Looking at this on May 2022, after Alcaraz has beaten Djokovic, Nadal, Tsitsipas, Ruud and won 2 masters 1000 titles, seems like a pretty good win for Berrettini.
Berretini uses pace so well. He hits the ball hard when hitting away from the opponent but gives no pace when he hits towards him. uses pace of opponent to direct and add this spin and direction to return
It is the best in the world at the moment, Rafa is second and Novak is third, but If Rafa come back to his very best in terms of forehand then Mateo would be second.
@@theobecquet8477 how is Novak third? There is nothing exceptional about his forehand, it is good and stable but he does not have exceptional pace or anything like that. Just look at Alcaraz, Ruud, Rublev, Sinner probably Zverev and Tsitsipas too who all have similar stability but more pace and spin.
@@tijgertjekonijnwordopgegeten At this moment I would Alcaraz forehand as second at the moment or maybe even first cause he hits one of the hardest balls, and uses a load of spin, almost as much as Rafa’s
You should see Carlos' photo spread in Men's Health magazine, that is one seriously ripped 18yr old! So much of his power is generated by his core (8-pack) coming up thru those speedy tree trunks he's building. I've never, ever seen a tennis player that well put together at such a young age, goes along perfectly with his deft touch. I'm most impressed by his heart and sportsmanship. I've seen him concede points to his opponents when bad calls are made no matter where they are in the match, it's incredible. Hasn't broken a racquet, Rafa-esque. But I think it's just who he is and amazing team/family.
I’m thinking after having seen how much Alcaraz has improved since this match and has 2 grand slams now and how Berrettini hasn’t improved I believe you won’t be seeing this result often
I love these moments for Berrettini because he will be one of those successful losers who win here and there but never get the big one. Not everyone can be an Alcaraz.
Alcaraz is already better than players like hurcarz or norrie. He's almost on the same level as berritini, ruud, sinner, and rublev Give him a year or two and he'll be there with zverev and tsisisisipas. After that Medvedev or number 1-2
He is on the same level of Berrettini. They won the same number of games in this match, and he lost only by a few points in a very close tie-breaker. He already beat Tsitsipas in 2021 US Open.
I don't understand why in some rally he is so over eager to change direction from matteo backhand to forehand when hitting with his forehand, he could go two or three more shot to his backhand and then unleash forehand winner when matteo is hanging in backhand corner. May he learn from experience
Berrettini needs to work on his wrist strength and flat stroke, his ball trajectory should be as low as possible net level to make it harder to return.
@@alejandromaracaibeno9305 Oh my, thats not good. Maybe i was right, he was probably moving his wrist wrong or was already suffering from a wrist injury thats why i noticed it as a weakness. I hope his trainer therapist recommend correction to strengthen his wrist back in shape coz hes a great athlete to watch out for. Injuries at his level of game is always a risk to be watch out for to have a longer carreer in tennis. Berrettini presence is good for tennis.
Alcaraz put his bet on the adversaire 's physical and mental strength if the adversaire is not fit physically and mentally he will definitely lose against Alcaraz

He had match points against Medvedev in AO and would have easily handled Tsitsipas in SF if he'd won that MP. Alcaraz was still never in the last 4 of a Slam to this day. Very true. And btw, he still gets plenty of winners off the backhand.
