    I like the creativity. Using Filmic Pro this way, however, is more complex than necessary. I don't want my laptop in the kitchen and I don't want another cable hanging around! Also, it limits recording resolution to the screen resolution of your phone (on my iPhone 11: 828x1792).
    The only advantage is it doesn't fill up your phone's storage and it's already on the computer without you having to send it via AirDrop. If you shoot 4k 60fps your phone might fill up quickly! If you don't need 4K and are happy with 720p (828p to be precise on my iPhone) - please, go ahead. Else, just make your life even easier and shoot from the stock video app and export to your Mac via AirDrop :-)
    Bonus: I like to load videos on my MacBook, view them in QuickTime and take a screenshot to extract the frames I like to use (steps of a cooking recipe). No, it's not 4K either, but at least a lot closer than a screenshot from my phone.

      Hi Natasha, Thanks for the comments. The overhead mount will be so good for your felt tutorials.
      I only use Macs for all of my work, So I’m afraid I cannot help you for the windows software.
      No, you don’t need to use FiLMiC Pro. I just use it because of its many features for filming.

    Get a cheap chinese mic scissor arm and a 3/8” base ball head or a more common and cheap 1/4” base ball head with a 3/8 female to 1/4 inch male reducer screw and a phone mount. You will probably get the same result for much cheaper, mine costs 8$. The sturdiness depends on how cheap the scissor arm is and the ball head. I went with the cheapest one which still manages to hold my phone in place. I have the one from maono and it holds my iPhone pretty well.

    Is there a reason why you mounted the phone upside down? Why not take advantage of the better camera which is on the front of the phone.

    • @RavKan
      @RavKan  4 года назад +1

      Stacie Hampton Hey Stacie, The front facing camera can only shoot 1080p while the rear facing camera can shoot 4K. That was the only reason. 4k gives more scope to when editing the footage in post

    • @stacie_everdell
      @stacie_everdell 4 года назад

      @@RavKan I believe we are getting confused by the words. When I say the better camera is on the front, I mean the side you usually use to take photos of others (not the screen side). The camera on this side has the higher resolution and is the side I would face towards my subject, unless I was taking a selfie. At 2:57, you have the phone upside down, with the lower rez side (the screen side) facing down toward the table, your subject.
