corporate world!
2015: Travel Beans was born and we filmed our first videos on a road trip around Europe with friends! This was our biggest trip yet.. and you can go back and watch the entire adventure because we filmed ALL of it! This trip took us through Russia, Mongolia & China, on the longest railway journey in the world. Followed by highlights such as staying on a local island in the Maldives for a month, going on safari in Sri Lanka, couchsurfing & hitchhiking in Korea, seeing the snow monkeys in Japan, island hopping in the Philippines, trekking 60km through the centre of Myanmar, exploring the Indian Himalayas, and checking out some of the incredible US National Parks.
2016: Despite an unbelievably memorable year and a half of travels, which we were incredibly grateful to have had the privilege to experience.. we found ourselves in New York City, battling depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on.
2017: After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle. We left the UK with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a continuous travel lifestyle happen! We both got online English teaching jobs to be able to fund our travels and to keep creating videos. We can't quite believe that our younger selves decided to take this plunge but we are so grateful they did as we are still on this journey today!
What now?
Over the years, we've discovered that we LOVE road trips and even decided to renovate our very own little VWT4 van into a campervan to be able to enjoy vanlife and spend more time on the road. We are now the proud owners of 2 awesome little campers - one based in the UK and one that we keep in the USA. You'll often find us using one of these vans to explore Europe and North America. Parakeets? Y'all are lucky it wasn't illegally imported pythons like in Florida that were released by butheads into the swamps. Not only do residents have to worry about gators swimming up the neighborhood canals but pythons too. 😁🐍

That van build is the best family friendly design I've seen. I hope you can find something similar for yourself. Noah is fun to watch as he vocalizes and enjoys his life.

My wife and I love Abbey Wood. We only live a couple of hours north on the east coast, but it’s super easy to access London and all is has to offer staying there. You didn’t mention the amazing facilities at that site, and whilst the vehicle gates are locked overnight you are given a swipe card that opens the pedestrian gate 24/7.
You need to be careful with those foxes, as they also get access into the camp site, and any shoes left out overnight tend to “disappear”.
So great to see Noah finding his voice, kids grow really quickly - mine are 33 & 30 years old, so enjoy him before he asks to borrow the car/van.
Nice van, but where is the toilet?
You looked so much more relaxed in this van than any of your other vans.
Noah is just the happiest baby, clearly he is loved so much by you two and you can tell how contented he is. The van was awesome and there is nothing like hunkering down in a small space when it’s so warm and cosy.
Yes - and he is in the perfect spot to watch what's cooking :)
The only things I'd concerned about the cot area is baby falling back and hitting his head on the metal doors.
Just a note to say…. I think you two are hitting the sweet spot with a perfect mix of selves/travel/activities/baby. And big shoutout to Alex who’s still the lovable van life omnivore. 👍

You need a bathroom/shower area in the van..
On thing missing from that van, an espresso machine. A lot of birds escaped from bomb damaged avaries at London Zoo during WWII, the dangerous animals were moved to Whipsnade. The Parakeets survived our weather and native predators.

I cry every time i watch your vids with Noah! You are guys dont realise just how lucky you are in your lives! Out exploring the world and creating precious family moments you'll never have again while giving Noah the best start in a adventurous life. I've never had a baby myself but just watching Emma's joy at the freedom and confidence there was in giving Noah a safe place to play and sleep was priceless for me. I feel so blessed to have you share your life moments with me. Dont ever stop!

Glad to see you healed and the three of you together, the only thing that I would add is a toilet. The area for the baby bean Noah is wonderfully thought out and the adult bed is genius.
U guys r the BEST.. n NOAH is soooooo supermegadorable.. loved the video n u guys look sooooo happy in that van..!it definitely is a great fit for u all.. it would b great if the owner sold it to U both… love that Noah gets to have that space to sleep n play n it’s great bcuz u guys can put on some fun learning videos on the laptop like Ms. Rachel whose a speech teacher n has her channel on You Tube.. she’s fun n great to teach Noah to speak.. We’re always on her channel for our little ones.. also while he’s entertained with her program u guys can relax on the bed and watch him from a few feet away while u2 relax. Hopefully U guys can get to keep that van if not find another just as comfortable… 🙏🏼🌹🥰

