It is a tad bit sweeter, since lactose breaks down into glucose and galactose, and they're sweeter than lactose. I thought I'd mention it since it's such a game changer as a lactose intolerant person. If you don't have that available, oat milk is probably my favorite non-dairy milk.
I wish more manufacturers would start using cellophane for packaging again, I presume its just not as cheap as plastic for packaging, but as a kid I never had to fight to get into a cellophane packet destroying the contents in the process!
Great review team! A little present for Steph if she likes chocolate mousse. Here’s a three ingredient recipe I make for vegan friends. Refrigerate a tin of coconut cream overnight. Pour off any liquids and beat the solid coconut cream until it increases in volume. Add quality dark drinking cocoa powder (Most Dutch and Italian brands are milk-free) and sugar to taste. Beat until blended and serve. Hope she enjoys it.

The NOMO bars are quite good too. Our local chocokate producer is Kinnerton & they have a factory outlet in Fakenham sells the stuff off dirt cheap. They're one of the only chocolate producers to do genuine nut free chocolate. The NOMO bars are 2 for £1 in the factory shop my wide is vegan thru choice & loves them They literally divided the factory, bought new machines, colour coded uniforms, equipment & tools so nothing from the nut side can get into the nut free side. Look for Kinnerton on the label they make lots of stuff for supermarkets like M&S & they make most of the advent calendars for kids.
If you ever find yourself bored by chocolate with salt in it, just try the "Tony's Chocolonely" brand milk chocolate caramel sea salt - all their varieties are colour coded, so for that one you want the orange coloured wrapper. It's an expensive chocolate bar at almost £4 for a 180 gram bar, but it's worth it - the quality and flavour beats the pants off damn nearly any other chocolate brand. As for the nut "milks", I've tried exactly the same tiger nut drink and I really like it, but a close runner up has got to be the "Alpro" brand hazelnut milk, which has a nutty creaminess to it and is really refreshing when drunk cold. Or you can heat it up (either in the microwave or in a pan) and whisk some dark chocolate into it, for a hot chocolate drink which becomes more or less like liquefied nutella.
I loved that Fanta last year, just after Halloween my local co-op had lots of them left over and were selling them for 50p a bottle, I bought a considerable amount! I was gutted when I ran out. Hope they bring them out again this Halloween.
Cadbury Bournville is vegan. Its the "milkiest" dark chocolate I've found. It has a similar taste and texture to dairymilk. There are brands of lactose free dairy chocolate around, but they are surprisingly rare. In Spain (where I think lactose intolerance might be more common), there is a brand named Valor that has a lactose free variety (and it's pretty good)
@@Ivashaaa I don't actually buy milk, I buy an almond-based substitute, because I prefer it. I was merely pointing out that lactose free milks exist. Thanks for being a presumptuous, condescending, self-righteous prick.
I am too but thankfully it isn't too bad. I can have milk with cereal or hard cheese like emmental or cheddar without much issue. Yoghurt, soft cheese and especially clotted cream has terrible effects on my gut though, which is a shame because I find it so delicious.
I used to have issues when something was too "milky", but Pepto helped me a lot and lowkey tastes good-the original, not the cherry. Cherry Pepto tastes like cough syrup in a tablet.
If you’re interested in trying a really decent (ethical) vegan chocolate bar that does a good chocolate orange flavour, try a brand called Prodigy. You and your daughter will not be disappointed. They also do a Caramel Peanut one that is like a vegan Snickers but better. The Galaxy ones are mediocre at best and too expensive for what they are.

There are brands of lactose free dairy chocolate around, but they are surprisingly rare. In Spain (where I think lactose intolerance might be more common), there is a brand named Valor that has a lactose free variety (and it's pretty good)
Scrubworks why would you want to? Why would you want to still contribute to the cruelty and negative environmental impacts.
@@Ivashaaa I don't actually buy milk, I buy an almond-based substitute, because I prefer it. I was merely pointing out that lactose free milks exist. Thanks for being a presumptuous, condescending, self-righteous prick.
I'm lactose intolerant, but I drink milk and eat cheese because I love the taste. I will eat them on the toilet if I have to.
Same. Not confirmed lactose intolerant but it's pretty obviously my main issue. They can pry my chilli cheese nuggets out of my cold, dead hands.
I am too but thankfully it isn't too bad. I can have milk with cereal or hard cheese like emmental or cheddar without much issue. Yoghurt, soft cheese and especially clotted cream has terrible effects on my gut though, which is a shame because I find it so delicious.
arent their pills you can take before eating lactose to counter the effect? i remember reading something like that.
@UC-SHCQ4DQIqVRkaAMDhWDNg yes, but my insurance doesn't cover them, and it's not too bad
Nah, they have a very 'unique ' flavour, so they may or may not like it but I hated it.
I have never seen those bars of chocolate in the shops
everyone that i know says that chocolate orange is gross, finally i find a fellow person who enjoys it!
so delighted to find you got kids steph is a lovely young lady i take it she is ok with oat milk as like me nut milk does taste little fluffy on the tongue still laughing xx
i relay want to try these now thank you both for the review
Hey, maybe you can make more vegan taste tests in the future? :)
Sure - any suggestions as to what type of thing?
@@AtomicShrimp What about these vegan peas burgers everyone is talking about?
@@AtomicShrimp I very much have enjoyed the vegan videos you've produced so far, so I second what the original commenter said.
Eat an actual Vegan
Unfortunately I hate nuts, so won’t be trying any of the chocolate. Fantastic video and lovely to see the interaction with your daughter.
Are there less calories in the vegan chocolate?
Terry's is just the best right? :D glad you've found a substitute Steph :)
By Grabthar’s Hammer!! It’s a Galaxy Quest!
Dang you can even get Horchata in the UK now. I might have to move back.
Nice, I haven't seen Fanta Dark Orange here in the states yet. At least where I live.
A lot of vegan chocolate tastes appalling but to be fair to Galaxy, these bars are really good. I'm not vegan but my wife is lactose intolerant and has these and I'd be quite happy with one. The only problem is the price.
Great video duke!
SO jealous of you for being able to get any kind of vegan milk chocolate. I can only get dark chocolate here in Tasmania. My husband comes from the U.K. and used to love to eat Galaxy bars.
I wanted to try these but they're soooooo expensive.
