I remember being struck by a line that Keneau Reeves (in one of his earliest roles) had in the Steve Martin film "Parenthood". Reflecting on his character's appalling dad he said something like, "You have to have a licence for driving a car; you even have to have a licence to own a dog; but they let any a**hole become a parent." I was not a parent at that time, not even dating, but the line stuck with me.

Exactly. Phones and other devices have a lot to answer for. Whilst travelling on a bus a small baby was in a pram just parked in the space for it. It was hot and I kept looking around as to who might be the Mum as no one was checking on the baby. Yes it was quiet maybe sleeping but how did the Mum know. Found out the Mum was the one sat not far away playing on her phone and didn’t even look in the babies direction. Even when she pushed the baby off the bus I never saw her check on it. Glad I grew up before phones.

One big problem is that we watch people on social media talk about this abomination, but we don't do anything about it.
I remember when Netflix released the film _Cuties_ and the woke crowd was chastising its "far right" critics.

I remember those posts defending that awful film. All those folks defending the director - claiming that the film got hate because it was made by a black woman (i.e. - the criticism was all based around sexism/racism) rather than the fact the film was 100% child exploitation/borderline child p*rn.
And Ironically it was the far right putting their kids on display and the far left defending it.... Make it make sense.

I agree with you 100%. We must protect our children. Kids need to be allowed to live their childhood. This whole thing is crazy.
Concentrating on teaching children about sexuality used to have a term. It was called GROOMING. When are we going to wake up and recognize that?
While I disagree with what Disney and Nick are doing, I don't think that leaving it to chance which is the practice that western parents use is any better. The truth is that anyone who is a parent and pays even a little attention to their developing children know that sexuality is developing as well. We treat it as though it turns on like a light switch and that involves the error of negligence.
Grooming is something that we do with every part of a child's mind. With the Prussian system of education we groom kids to be good citizens of the state. Yes, is also grooming, conditioning, indoctrination, use whatever verbiage that is available so I often wonder what people mean by sexual grooming when the default position in American society is complete negligence.
Also, a lot of what I am seeing on Disney shows and Nick TV are teenagers doing teenage things. I remember being a teenager and we were all sexually suggestive so I'm wondering how much of this is virtue signaling.

Red flags were at risk children targeted- exactly who they claim are LBTQ today, adults gifting to children, adults trying to keep secrets with other peoples kids, adults trying to replace parents in kids lives, adults looking to isolate children and make them dependent upon themselves, adults sharing their own sexuality. Adults would teach class about sex and then look for any student who seemed either interested or confused to ask them to stay after class or come back after school. It was all about undermining child's resources and autonomy to make a victim they could control.

I find most children irritating, but I also believe it's our job as adults protect them whenever we can.

you’re not wrong, but we can’t apply that to everything. We all know the conditions of the kids who mind some rare earths for your phone battery or the conditions of people who built the phone itself. if we honestly thought about all the bad stuff behind everything we enjoy we would go insane. You also don’t wanna ignore it either so it’s a pretty awkward situation.
I taught at a kindergarten in China for a year and a half and taught at a training centre for three and a half years before that and not once was there a topic related to sex and gender. I can't imagine how teaching kids about gender dysphoria and sexual identity is in any way better than teaching them how to make friends, read and how to be healthy.

This topic should not be a partisan issue. Protecting children from sexual predation should be something we all agree on. Thank you Bill Maher for being on the right side of this and speaking out.
“We are so tribal now that people will overlook child abuse if the wrong party calls it out”. As an outsider (Australian) looking in, I can honestly say that never a truer statement has been said.
The division along party lines is such an obviously damaging issue in America, but very few there seem to acknowledge it. Your country is radically divided by not only politics, but also by religion, and by colour, and by social and economic status, that I have no idea how you can call yourselves the “United” States. There is absolutely nothing whatsoever you are united on. What’s that expression… Divide and Conquer?

More and more TV shows are filmed outside of CA and NY. The kidinfluencer is not one by choice because most of these are young, young children. They also are making money for their family but get none of the proceeds. I occassionally watch a couple of channels with Big Brother contestants families. Jessica/Cody and Jeff/Jordan. They don't use their children for content. They are crawling around, etc. But the adults are the "stars". Another BB contestant Aaryn though uses her children for content in that she posts pictures of them which pedofiles might really like. Sick, sick, sick. I don't follow her I just heard about it online.

I worked at church youth clubs. As a counselor, you needed to have a background check and to make a legal document in order to work with kids. Even if the children were yours, you had to do that process to be able to help while at the club.
One man got offended when asked to take the background check. He was "disgusted" that we put in doubt his "integrity" by asking since 4 of his kids were part of the club.
Long story short, he was not accepted as a counselor.
Same. I volunteered with a kids charity. They required psych tests, background checks, a fingerprint clearance card, character references, and meetings with the social workers before they let anyone near the kids. It's how it should be.

I have to disagree. I’ve seen some people be easily offended by normal small kids behaviour when they’re actually decent kids from good homes.
Others don’t want the responsibility and burdens that comes with having them.
I agree, I'm one of those people, to be fair, there are children that are a joy to be around but otherwise I either don't mind them or I actively dislike being around them because of how much like their incompetent parents they are, I've tried giving advice to these types of children so they can get along with people better but nowadays I just keep my interactions to a minimum since it isn't my responsibility to fix the poor job these parents do and I just want some peace

I remember when I was crossing through the living room one day where my granddaughter was watching that show and glanced over and frozen when i saw a young girl on the show bent over the back of a couch wearing a pleated checked mini shirt while she's talking to a boy on the couch and another boy is in the room. I freaked out on my daughter anout the show and was told I was over reacting. I've always hated the way young girls started getting sexualized on shows. That to take action oneself is a form of vigilantism, and therefore criminal. But fortunately for the world it's not just straight white men at this point fighting against the predation of children and the erasure of women by the gender lunacy. More, people men and women of all ethnicities, and not just straight either, are finally pushing back on this.

