- In this video we install Speedways mount to the firewall gas pedal, and use the Mr. Gasket Throttle Cable kit 5657 to connect it to the carburetor.
It's so great seeing your shop and projects! totally awesome fabrication action
I still struggle to get views though. I always follow your posts. Thanks for the comment.
yeah views are hard to capture with the RUclips algorithms ... takes so much to keep an audience watching and for RUclips to then put a video in front of other viewers ... tough stuff! @@ThrottleStopRacing
@@metaspencer That and so many topics have already been done that it is hard to come up with stuff that has not been done.
maybe it's not about the topic per se or if something has or hasn't been done, but instead about the story you're telling and world you're showing in every video ... just a thought@@ThrottleStopRacing
@@metaspencer Interesting, what I cannot figure out is I have 5.8K subscribers but only get about 400 views.
My first car (1961) was a '49 Chevy, nice to see one being resurrected.
Well it will be resurrected as a gasser, not a stock car. It was in pretty good shape when we started the project. Thanks for your comment.
Using this video for a universal gas pedal and cable install on my 67 Jeepster commando with a Holley 4 barrel on it. Thanks for the detail!
Good luck on your project.
Very good job 👍
Thank you very much, and thanks for taking the time to comment.
Great fab work - looks solid. Another item checked off the list.
I have gotten two comments back that say the Mr.Gasket throttle cable fails in a racing environment. As always thanks for your comments.
Great video Glenn. Just fyi that cable will not stand up to racing. Broke 3 before I came up with something better. 2 if the the little ball on the cable broke on my FED. China.. love the gasser videos hope your at blue suede cruise at some point.
I was not happy with the connection at the carb. Guess I had better look for a different cable. Thanks for the comment, what did you use?
Great video. Ive been watching videos about aftermarket pedals and cables. My 78 C10's throttle cable attaches to the pedal with a plastic collar that has broken twice now. Sucks when you're speeding down the highway then you cant accelerate!
I would not buy the MR. Gasket cable, mine has broken and am in the process of finding another brand.
I'm trying to install the same set up. I don't follow instructions well, you're helping. Thanks ehh
I was not happy with the Mr. Gasket throttle cable, it has fallen apart on me already. Thank you for the comment
I would get a stock GM cable it will mount right up at the carb, but will take some modifying at the pedal. That pedal has to bottom out at WOT, so you can just mash it without pulling the cable apart and that way you don't take the throttle shaft out of your carb over extending it.
You are the second person to say that the cable will not hold up. I will look int a stock cable, thanks for the comment.
I've got a 69 Nova that I just built a sbc427 for. I am working on the throttle linkage. Can you do a video on how to remove the old cable assembly? Can figure out how to remove the cable from the pedal and don't want to damage anything.
Sorry I cannot as I do not have a stock linkage to remove. I will be removing the Mr. Gasket linkage as it has already failed.
