    Lifting the back knee while raising the arms was a challenge! I was just able to do it on one side, but the other didn't work. I will keep on working on it, but is there an alternative other than keeping the hands on the ground?

    • @YogawithJoelle
      @YogawithJoelle  2 года назад +3

      Well done Katrina! As silly as it may sound, one thing that helps me work towards achieving new things is to 'tell myself' what I'm going to do. So literally tell yourself in your own head, 'I'm going to lift my left knee now' (or whatever it is you're working on). Even if the knee doesn't lift (yet!), the neural pathways start to fire, because they're trying to figure out which muscles need to activate and what actually needs to happen for the knee to lift. In the beginning, it may feel impossible. But eventually, the body really does figure it out! You might also like to try my psoas routine to keep working on some of these areas: ruclips.net/video/3ldvYlJD0D8/видео.html Hope that helps!

      @@YogawithJoelle Did this today for the first time in a while, and I managed to lift the back knee while raising the arms. One side was easier than the other and the harder side I didn't stay up for the whole time, but definite improvement!!!

    • @YogawithJoelle
      @YogawithJoelle  3 месяца назад +1

      That all depends on where you're tight and how often you practice, but hip flexors are certainly a big part of that pose!