Specifically about gender disphoria it needs to be said that is has been well documented with a lot of work done on it as one of many mental afflictions and should be treated as such first. If counseling fails and this person has pondered what it means to go forth with the surgeries and hormone treatments - becoming a lifelong medical patient with a heightened risk for a few cancers due to prolonged hormone usage - then sure. But have them pay for it, I don't agree with tax payer money going towards such cosmetic surgeries and they should not be given preference over breast cancer survivors or burn victims if they do get public funds. Also the decision has to be an informed one and you can't do that, not truly before you are 21 to 25 years of age (when your brain is finally fully developed, particularly the areas tasked with impulse control). I mean you can only drink alcohol and buy a gun after you are 21 or, with regards to guns, 18 if you are in the military or law enforcement, if I heard right (completely agree with this by the way and if it's not across all the US it should be) but a kid aged 12 can consent to puberty blockers and go against his or her parents in doing so? When they do not know how bad that will impact their lives and can't even make such informed decisions at all? It's absurd and more so than absurd it's evil.
With my kiddos from the age of 2-16, I watched everything they did in case they had questions. They're 29 now, and recently told me thank you.
My parents did that. The focus was always on 'we'll watch and discuss as a family' and never about just plunking someone in front of the TV. And my parents worked long hours at factory jobs. We did have the benefit of our babysitter being our aunt Brenda, who also did what I'm describing. But the point is, we focused on discussion rather than an assumption that TV could or would substitute for family.

My theory, those that complained about the film, are the ones the film is calling out.

I watched Quiet On Set last night. I have never been so angry. The excuses parents used for ignoring the abuse and if they did see it not saying something, absolutely disgusting. What they should have said was “I knew but all I cared about was the money that my kid was making.”

I'm a teacher and I would like to know where the schools are that teach ths crap. I've never worked in a school where this happens. Instead of claiming it's in our schools, start giving out the names of these schools instead of making it look like all schools are like this. Put the blame directly on the perpetrators!

Hello? The world has always exploited children. Read some history. The world is arching towards treating children better not worse and if you think otherwise - well like I said read history. You can start with how child labor laws became a thing in the US and why mandatory education became enforceable. Then you can go farther back into human history to truly horrific times.

Ty sis. As a mom living in one of the most “progressive cities” (pdx) I have to be on my kids. They don’t get TikTok, I’m all up in their tablets, devices will get put on hold for weeks if I’m seeing changes in behavior, and mostly I’m constantly checking in to make sure their school isn’t force feeding or even subliminally indoctrinating them with this child abuse ideology. I hope we can stop this train wreck of medicalized kids asap.

Wow, the handicap statement is spot on. I didn’t know how to react to them as a child. I remember there was a school right next to my home and this man (I think he was autistic) would wave high to me everyday when I walked home from school. I didn’t wave high back because I was scared and was never told why he would or what he had. I didn’t know what autism was. I now have an autistic daughter and every day my heart breaks knowing I could have brought him a smile just by being kind. 💔

It is biologically absurd to introduce issues about sexuality and identity to people who do not have sexuality or an identity. You do not develop the physical brain structures for these until puberty.

Great video. As someone who didn’t have children, one of the biggest mistakes I see is that parents believe their children are “old enough” to be left to their own devices. I’ve seen it with 8 year olds, with 12 year olds, and with 17 year olds. Parents might feel fatigued, or might be tricked by their kid’s vocabulary. But they are still dealing with very young humans who need protection and guidance. But these days parents are so quick to say “I’ve done enough” & leave their kids to figure out the good from the evil. I’d say it’s at least 21 years old before kids can make better decisions.
My mother worked in Hollywood as a child, and her mom was on set EVERY DAY. Never was there a meeting or rehearsal or anything without her presence. Yes, talk to/about the parents.

Never thought I would agree with Bill Maher, but here we are.
A child's core values, their sense of right and wrong, are fairly well established by the time they are ten years old. Those values are the foundation that they build their morals and their belief system upon going forward into their teens and into adulthood, and while time and experience may change certain aspects of their personality and their views on certain things, it will take something significant to change those core values once they've been established. That is why they are being targeted in elementary schools and in daycares. When the left said, "We're coming for your children," and, "we'll convert your children," they meant every word of it, so you had better start taking them seriously.

My sons were raised in a conservative setting. We aimed for an “open door, loving and inclusive attitude towards all their friends” we weren’t perfect and made many mistakes. We lived this. We didn’t just talk about it. That said, the public school system ruined their minds. It was purposeful and systematic. What is wonderful is now, with all the insanity, the lights are coming back on. Good men. Thinkers. Kind.

Lots of places (schools, churches, etc) have rules in place to prevent any adult or older teen from being alone around children or younger teens. Wokeness is explicitly anti-liberal. Even Critical Race Theory (CRT) officially states "We stand against the values of liberalism, constitutionalism, objectivity and The Enlightenment."
Liberalism is based on personal liberty and individuality, not censoring dissenting opinions and forcing people to think a certain way. What they call "liberal" today is warped so far beyond it's original meaning, it no longer bears any resemblance.
Wokeness has nothing to do with classic liberalism, it’s actually fascist and reactionary. Sides have been flipped: today’s “right wingers” are now the civil libertarians and real liberals, while the “leftists” and “progressives” are the big-state authoritarians, modern-day fascists.
Was it ever? The basic premise of liberalism was that you don't see colour, sex, sexual orientation, etc. Wokeness is about seeing those things everywhere. That seems like the antithesis of liberalism that I grew up with.
