Feel your pain. A layer of permanently wet, leafy slurry along our road and the salt on the roads in the Scottish Highlands ensure that my van is filthy again the very same day I wash it in winter……I just jet wash the arches, as far underneath as I can get (not very far on a heavily lowered van 🙄)and the worst of it off the bodywork at a jet wash over winter now. Still love watching Heather weave her magic though. ❤
Genuinely completely agree with you. In the uk I think there’s a solid argument for doing a proper wash and putting something on in Nov, then just wipe lights and numberplate for the next 3 months
@@owainstravels3381 Yup, tbh I bet these detailers who do it for a living don't keep their private car looking perfect (unless its their work car to show off what they can do), I rarely if ever see a clean car on the roads this time of year. Completely wasted effort, time and expense.
@owainstravels3381 Wrong, I disagree. I have been detailing vehicles for over 45 years, I keep all (3) of my vehicles clean. They get a complete detail every 3 to 4 months and washed every week. It is just how I live, everything must be clean. I spent 12 years in the Marine Corp, maybe that is my issue, but I find nothing wrong with that. Have an excellent week.
@@KevinAClassA Come and detail my van then? I guarantee you it will look as bad as before you did within 24 hours or less and will need doing again....
Fantastic video as always. So satisfying to watch such meticulous attention to detail (pun not intended!). I can't get over how clean and fresh the tyres look. I'm always inspired to up my game a bit after watching one of your videos. Happy Christmas!
Another great video Heather, the car looks like brand new. With so many different products out there, it can be difficult to choose, your unbiased review makes the choices easier.
MX5 is looking as good as ever! Not sure if you've thought of one but in Winter, I'd recommend getting a hold of an undercarriage wash attachment for the pressure washer - they're about £30-40. Amazing the amount of stuff that comes off and gets the salt off all the parts under there during the Winter months too.
Simply stunning, one of your best yet I reckon. The car, the methods, the reviews, the end result, all really enjoyable to watch, not to mention the level of gadgetry on display. If ever you get to a point where your storage facility is getting a bit full with all these products you've reviewed, give me a shout, I'll be happy to relieve you of a few 🙂
The deep gloss at the end is incredible Heather - I know it is a love or hate thing with the car matts, but I personally love the effect. Cheers Graham
Thank you for sharing your winter detail preparation. Your Mazdas paint look so wet and shiny. Your hard work in maintaining it is paying off. I’m re-doing my cars winter prep as the LSP I used has not really worked. I’ve just bought GT iron remover and tar remover on your recommendation 👍
I really like your channel you are directed and to the point. And of all the RUclips videos I've seen on car cleaning i've never seen such detail paid to a windshield. 👍
Another great video Heather just spent 3 hours cleaning mine white cars with black trim is not good in winter weather! Thought your matts looked amazing
Awesome job Heather the Red is popping. I've never had any joy with anti fog stuff, but tbh with a clean screen, heated and AC it never really much of an issue these days for me personally.
You've excelled yourself yet again Heather. Like you, the signature vehicle for my valeting and detailing business was an MX-5. I say was, because it became a victim of the dreaded tin worm (rust), despite all the care and attention. I'm keen to find a decent interior mist preventer for my dad's car so he can drive safer. 1 If you want a very easy anti-fog product Cleantle antifog glass+ is the answer, you use it like a glass cleaner... 2 I'm italian and i suggest you to try Labocosmetica products, (Primus, Purifica, Semper, Omnia, Glico, Ductile over all) they are all very good. 3 Beautiful car and good work 😉
That is such a fashionable Polisher. I for one appreciate all the COLORFUL TOOLS you showcase. From your towels to your buckets 👌. My Pink FTW towels arrived last week from the Rag Company 👌. Hope to locate that Polisher here in the USA someday👀🤔. Love that black and Teal combo. Love your Style 🤜🏽
Yeah the black and teal combo is very pretty! I think Detail Division are your best bet for CC stuff in the USA, but it doesn't look like they have the polisher atm
Another great video! Thank you for sharing - I too had the same problem 12 months ago when using Gyeon Anti-Fog on one of my cars, it was just so difficult to remove the smearing after it was applied. In the end I used a paper towel to remove as much as possible and then followed up with a slightly damp (with water) Glass Polishing e-Cloth - I'm sure this probably removed all of the product. Now I just make sure that my inner glass is as clean as possible, Bilt Hamber Trace-Less is good for this.
