    I was under the impression this case couldn't go to the CAS because this was the PL's personal rules, nothing else? I've read that they cannot use that as a route of appeal, so, that's removed from Simon's timetable. I quote:
    "However, it's already been confirmed the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will not be an avenue for appeal on this occasion. City previously had a two-year ban from European competition successfully overturned by the CAS in 2020 after UEFA charged the club with breaching its FFP laws."

    How long did it take for Everton, who worked with the PL and admitted to wrongdoing, take from start to finish for 1 FFP breach? 6-10 months right? City deny wrongdoing and are fighting 115 charges. So are people logically trying to suggest that it should take the same amount of time to try and render a verdict for 1 charge (with cooperation) as it would for 115 with no cooperation? I am a Law student and can tell you now Simon, you are 100% wrong and I know for a concrete fact there are cases even today that do, have and will continue to go on for years. 115 charges is a extreme amount of investigating that requires legal teams, maybe even government regulators to go through each and every one to be absolutely sure they are even able to stand in a court room, if it even needs to go to a court room or if Man City are guilty of all of them, several of them or none. That process can take more than years, it can take a decade. There are people in the UK who are still waiting to stand trial and haven't been before a judge prior to their initial hearing several years on since their arrest or alleged charges. This could be due to a lack of evidence, specific requirements that have not been met or they're simply on a long waiting list where other cases are a higher priority. In fact there are people who have spent 20+ years in prison to be found innocent because new evidence has arisen and proven so. This whole Man City situation to be rushed in 6 months is not how you conduct a proper investigation, it's not how the legal system is run this isn't an episode of CSI Miami where it's all sorted in 40 minutes. If we did everything this way virtually everyone innocent would be banged up in prison, while all the guilty would just roam the streets over he/she said. When you have this many charges against you, which will likely see government regulators who have a billion of things to be doing come in (they should be), and the potential to make the wrong decision which impacts every other team in the league, yes it takes years.

That refusal to co-operate and provide the documents requested is a breach of Premier League rules in and of itself.
      As for the overturning of the UEFA ban, that was because of technicalities, not that they didn't break the rules. UEFA has a five year statute of limitations, the Premier League does not. UEFA has strict rules about sources of evidence, the Premier League does not.

      City had more history than the majority of topflight English clubs before the takeover and the stadium wasn't gifted to them fyi. They lease it from Manchester Council who are now already around £30m in profit on every penny they paid for it. With the expansions and the investments in the surrounding area(Co-Op Live Arena might be just the start) that the club has helped to attract(they are invested in the new arena too), City and it's ownership have done more for Manchester than United ever has(Trafford isn't even Manchester either), more then most clubs have done for their city up and down the county in fact.

    • @Metali-tin
      @Metali-tin 10 месяцев назад

      The COMS is one of the best examples of how to manage an athletics stadium project for a big event, with a plan for after the event. Compare that with the London Stadium which was way more costly and will never break even because it's costing the city of London more to run per year(£8m in upkeep apparently) than they are receiving from the lease and events revenue. Most venues end up going to waste after events, some are even temporary fixtures that are designed to be taken down easily. If not for City agreeing to be a permanent tenant and help with the conversion costs before construction, the stadium was going to be much smaller and likely temporary too. The smaller temp stadium was projected to cost upwards of £60m, vs £115m for bigger permanent one that had a lasting legacy and benefit to the city. Can you honestly argue they didn't choose the best option for all involved by miles in hindsight? The majority of the construction was funded by Sport England a lottery funded organisation, so it's also wrong to say it was public/tax payers money as many clueless United fans like to claim and like I said the council are in profit already for their part in it. It may have worked out cheaper for City to buy it outright and do what they want with it but a solution that benefits everyone for longer is surely better?

      Cheat ? Man City are teaching the rest of the league no all leagues how to play football. Football is better in every team in the premiership because of Man City. Me personally and I am not a Man City fan thank City for making the Premiership the best league in the world.
      What a league we have It's brilliant and so enjoyable, every team is improving. Well one or two might not be ( no teams mentioned )🤔

    I didn’t believe it but there is an agenda against certain teams!
    Not one story on Arsenal when they play well but ALL Man United when they do not…
    If this was another day Arteta gave an opinion about referees there would be story after story about that…
    Never believed it when people said it but it’s pretty obvious at this point!

    A failed football club owner talking about how a PL club should be run. He doesn’t have an idea the magnitude of this case. You’re a PE teacher and a United fanboy crying hard to get Man City punished.

    Well they said they needed a year to gather evidence and take witness statements lol that should be a red flag right there. I think city should counter sue for slander if they're charging with no evidence to begin with 👨‍⚖️

      If you can't get the name of the league right you don't get an opinion.
      5 'real charges' repeated over many years, thus making the bulk of the 116 charges.
