This guy is the real deal. Love to see a guy who makes music I hold dear is also someone I'm similar to politically.

I've literally only ever heard "Two Weeks" by this band. I once saw him tweet about how little bands make through Spotify. Still refuse to stream music to this day, based off his one tweet. Guy's been influential as hell. Gonna go listen to the entire ATR catalogue.

Ex military members often become libertarians. I was in for 3 years and quickly became disillusioned with politics and became a borderline anarchist as a result.

The military provides all of your basic necessities from housing, food, paycheck, medical, dental, recreation, and childcare in exchange for complete control and the expectation to obey all (“lawful”) orders. A person can only put up with so much for so long and will yearn for liberty

Phil has the spark that can start the fire. Let's get this started. I got your six Phil all the way sir. When the times comes I will run pointman like a madbull with my fellow countrymen. It's my duty to our past fathers and future freedom and not a choice. We have been given a gift and now it's time to earn it for the future generations. If you don't stand for freedom when the chips are all out on the table, don't bitch when your socialist life sucks it's what you deserve. (Disclaimer time, I am speaking for myself and in no way am I trying to tie Phil to what I believe or tie his statements to mine etc.)Left, Right, Red, Blue it's all the same, thieves and vandals alike, trying to turn the people they are sworn to serve into servants for their own self interests. I say let's not live out our last free days saying, well it was good while it lasted, let's go earn a little more. I'm pretty sure what follows the end of what freedom we had is much more painful than going after more. Well I could go on for days about it, sorry for the long convoluted comment. Wake Up!

While I agree with him entirely, I think he left out some information that I feel has a sway in his argument on black vs. white crime, and that information has to do with the stereotype of being black in America, its different all around but for example you have the gangster/thug reputation that is so sadly followed by so many people who usually turn out to be African American. This doesn't represent the black community as a whole and people need to keep that in mind. I just wanted to point out that factor. We also attack the streets of poor areas all the time and we need to recognize it. I don't know if cops patrol it as much as Phil says, but our society has decided to put all the worst kind of stores in impoverished neighborhoods, such as liquor stores, pawn shops, gun stores...etc. Its just really sad what has happened to the people that live in these neighborhoods. Just.... sad.

When it comes down to it, if you are right wing economically, you're Right Wing period. Ironically Libertarian was a Left Wing term and then these folks appropriated the term for their own ideology. Luckily, the there are people out there who go out and clarify this situation.

Libertarians can either lean right or left, depends on their stance in certain policies. In Europe, libertarians tend to lean left, while in the US, right. For a better understanding, here's a political compass: i0.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/021/323/Political_chart.svg.png

Libertarian is below and Authoritarian is above. There's always been Right Wing Libertarianism in the US, it just wasn't as common as it was mainly Republican and Democrat parties.

He says that he sounds liberal at time, yet every single thing he said fits into a conservative view. Just saying. No shame in admitting you’re a conservative. The left just can be over aggressive to people who are conservative, especially in the music/movie business. So people are afraid to admit it

Here is a list of some Conservative ideals:
      Pro-gun
      Pro-Marriage
      Pro-Capital Punishment
      Pro-Christian
      Pro-Border Control
      Anti-Abortion
      Anti-Drugs
While Phil does in fact agree with some of these ideals such as Pro-Gun and Border Control, he believes Drugs should be legalized and is an Atheist. I don't know much more.
Even then, it's still not that simple. Just because someone agrees with Border Control, doesn't mean to keep ALL immigrants out in a Xenophobic fashion. But to keep Illegals out or at least under control which is not happening under Biden. Even Kamala said "Do not come".
I do apologize for leaving the Ecomonic parts out as I don't know a lot besides terms such as seizing the means of production and free market.
Maybe Phil is in fact a Conservative or Liberal Conservative, but chooses the term Libertarian to avoid triggering people especially when you're fairly well known in the Metal community.
Just the word 'Libertarian' sounds nicer to anyone not familiar with Politics where as Conservative seems to translate as Neo Nazi and/or Fascist to some people.

Phil's definitely right wing - not sure why he's trying to deny that. What i've seen him say on stuff like taxes, guns, social issues, etc. make him right wing. Just because he's pro same-sex marriage and pro-marijuana legalization doesn't make him any less right wing, since a lot of right wingers support both of those, or at least some version of those (e.g. they usually say "get the government out of marriage" instead of "make it legal", and would prefer decriminalization of drugs instead of legalizing, taxing, and regulating them). Hell, the left-right spectrum has mostly to do with economics anyways. He may not be a full blown neocon or social/paleo conservative, but he's definitely a right-wing-libertarian. Especially with his support of Ron and Rand Paul - they are right wingers.

This man clearly hasn't looked too much into general basic political theory. Libertarian is indeed on the right wing spectrum generally (the spectrum isn't just a straight line, vertical axis as well as horizontal axis for the spectrum), but the right-wing you are referring to is called a Neo-Conservative (NeoCon is the common term) and it is also right-wing spectrum, but in a different position on the spectrum
