Everything about this kid is hard to believe. His level is so ridiculous at this age, and his improvement this year has set him on the most amazing trajectory. At the start of this year, winning a 500 event, to winning a slam and becoming world number 1. Amazing stuff
Nice guy Ruud. I appreciate people who still have the power to smile and be friendly even after very important losses. It shows that he has great character and that he doesn't think the whole Universe revolves around him, like others seem to believe.
I love tennis since 1987, and Carlos became my favorite player, ever. It says it all...This kid is simply out of this world, and he just turned 20...Do you notice how the crowds roar and stand up for ALL his matchs around the world? It never happened before! He gives me more emotions, roars, tears, and smiles in one year (i discovered him in 2022) than all the players together since 1987...Carlitos will always be my favorite! And now he's a Wimbledon champion...Plus, i had the chance to meet him twice during this Rolang Garros 2023 (look at my profile picture) and he's very kind, and i love him even more for that. Vamos!!!!
to anyone who thinks that this point collection is insane remember that it doesn't include the grand slams especially the USO where he had some of the most unbelievable points ever 🤣
Seeing Alcaraz in 2021 everyone knew he is gonna win multiple masters, grandslam and be no.1....its just everyone thought he ll reach that stage in 3,4 years ! No one thought it will the immediate year and everything at once !!
He’s absolutely incredible. Most exciting player I’ve seen in many years. But I think, ironically, he might have achieved too much too soon. I’m no fortune teller but I suspect he’ll have a tough time of it next year. Too much pressure, too much expectation. But then I see him roaring back to #1 the year after.
I mostly agree, but now there's a lot of promising young rising stars that can compete for the trophies and are great, then mid generation of Tsitsi, Zverev,Medv, , Rafa and Novak, it will be harder but who knows. Also injuries can be abitch.
Too much too soon, why would that be? He will only improve further.. he's still so young. Novak at Carlos' age in 2006 only won his first 250 ATP title in Amersfoort, won his first GS at 21 as Federer did.
I kinda agree, this already started in the second half of the season where he still won the USO but you can tell his level dropped a bit in comparison to the 8 months before that. The thing with Carlos is that he can't afford to only win while playing highlight tennis which is ,incredibly enough, what he has been doing since he rose to the top. The big 3 (and Murray) for example all gave us insane highlights and unforgettable moments but what they did best was to win on almost every occasion while playing at 60-70% of their best and peak when it mattered most. Without that you can't go through the exhausting tour for 15+ years while staying healthy and winning the biggest titles. My prediction is that while he might fluctuate a bit for the next 2-3 years he will get that under control and go on to dominate for many years. This kid is a one of a kind for sure.
I guarantee 100% & confidence 🇨🇭GOATderer (Federer) the magician will lift up the Trophy 🏆 2023 🇦🇺 Australian open champion for the record 10th time in history & 22nd major champion is still coming soon in advance 💪!!! because the Grand Slams are not actually part of the ATP, they are each governed by their own organization. It's weird, I know...This is why we never see Grand Slam footage in ATP videos.

Alcaraz, finally an all court player!!! So tired of all these years of baseline players. Only way to beat the best baseline players is coming to the net. Novak is probably the best baseline player ever and good luck beating him from the baseline.

That much is only the competition to him now !
