Meris LVX vs Meris Polymoon

- This is a short and sweet video discussing the similarities and differences between these two pedals from Meris. The LVX obviously goes WAY beyond the Polymoon, but many people have asked about the specific differences between the two. I hope this video sheds some light on this topic. If you want to check out a more thorough video into the LVX, check out my deep dive video linked below.

Awesome Video!
Wow, I was JUST searching RUclips for videos about Polymoon and LVX, and then this showed up in my subscription feed!😂😲
Great demo! However, to me it sounds like you kept the mix and/or the feedback on the Polymoon a bit lower, which kind of makes it feel a bit less lush just because of sheer difference in loudness. I think you really illustrated the difference anyway, but maybe something to consider the next time you make a comparison video.
I’d love a guitar video on the various modulation, no delay, options available. Might remove some pedals off the board
Idk if anyone else has tried this but you can make a flanger by automating the milliseconds of delay parameter inside the comb filter with the modifiers, its not exactly the same but its in the ballpark
Quite honestly it’s really a super deep pedal and I can see doing some amazing sounds with it as Zach superbly demonstrates in other vids, however it being closer to a synth triggered by a guitar makes it vastly more complicated for live purposes than actually having a keyboard. Sure it’s great in the studio, but when you want to transfer that great sound/idea to the stage it gets really tough. I have the Polymoon and love it! Also fits on my small board very well. So I do like the LVX but am reluctant of it’s practicality as a guitarist.
Any chance you're gonna do a video on Meris Enzo? I love mine and i'd love to see what you can do with it!
Thanks for the info! Seems like the LVX does a billion things and can replace most pedals on someone’s pedal board. It’s really a bargain for how much quality meris packed in it! Could the pitch shifting options/sequencer and analogue delay replace something like a chase bliss thermae, in your opinion?
I was literally asking myself this question (especially that for some reason ;) so many used Polymoons popped up recently heh). Would you do sort of the same rundown on LVX vs Microcosm?
I probably won't do that. They are VERY different in my opinion. Kind of apples and oranges. They are both amazing, but I'd say that the Microcosm is more about granular textures and LVX is more about experimental delay. Also you can't customize the Microcosm's presets, but those presets are VERY good.
I have both, and yes
I love my Polymoon, but it's confusing because I can never remember the secondary functions. I just ordered an LVX. I'm pretty sure having that screen is going to make all the difference.
So, what's the conclusion 5 months later?
@@AudioJanitor i'd like to know this too
When you hold the tap switch down on the Polymoon it halves the tempo and then springs back on release. I believe holding the tap switch on LVX engages the looper. Is there a way to enable the momentary delay stretch on LVX similarly to the Polymoon without tying up the expression pedal controls?
I do it with midi.
thanks for this. just to see if I get this straight: what I love about the polymoon, is a setting where the delay is totally smeared (dimension max), and the 'reverb' kind of moves from left to right in my ears/stereo field. can the LVX do this?
Awesome comparison! Would you be able to do the same with a hedra?
Don't have a hedra on hand anymore, so probably not. There's a lot of the hedra in LVX, but there's a lot more unique to the hedra then there is to the polymoon in my opinion.
It looks like LVX doesn’t currently allow one to dial in Early and Late Modulation, the way Polymoon does, either.
Hey man, Great video thanks. You have already said everything and very well but I ask you only at the level of the timbre which do you prefer? Because the Polymoon as a tone seems to me to sound "warmer" perhaps analog compared to the Lvx even if clearly much more powerful.
I ordered Lvx at the end. I hope I made the right choice :))
They are both digital and sound very similar. Im sure you'll be happy with your choice!
Can you tell us anything interesting about the looper on the LVX? At this point it seems to be a fairly basic looper, like most that are attached to flagship delays.
Well, one thing you can put all of the different modules before or after the looper, and it does halftime ,reverse or both
Only one minute long
H90 vs LVX vid ? 💅😈
Hey your details on the LVX are really cool. Makes sense that you can only use one modulation, but I'm curious about how many modifiers you can add?
Can you have a flanger, and a pitch shift? And a filter? And a drive? Etc
Yeah, you can use one thing from every section. And you can use one of each from the mod section. Meaning you can use lfo 1, 2, env, sequencer all at the same time.
@@ZacharyRizer okay so we aren't hurting for options at all. Thanks for that!
I'm keeping my Polymoon..I dig that the LVX can be very flexible in the ways it can manipulate the core sounds...I was disappointed that for all it's power in doing those things the bottom line is it hasn't got much new CORE sounds other than bits of all of the previous pedals...if it had more NEW core sounds I'd be much more interested...I'm hoping they do a super Enzo with modular and huge new core sounds involved next....
I think the idea with LVX is that the pedal provides a vast set of tweakable parameters to make your own new, core sounds
@@davedraws76 Maybe..I need to see proof..in the demos so far I haven't seen any.. just manipulation of the old ones..
@@patrickr6505 Check out Zachary's deep dive vid. He just covers the basics but it still takes nearly an hour. You really get a sense of the potential to make your own unique patches. I know all pedals offer this to some degree but LVX goes way deeper
@@davedraws76 I did watch it the day it came out as I did everything about the LVX..I was still disappointed as are many like me..I'm not saying it's not a brilliant pedal..it's just not for me as I'm happy with my Enzo and Polymoon.. Enjoy it when you get it..
@@patrickr6505 No dude! You're buying it and you will love it whether you like it or not! ;) (thanks man! I hope i like it. It does seem a little high maintenance and i hope that doesn't cause it to collect dust on my pedalboard)
LVX : 'Hold my Beer!'
What about Mercury7 can LVX sounds like M7 ?
No, you can fake reverb with diffusion in polymoon mode of LVX, but it does not have dedicated reverb like M7
I would like to preorder this pedal, it clearly seems good, is it $600 good?
If you like to meticulously design your own custom delays, then id say yes!
@@ZacharyRizer thanks man, he just cannot deny the sound quality of Meris - their modulation is the best and most tweakable
I think LVX reminds me of certain elements of Strymon Nightsky
They feel very different to me, but both are textural and ambient beasts.
A friend of mine covered his fx in mayo and hot sauce, and now they don't work.
Any advice?
He should eat them and do ambient crap. 😁
@@HondoFelderAfter a long dark delay, yes. But what percentage dry/wet ;)
Polymoon? No midi ~ End of comparison
Huh? Polymoon has midi...
Polymoon has midi..
I love my Polymoon, but it's confusing because I can never remember the secondary functions. I just ordered an LVX. I'm pretty sure having that screen is going to make all the difference.
