The thing I love most about Outnumbered is how the kids didn't have a script like the adult actors. They're given direction and that's it. It always made for some hilarious scenes!
Really? One of these clips popped up in my feed the other day and I've watched 3 of them so far. I was wondering how her acting is so perfect, but the adults are clearly acting.
As someone who studied acting this is the best way to go! If your cast has ANY talent you will get much better outcomes wirh directions instead of full on complete script😂
A lot of the kids lines were ad libbed. The writers would tell her what they would like her to say, but she worded it herself. And so this got a brilliant reaction from the actors playing her parents.
Well done to Ramona Marquez for her role as Karen! I'd love to know how much crossover there was between the things she said as part of the acting, and the things she was really thinking.
Its just a pure manipulation. The only thing you are teaching to kids this way is to never trust a compliment because it means that someone tries to manipulate you or get some informations from you which he has no courage to ask about directly.

She looks exactly like any little boy out there with medium length hair. If someone told you this was a boy named Dylan you wouldn’t bat an eye.
Not I. My toddler watched a goat being unalived, I said is it scary? She said no. I said that's how we get meat. Do u still like meat? She said it's sad but she thinks meat is delicious. I tried to cover her eyes but she wanted to see. We made a prayer for the goat. So long as its done humanely and we only occasionally eat neat resoefectfully then there's nothing wrong with it

It’s possible (and indeed likely, as with all other kids) that your little one’s perspective was already influenced by her family’s attitudes. It’s possible that she didn’t want to express sadness or distaste for something you support. It’s also possible that she is too young to properly grasp the reality of death and suffering- and that would be really good! No toddler should have to understand such things. I personally don’t believe there is any way to kill ethically for those of us who are fortunate enough to have access to plenty of other beautiful nutritious foods for sustenance. That said, I respect your opinion. 🩵🥰

I hadn't realised what a long-running show this was. I think I came to it quite late. I'm guessing this must have been a pretty early episode - Ramona Marquez who played Karen is younger here than I remember her ever being.
There's a, "kids of Outnumbered reunite" video on RUclips and the grown up version of the girl made reference to this scene and said one of the production staff made the drawing and it had to be very detailed in case the camera caught it...which it did. Makes me think that all the chatter about the kids adlibbing is not true. Doesn't make it any less funny.
I remember when I was a kid and took some left over sausages to school to eat for lunch, and some kid decided to tell me all about what goes into sausages because father owned a butcher shop, in graphic detail, I stopped and stared at the sausage while he continued his horrific storys, when he finished, I just said well they taste good to me and ate the rest, I think I was around 8 at the time,,what he didn't know was I'd seen my father cutting chickens heads off to throw in the pot, and they do run around without their heads ,one day dad said ,watch this kids, and let one go headless it ran around bumping into everything, I looked down and his eye was looking directly at me, so I didn't laugh, but my sisters and brother thought the headless chicken was as funny as Buster Keaton ,and laughed alot,
