For carbureted engines hooked to automatic overdrive transmissions, you should look into the linkage kit from Bowtie Transmissions in Southern California. They have a kit that includes a new kickdown spring for the transmission and a special cable setup that controls the throttle and transmission much better.
I'm looking at a 1966 f100.. looks like the same type setup.. I'm 6'3" tall and sit in it fine.. the has pedal it's is uncomfortable. Will the bolt on the assembly come out to adjust the lower part and pad down?
There is a bolt that goes through the main assembly - this can be loosened and you can adjust the angle between the pedal and the linkage arm - does that answer your question? The pad on the bottom of the pedal is welded
