- Transferring liquid oxygen from tanker trailer to customer storage tank. Oxygen is kept at a temp. of ( -240) degrees F. Just a brief overview, left out a few details. Sorry, camera ran out of batteries before i could finish.
For the curious guy that would like to know how it works, it would've been nice to have an explanation of what you're doing and why instead of music.
The motor is way too loud to be able to talk while filming, maybe I can record the procedure separate and edit it together next time

Thanks for comment. The reason hammer and fittings are brass is so there will be no sparks. Can;t have any type of ignition source when working with oxygen.

Thanx. Can;t say i have ever got a buzz from it, but it clears the sinuses! We have to make sure the area is well ventilated, breathing too much pure oxygen can be bad for u.

as long as hands are clean, it is ok. lox reacts with petroleum products, including hand soaps, some lotions, etc.
I drove an oxygen tanker for a lil while. Lots of fun especially with an old style trailer"gas motor with a sometime funny acting throttle". Would have been nice to have hydralic at the time. liquid is no fun if it ever splash ya . The laugh i use to get when people passed and eye got big when they would see the cloud coming from the vent on top of tailer

@@ChrisHDolemite pump motor was a gasoline engine. Would have been nice if it was diesel. It was the odd one in the fleet.
i recorded it with sound, but thought it was too loud, so put music in place of the sound. it's a VW motor. we have a few trailers with kubota pony motors, i like those better, they seem to run smoother, and don't overheat.

Shawn Lucas bad company. The work was easy and plentiful but they managed their drivers very poorly. They got bought out by Keenan, but I heard it didn't improve, all of the drivers I worked with over there are gone, new guys all the time, very high turnover.
Hey hows it going? Nice vid. I was wonderin. What the purpose of a brass hammer? Also looks like some of the fittings/connections are brass or copper? is there a reason? I do heavy haul and my tanker experience is limited to hauling fly ash, and cement in a pneumatic tank.. Thanks for the info.
The whole purpose of the brass hammer and fittings is to eliminate creating sparks
been retired from it ror 10 years have done it while sleeping may times since can still do it if given the chance

lordtaw it's Oxygen, the same oxygen you receive in hospitals (provided it's not industrial grade). He's not delivering NOS.

The hammer is probably beryllium. You can hit shit all day and never get a spark. They use them in the coal mines!
Varen Grey Mine looks like it's brass...also produces no spark. Fuel truck mechanics use brass tools.
Non-sparking tools:
Beryllium copper is only used when strength and hardness are needed because it is much more expensive than brass. The tools here are brass, as are the connectors on the pipes.
What happened to the copper gaskets?
Did it for years otta the north east & Bozrah CT.

hey Scott!!, No, not Richard C. but you will probably guess who it is.., now that I know Roger and Ralph have seen it, I won't reveal who I am but will tell you that I made it just to test out a new camera that I had bought. I was planning on making a better video to use as one of my training tools, but I don't train anymore, so never did it. Well see you at work sometime.. ;)

James Oxygen itself is not flammable. However, it is an oxidizer and makes flames hotter. It's used in some welding applications.
I work for the same company as this guy a d not wearing cryo gloves can get him fired

I was more concerned that he started using his delivery “glove” to work inside the pony cabinet. Rub some of those hydrocarbons on the nut with LOX present and you could lose a hand.
