I slep in an ice hotel in Quebec about 20 years ago. Was pretty much like what you experienced. Not sure if we had better sleeping bags but didn't get cold at all. I actually slep so well that I woke up late arround 9:00 am and there was some visitors touring the hotel and they were looking inside my room while I was still in the bed! I missed the breakfast.

Yes, much nicer to visit Lapland in late winter/spring, much more light and less cold usually. That's when we locals go north.