Th Karcher VP 180 s adaptor is worth a look if you use their system. Rotates 360 and can vary the pressure, brings the size of the lance down a fair bit too.
What a finish with some very good products. I did a deep clean on the 3 glass last week following your previous procedure i.e wash, clay, water spot remover, glass cleaner & glass polish then panel prep in preparation for Yum Glass+ when it arrives. I am hoping to get an early start in the morning to do a deep clean so I can get a wax on the paint for winter protection and maybe my paint will get close to yours as it does look really good when it is clean & protected.
Always meticulously cleaned, love the DI tank that’s a great idea, I liked the swivel for doing under the arches but £40 just for the swivel is a bit much. I’m not a fan of the old anti fogging products either, they never seem to work as they should, I always keep some of the dehumidifier silica gel pax in the car now and don’t get the fogging problem.
Great job Heather, was the steam on the mats to bring the pile back up of was it a method of cleaning them? Nice glossy results on the paintwork, i find its much easier to get good results like that if you just stay on top off the cleaning and do a good job regularly, great work keep it up Heather.
Thanks Chris! It was a bit of both really. The steam is enough to keep these pretty clean as they don't get too dirty in between. I usually give them a proper extraction every 4 months or so to deep clean them too
Those Michelin Pilot Sports really do seem to like Carscope's Ink tyre dressing. Wasn't sure about the new version of Ink when I opened it as it's much thinner than the old one but it's working just as well plus it gets into all the little areas of the tyre wall better. Need to try that tyre finisher as well to matt the finish down a bit for that OEM plus look. Nice video again Heather.
As an FYI - I used Adams antifog product a couple of years ago which was very easy to apply. Also, very envious you have the new Carbon Collection mini polisher, I so want it! (Also it’s really pretty 😂)
Hi Heather, just wanted to say thank you for all the videos. I’ve just received my first order from in2Detailing after watching your video on a budget start up kit, bilt hamber auto foam, tyre serum, towels and shampoo. These were all delivered the next day so excellent customer services, I still have some brushes to buy so I’ll be using them again. Again thanks for the advice, do you have any suggestions for an odour eliminator ? Just bought a new car and they used a really strong smelling cleaner that still smells two weeks later, really strong chemical smell. Thanks

I just more or less did that on both my vehicles. Tiring. I dont know about you, but the feel/sound of clean protected leather is addicting. Particularly the seats. I use Gyeon for the seats as well and is my go-to for protection. I case you were wondering.......i hate winter!!

However, just noticed (cant believe i didnt notice earlier 🤦🏻) that i have a 1" x 2" patch of rust bubbles on back wheel arch 😭 when prewashing/washing should i work around it? As in, dont go over it directly with Pressure washer hose or wash mitt. Worried about ripping the paint off! Second question, have noticed you use Soft99 Glaco in the past, would you say the product you used in this vid is better? I dont have a polisher so Glaco was what I was thinking of getting.
Thank you! I would avoid blasting it with the pressure washer but as long as the paint is intact then I think you should be okay going over it gently with the wash mitt. I would say atm that Glaco seems like a more wiper resistant option so I'd go for that

My GF has an '21 MX-5 RF in blue with the smaller black wheels. A Great car she's just spent £700 getting the bodywork and wheels refurbished. I'll put a ceramic coating on it in the Spring- probably going to use Pan's Clean 8 year coating when it finally gets here, because it seems like its got the most modern chemistry, durability, gloss and hydrophobicity also having the benefit of easy install and chemical bonding to the paint surface. It's funny seeing all The Rag Company microfiber products at each stage that you have recommended and I now own! I do actually need a quality hose pipe as the inside of the hose has collapsed and is restricting supply pressure to my pressure washer- Any solid recommendations?
