This is a sample tune written by the Toto boys and originally was a way for Jeff Porcaro to display and sample cymbals for a Modern Drummer issue. I have the vinyl sampler that it came on...Gavin does it justice

@ mrbinary1001 The sticking is RLRRLF RLRRLL RLLR F is for foot. There is also a foot on the the first and the last two right hands, and this pattern is repeated.
Dunno why that got you thumbs down, I know exactly what you mean; this IS the unreachable goal of drumming. If you watch this and play afterwards you just feel worthless :P
Seems more like double paradiddles. It could just be different combinations of single and double strokes accented in various places and thrown all over the kit. He would do that.
What's even worse is that he plays with the same style I try to play with. So, he pretty much plays like how I would play if I was better than I will ever be... which I will never be.
Hehe, no, don't get me wrong, I am inspired. However, realistically... I don't think I'll ever be this good. It's only discouraging if my goal is to be one of the best drummers of all time, which he is. I just want to be good and have my own style.

I think its paradiddles on the hi-hat but he moves the single R and L strokes onto the chimes or snare etc. Thats just a guess though.

It's a drum clinic. The purpose is to showcase the drums. If he just sat there and played a basic backbeat everyone would get bored.