We learned to write off the first night of every trip with our little ones as they get used to being "some place weird". This went on for the first 6-8 years of traveling with kids.
Looks great but the only thing I'd add is some cushioning or soft padding on the back doors in Noah's sleeping area, so when he falls after standing, he is protected.
That and the straps made me very nervous as a choking hazard.
The person that built that is a genius! So good to see you enjoying yourselves again.
The layout of the hire van is very trick. Knowing your Son is so safe must of help you sleep so soundly.
This is the MOST Happiest show today. Please, please do buy that Camper Van, you guys DO deserve that. AND at the beginning of the video, I'm surprised you didn't mentioned that on top of the van has solar panels = Well worth getting that van. Happy trails BEANS !! ❤❤❤

Great to see you in a practical van set up. A high sided travel cot is the best and safest place for a small child and easy to move from van to van or caravan or to hotel. It doesn’t take up much room . We have had 3 boys in them and all survived . They stopped sleeping in the cot when the next one arrived and the last one climbed out earlier morning with a large thud and that was the end of the cot .Then into sleeping bags stacked or however they managed to fall asleep in the van . This takes me back a LONG time to when I lived in Abbey Wood nearly 40 years ago. I had a French girlfriend who wrote a note for the guys in the ticket office at Abbey Wood station to display for all of the French campsite visitors with details of the fares etc, in French. Those guys were so grateful. The note stayed in the window for many years with lots of Tippex and overwritten prices.
It's nice to know that the campsite is still open and running.
That's an amazing way to put away the bed, including bedding, up in the ceiling and at the press of a button too. Never seen it before - what an ingenious idea.
Flower essences are a wonderful aide in helping babies and parents sleep. ❤ I am a flower essence practioner. Many are preserved in Brandy. If you boil just a teaspoon of water and drop the flower essence in after it’s boiled the alcohol will evaporate. It’s a vibrational medicine so if you put it in boiling water it loses its frequency so you just put it in after you pour the boiling water in. You can rub the water on their feet hands and temple …Bach flower essences Impatience, White Chestnut, Cherry plum if it feels like they have had a second wind maybe add vervain. Add Vine if it feels like theirs a power dynamic parent and baby struggling to sleep. Or you can put the essences in a bit of edible cold pressed coconut or olive oil. And rub it on. ❤
That campervan was nice and cozy, and loved the space for 3 (the put down bed and little Noah having all that space to play, sleep and secure. Most importantly you seemed alot happier x
It's quite simple if it's too cold in the van but you can't get the heating to work (I know you DID get it to work, but...). Simply put the kettle on the gas hob and make yourself a cup of tea/coffee/whatever. Heating the kettle will warm the van up, and drinking the drink will warm YOU up from the inside. With the remaining hot water, prepare a hot water bottle & put in the bed to warm it up for you. Job done!!!
It’s really something being a human being. And of course Emma is looking more beautiful than ever. She always does.

The space looks great in that van. A bed that you bring down into place for sleeping then back up out of the way again is brilliant!!!
Guys it’s great to see your taking Noah for all these travels while he’s young, when my son was young he went on 27 return flights around Australia before he turned 1 year old

I love seeing you guys spend family time together! My grandson (Dylan) was born on April 23, so he will turn 9 months old tomorrow. I feel like Noah is my honorary grandson as well! I can’t wait to see what kind of new family van you find! Thanks so much for your post! I hope Alex is doing better! My son-in-law had life threatening health issues for years (including cancer and a kidney transplant) before becoming a papa, so it warms my heart seeing how thankful he is to have Dylan!

Never feel like we won't be laughing when Noah does his thing or maybe exstending a hug because nothing is perfect 💞👪
The disadvantage of the bed is you couldn’t just drive off quickly if it was down. The hard door surface as a side to Baby bed. Plus the security of the bed at the rear door
Staying on campsites like Abbey Wood probably means less likelihood of having to drive away quickly than if wild camping, maybe thats the compromise whilst having very young children I didn't spot a toilet or shower in the van so that could be another reason for sticking to sites with facilities for now

My son has been all grown up for a long time now and my granddaughters are in their twenties but seeing Noah enjoying life with you two brought back the memory of all those wonderful years of reading stories and playing with little ones. Even the nappy changing must be cherished and yes I know how intense it is in a Caravan and a Camper with smelly nappies. Lovely to hear he's found his voice now and at the mum mum mum, dad dad dad stage. If you get yourselves a camper similar to that you will have so much fun and make so many memories. Maybe a drawer style bathroom? A guy named Lucas ravizza I believe his name was would slide out the whole storage area out and reveal a bathroom. Then when not in use. Slide the storage back into the bathroom area. Then flip down a counter extension.
Such a happy episode. Emma watching the joy on your face as you watch Noah and his daddy play was priceless. It makes me long for days long gone and so grateful for refreshing old memories. Thank you for the blessing of watching you three embrace life and each other.