Great choice, the blue is really nice! Honestly the hose pipe I'm using isn't amazing so I don't have a recommendation unfortunately, might get a new one next year
Really interesting to hear you mostly leave your car to air dry now with the DI water. It’s something I’ve considered before but it always felt slightly wrong to just leave it wet! Does it work well in any weather (sun/hot/cold etc.)?
Haha I know what you mean, I only really do it on my car tbh. I've not had any trouble with it in any weather condition, but when it's going to freeze I will fully dry the car just so I don't get beads of ice in the morning haha
Hi Heather, can you explain why you don't wash all jams and simply just dry them after washing? This method seems to be a risk for the paint imo. Second, have you ever used View Evo? If you use two coats without removing in between, this new version applies quite easily and works a treat! Please let me know your opinion on this product. Keep it up!
Thanks for watching 😊 the door jambs never get that dirty with my car and most of the dirt gets washed away through the panel gaps during the exterior cleaning process. If they were dirtier though I’d use a mitt and shampoo as that’s definitely a safer method if there’s any grit in there. I’ve not tried View Evo unfortunately, looks like it could be a good one to try though!
Great video! Just a quick question: when brushing your Pilot Sport 5 with a tyre brush, are you brushing it really hard? Cuz I heard that when brushing the tyre really hard, the black velvet part will come off, so I only brush my tyres with a big detail brush.
Apart from the fantastic job you just did, how's the little Mazda holding up? I was looking around and they seem to be a very good compromise in quality/price, but I'm a bit esitant with the thousands of equal but different hybrid options they offer, it's just really confusing
@AutoCareHQ had a paint protection on the car four weeks ago and only happened since then and also smears when raining I've cleaned wipers could the dealership accidentally dripped a bit on windscreen
Another fantastic job Heather. I hope you charged yourself 'mate's rates'😂 Have you treated your car to a new exhaust for Christmas, or did you preclean the bore?🤔 It looked exceptionally clean before you washed it.
Beautiful work Heather! I've always liked your Mazda and especially the way that you care for it. Stunning red color. I always learn something from you. Well done!
Heather are you bravo enough to drive that Miata on your UK Wintry Snowy Roads? Dry pavement no problem but I was just concerned regarding Snowy pavement.👍
Haha I'm ashamed it was so long 😂 This Pyramid foam cannon drains quite slowly tbf so if I used the same dilution ratio in the MJJC it would be way thicker

I’ve not tried View Evo unfortunately, looks like it could be a good one to try though!
great job 😀
Thanks!
good skill,nice car!
Thanks!
What did you use to make the lines on the mats? Awesome Vid BTW 🤩🤩🤩
Thanks! Sorry I forgot to add the link, it’s just called a pet hair removal block. Most detailing stores sell them including In2Detailing
Great video! Just a quick question: when brushing your Pilot Sport 5 with a tyre brush, are you brushing it really hard? Cuz I heard that when brushing the tyre really hard, the black velvet part will come off, so I only brush my tyres with a big detail brush.
Thank you! Nope I don't put too much pressure. I wouldn't use one of those very stiff bristle tyre brushes either on this though
@ thanks for the prompt response! I’ll stick with using a big detail brush as I wash my car once a month so the tyres are not super dirty 😊
never heard of wheel shampoo
Apart from the fantastic job you just did, how's the little Mazda holding up?
I was looking around and they seem to be a very good compromise in quality/price, but I'm a bit esitant with the thousands of equal but different hybrid options they offer, it's just really confusing
Thanks Dave :) I love this car to be honest, I don't really have any desire to get anything else at the moment I can't really fault it
Starting to geek out about car wash, but I'm still far from this leve still.
