I’m going to be a little bit heartbroken when this series ends. Living on the edge of Edinburgh I ride these roads every year but your joy has transferred to us the viewer. We will appreciate them anew ! For that many thanks
Great series, Mr Fish. I’ve been up a couple of times this year on some of the same roads as you, and God it makes me want to go back! And just treat the NC500 as a guide, pick your own roads!
I am glad you have found Scotland. For me the best places for motorcycle trip are Scotland, Yorkshire, Wales and Lake District. I plan to move to Scotland because I don’t want to waste time to go to Scotland. I need to be in Scotland so that I can immediately start riding when it’s sunny.
Hey mate Steve here from The Bucket List Boys... Just found you again and loving the content.. Im 3 seasons behind but currently editing season 4 from 5 years ago lol. Just got back from states again for season 6.... Anyway loving the NC500. Keep up the good work my friend
So glad you did the Torridon / Applecross route in such a beautiful day !! My country is such a wonderful place to ride when it’s like that ! Loved watching it !!
I had one of those. Why oh why mine was 60bhp new ones 48 bhp. Such a sweet engine. I ragged mine to death to over 60k before I sold it running perfectly
What a lovely day for your ride. £80 is a bargain 😊 summer months is£150. Arch used to do lovely food, but live music now……fantastic. Pity you went to the wrong Chippy! One round corner is better and cheaper! Bealach na Ba. Is known as the Bealach to locals. My friend Calum from Ullapool was brought up in Lochcarron.😊 It’s lovely roads. Way nice you meet up with that lovely Porsche 😊😊 Look forward to next video. The NX500 is nailing it. 😊
Av been waiting ages on this episode mr Fish 😂seriously tho a bought a pearl green cbx on April after a finished my chemo and you’ve definitely 💯 gave me something to get my strength up for next year ,I will be doing the exact same route as you’ve went plus not too far from me as a stay in central Scotland n hopefully get down your way England the next again year ,thanks for the brilliant episodes on this you legend 🫶🙏
Completely agree with you on the roads. The big wide A roads are pretty dull. I love the smaller roads and twisty single track. Scotland has the views and good roads but I prefer the roads in Wales. Problem with wales is there is more traffic.
Stayed at the Arch and had a few malts with the locals, had to delay my ride the next day😂it was worth it. The off camber hairpin on the Bealach once claimed me heading to the coast (tired and in wrong gear), the beer and scallops in the Applecross Inn that night saved the day, good memories😉👍🏍 PS. So lucky again with the weather😎👍
NX for long tours cl for shorter ones although can do longer no problem.. just easier for luggage and better weather protection on the NX .. the cl it more fun as the torque peaks at a lower revs and it better balanced..
It was interesting listening to your views on the west side of the NC500, preferring the east side. I have watched all of this series and I don’t think you did much of the east side as you had cut out JOG. I am just guessing from the footage but I remember thinking I don’t recognise these roads. The east side is similar to the west side part you were not loving as it also is mostly 60mph sweepers. Moral of the story is when you come back avoid all but the top road 😊 Brilliant series
Did I mention my mate sold up from down here and moved to Spean Bridge?🤔🤣 You walked right past his house!😀 I did mention this video series to him, he was going to take a look👍 House prices are not that bad up there. You get a lot of house up there for less than what they are down here👌😎
Not sure multi-day trips may be for you Mr Fish🙂. There's plenty of faster roads around the UK and Europe, and there's plenty of packed roads including single track, a lot of them being 50-80 kmh ones. Isn't it about the scenery? For me you have the perfect bike to do the long trips. Embrace and enjoy👍
Just commenting on your comments regarding the 60 mph boring roads and wanting the solitude. In my experience, you have to hit the faster boring roads to get to the nicer stuff. Following on from that, the majority of the nicer roads are always busy as there's not many secret areas anymore with the Internet.
Ok , not sure I understand .. the nicer roads are the emptier ones , I understand the 60mph roads may be a bit dull (not the views) but why should I only do day trips ?
Goodness, I can't get over your weather! When I did this it was torrential rain and gale-force, sideways winds. A pretty miserable experience all round.
@@Mrfish2015 When I got to the top of Bealach na Bà I wanted to stop and look at the scenery (which you couldn't see because of fog and rain). The wind was so strong I decided against it as it was obvious that it would have blown my bike over on side stand. It was that strong. But I loved seeing the route again via your ride. You did it the opposite way round from me but you can go either direction.
How lucky were you ? When I did it it was chucking it down and every caravan in Britain being pulled by a Transit van were there going up and coming down.
The mapped NC500 goes from Loch Carron to Inverness, so after Strath Carron you weren't on it. I presume that's where you thought the roads were less good, and that's fair.
Yeah I think I continued on , I’ve just looked too I never saw any signs further south lol.. all the sections that were more open were lovely but not engaging to ride , pretty much like that last bit .. although I’m pointing at a random road rather the the 500 😂
I've been up there a few times and stayed in quite a lot of expensive shit holes which you would think they would want repeat business but it ain't gonna happen
Amazing views and weather, looks 👌

