- Western notions of religion are often geared towards monotheism. In comparison Hinduism, with its startling array of deities, can appear primitive and chaotic.
This video explains how the different Gods and Goddesses are reflective of the infinite nature of God.
Each deity is an attribute and a powerful portal for one to connect to the supreme reality.
The different masters throughout history have demonstrated that deity worship achieves the ultimate goal of Yoga, which is to steady the mind and realise our true relationship with the Divine.

Hello William.. there is no way to becoming Hindu except by living the principles.. No conversions of name, of place of worship etc.. From Hindu perspective this is true for al religions. For example a tribal person in a remote corner of the world who does not know any religion, when he loves and cares for people around him, he is then following the word of Christ - Love thy neighbour. So he may not be a Christian as understood by the world, but he is following the word of Christ. Being Hindu is how you approach life, rather than by changing name and clothes.. and i feel in that sense you may already be a Hindu in spirit! :)

In monothetic religion there are many names and dominant charactersistics of God. In Islam there are 99 names of God one of which is AHAD which means one and there is one God.
In Hinduism every (religious) God has its own identity and history. Also why do you compare God's figure with animals and humans?

All gods in Hinduism are only representations of the The One Infinite Being which is manifested through all things seen and unseen.
Yes. Absolute in hinduism is approached in a multitude of ways. As Objective reality, the One Absolute, or Brahman, is unseen and beyond space and time.
But the subjective manifestations of the Absolute, referring to the myriad of symbolic representations symbolising the qualities of the Absolute, are infinite. Religion is just a way to reach God who is one. He just came in forms. As long as we maintain peace in our surroundings and ourselves, the world will be a better place. Also by controlling our desires and addictions, we can minimise the power of our demons. Based on accident of birth, we are born in a religion but it depends on ur understanding abt the religion which I have understood properly and I am happy about mine. No need to worry about me. WOWWW this is so good. So obviously, I am a Roman Catholic Christian and as a Christian, I tend to overlook hinduism because they worship many Gods. But as what you say, It is the "bhava" who dictates which form of God is acceptable for our own needs. There is only one God and in Hinduism, the God can be depicted in million ways. I just found out about brahmin invasion of Jain and Buddhist communities, they probably were too far up their own asses to reason. I've visited many Buddhist monasteries and communities in India. God has given everyone complete freedom, You can believe in any god you prefer, or not believe in God at all, some believe in humanity as god, but in the end you will become what you believe, if you study science you'll become scientists not a lawyer so whatever you believe you will be a part of those beliefs and as years roll on you become one with that. and about that if you believe to do evil things you will become evil, so as you might know what happens to all evils, they get destroyed by their sins.
In Hinduism, we believe, all that we do good or evil, will not end with the end of this life, it will be attached to soul and you will get your reward for all your doings accordingly to your doings, in this life or next or after that, but you'll get what you deserve, if you want good than do good practices and avoid all wrong at any cost.
In Hinduism we believe among all living beings only human alone is capable of getting close to god or getting further away from god, and it depends on how you live in this life and this life will decide your next life i.e. you deserve to be a human or not? You will get what you do how much you do accordingly.
So be kind to everyone, and all, even animals live for themselves, then we are humans, we can understand everything, we can do what animals can't so why end up doing and living like them, i.e. just for ourselves and our family alone, there millions of people in need, we can at least help one of them even of it's once in a lifetime, so do things not just for yourself but for others as well, we get the Greatest happiness in life when we do great things for others.

Dhanwantari has told me to study health effects of spices, herbs and different foods. I prayed to Ganga one time to help the environment, and there’s now a park in Karnataka. When I am 21, I will use cannabis and ayahuasca once a month until I am 25 to show my support to Shiva to thank him for giving us plants. And now, we must ask Lord Shiva and Buddha to help Tibet escape China's dictatorship. Who thinks I should visit with Hindu experts to amaze them on my faith strength

Amruta Mohanty here he focused only on the path of devotion which is based on emotion,there are other paths like kriya yoga which focuses on our energy systems,hatha yoga,raja yoga and many other traditions where we neither believe or disbelieve ,here we are seekers,we admit that we don't know.A person on the path of devotion should not have doubt that God is there or not,if he has doubt better not to start with path of devotion.You can start with other methods slowly you may become when have deep spiritual experiences

A hindu is encouraged to seek God himself, not just refer to some scripture. You keep seeking until you meet God and only then will all yr questions cease. Jesus said he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust. In Matthew 5:45.
Jesus also told the parable about Lazarus and the rich man starting in Luke 16:19 .
This parable address your question and as a Christian we hold dear to the words delivered by the the Apostle Paul in Romans 8:18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

In Hinduism there is only one God the supreme Brahman (om) all pervading omnipresent pure consciuosness which has no name or form but worship him in different forms. Not many gods but one God (Brahman )in different forms.

The God takes so many forms simply because every devotee has a different mind and different set of aspirations. Hinduism is formed in such a manner that no matter what type of person you are, you’ll feel comfortable with the the way of God. God doesn’t restrict us. God does open various doors for various people. That’s why Hinduism doesn’t need to be forceful to the devotees. You have every branches to make anyone feel comfortable