Hi Heather any advice on how to stop rain repellant to stop smearing I struggle to stop this and many thanks on another excellent video
Thank you! Are you using a damp microfibre towel to remove it?
@AutoCareHQ thanks for replying there brand new unwrapped and getting like a fog affect if you know what I mean
Hmm I'm not sure what could be causing it to be honest, best bet would be to try contacting the brand and see if they've got any advice
@AutoCareHQ had a paint protection on the car four weeks ago and only happened since then and also smears when raining I've cleaned wipers could the dealership accidentally dripped a bit on windscreen
For some reason Heather nobody gets on well with Gyeon anti fog 😢 something Gyeon really need to look at
Yeah it seems to have similar reviews to mine, just wish it was easier to buff off
Another fantastic job Heather. I hope you charged yourself 'mate's rates'😂
Have you treated your car to a new exhaust for Christmas, or did you preclean the bore?🤔 It looked exceptionally clean before you washed it.
Haha cheers Stephen! Nope this is just the stock one, I've always kept it pretty clean though and this car barely kicks out anything haha
Beautiful work Heather! I've always liked your Mazda and especially the way that you care for it. Stunning red color. I always learn something from you. Well done!
Thanks very much Jim!
Mazda's aluminum rim is really difficult to clean🤔but well done 👍
Awesome .What tool do you use to stripe the mats like that? I cant see a link to it thanks
in2Detailing Pet Hair Orange Tube
Thanks! You can also get them on Amazon amzn.to/4cswrjo
Did you apply anything to the carmats? What is that orange block you were using on them?
Nope I just used the steam cleaner here. It's called a pet hair removal block, here's a link to one amzn.to/4cswrjo
Hi! Are those the BBS wheels ? Or some other aftermarket brand ? If so could you link them where you got it ?Thanks
They're just Japan Racing ones, here's the link jr-wheels.com/category/jr28
Heather are you bravo enough to drive that Miata on your UK Wintry Snowy Roads? Dry pavement no problem but I was just concerned regarding Snowy pavement.👍
I avoid it if the weather is really icy, it's not the best then haha
What wheels are these?? I have a similar car to you and these look great!
Thanks! They’re Japan Racing JR28 in Hyper Black
Thank you! Cheers
1 month? Heather!
The snow foam looked like it was being delivered too fast maybe?
Haha I'm ashamed it was so long 😂 This Pyramid foam cannon drains quite slowly tbf so if I used the same dilution ratio in the MJJC it would be way thicker
Would you use the same ratio for the wheel shampoo in a pump foamer as in the lance?
Nope I would use more in the lance as that will dilute it further. Around 20ml of product to 500ml of water should be about right in a foamer
@AutoCareHQ Thanks!
What is the name of the accessory you used to make the designs on the carpet? Thank you.
Thanks for watching. It's just called a pet hair removal block
@@AutoCareHQ thanks!!
Great video, some interesting products used there. Are you a member of the UK MX5 owners club? I’m sure you could get some really helpful detailing articles in the regular magazines that we get as members 👍
Thank you! I’m not actually, I keep thinking about it though so I’ll have more of a look into it!
Buy yourself a cheap hanging dehumidifier bag,put it you car out of sight and you’ll get no fog.
No moisture,no fog!
Good shout!
Keep it simple! 😜
Hello Caretakers. Normally the cobbler always wears the worst shoes - but not in this case. This car shines on the highest level. Almost too good for the winter.
Beautiful as always lady Heather
Thanks for watching!
Is anything available for applying under the car to counteract salt and prevent rust?
Bilt hamber atom mac as a preventative, or full on underbody treatment with S50 and UB if already on its way to corroding
I’ve got some Atom Mac so might give this a go
❤
👍
🙂👍
CarScope polisher? I thought it said Carbon Collective 😜 Must’ve had CarScope on your mind from the previous lot of products 😂
Good spot haha, don't know how I missed that on the edit