Thanks , appreciate that .. I was blown away , you’re very lucky
Stunning, what an adventure fish

Don’t overlook Northumberland and the Borders, lucky to live just off the A68😉😊
Sounds like a good plan
I can’t believe the weather you had on the Applecross pass 😮
I was blessed
Been to scotland twice on my bike and only ever had weather like this. Superb thankyou

Glad you enjoyed it! , your very lucky to live there
Loved these videos you have done, you have inspired me to do it on my 24 year old cb500
Nice one , it’s such a great country to ride in
I had one of those. Why oh why mine was 60bhp new ones 48 bhp. Such a sweet engine. I ragged mine to death to over 60k before I sold it running perfectly
Amazing scenery!
And I thought the Last 2 were good. Wow. Amazing trip, amazing guy. Thanks for that. 💪
Thanks for watching mate 👍
Cracking episode once again mate.
Cheers bud
Great video and a great series 👍
Thank you
what an amazing countryside. Great series, it really makes me want to ride over there.
If you get the chance do it , it’s amazing.. thanks for watching
What a great day for the applecross! Nice one John😎👍
Awesome vid dude love the landscapes.. 😊 looks like the the NX is going great 😊😊 Pete 👍👍
Perfect bike in 99% of the situations
Awesome John, glad you got the weather too👍😎
Makes such a difference 👍
Good weather again !!
Have you checked some of those beautiful beaches ?
Which ones ?
@@Mrfish2015 Any of them...
Not after Ullapool on the way down .. just the ones at the top
one word . WOW.👍👍👍👍👍
Great mid bike for the wee roads! I live north of Inverness and am often in that area. Looking forward to what's next👍
Lovely place to live
Great ride

Excellent review.
What size is the MRA wind deflector ?
And where did you buy it?
Thanks.
I can’t remember the size I got it in 2016 ish from Mra

I’ll take both 😂

Ha ha , easily done ..
It was defently better in the car but I would have preferred the bike on the Applecross pass ,great footage nice edit
The single track always perfect for the bike , but the car is definitely better in parts .
Love the vids,
Question, how would you compare the comfort, gearing, power, riding style between the nx500 and the cl500? Tks
NX for long tours cl for shorter ones although can do longer no problem.. just easier for luggage and better weather protection on the NX .. the cl it more fun as the torque peaks at a lower revs and it better balanced..
Hi great trip I'm jealous haha 😉 .... quick question what is it above your TFTl screen? 🤔 sat nav or just screen connected to your phone?
It’s an old iPhone
My favourite part of my country 🙂Did my CBT yesterday with Honda Two Wheels in Edinburgh, good 2 days...Nice vlog Mr Fish 🙂
Congrats on the CBT

I’d did very little on the east I cut straight up to tongue bay and joined it from there
