I've been looking for this Sir Robert Mark ad forever!
He was an excellent copper.
I wish they would bring back the Cabana chocolate bar. Pure heaven. Looks like Lesley Ash in the Girobank ad...before the trout pout.
These ads are actually from 1981 - the break bumper makes it obvious that they were recorded from Westward, which went off air at the end of that year, and a search of the British Stamps site confirms that those stamps were issued in 1981 (the music in that ad is "Kidlington Green" by Ivor Slaney, btw).
Lots of synth back then
Kenny RIP. me and my sister loved those feet things...didn't remember the ad at all.
The Heineken advert is so full of innuendo. Funny : )
Nice to hear Kenny Everett doing the Funny Feet voice over. Am I right in thinking these ads were from Channel, going by the break bumper?
1:21 Licking someone's foot has never been so enjoyable! 2:45 I can't imagine Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe doing adverts for tyres these days - I always think of the late Sir Robert Mark a bit like what John Stalker was 20 odd years later - the retired police officer who, now having more time on his hands, has decided to put his past experience to promoting crime prevention aids in the ad breaks. By the way, I love how you put "finger in the dyke" as a description of the Heineken advert. Innuendo alert!
the opening music is from hanna barbera cartoons - whenever fred flintstone drank something that had a kick to it etc
Nope. Stunningly awesome commercials, yet I don´t remember a single one.
Nostalgia wasnt like.this in my day
Lol yeah those were the days. I've never tried Daleks but I loved the strawberry Mini Milks which were only 10p and I remember a 99er cone was only 20p. I wonder what the going rate for a 99er is these days? If you still enjoy a good icelolly I recommend the Tropical Solero. I tried one last week on the one and only hot day we had here, it was awesome. £1.40 each though.
I love the cake commercial!
Leslie Ash was in the Giro Bank ad.
Westward. The ads are actually from 1981 according to Robin Carmody.
@anxresi Inclined to agree. Though were not the forerunners of Minstrels called Cabanas too?
2.5 ft "the width of a couple of pedestrians", clearly this wasn't an American ad 😂
was that Cuddly Ken on the funny feet voice over?
Good adverts there including another great Heineken one. I find that one quite funny. When was the British 10p coin featured in the Girobank one launched? And is Nadim Sawalha related to Julia and Nadia, both TV personalities? I mentioned the Heineken one, I can also recognised the music that was also used in the Milk advert of the early 1990s. Any ideas as to the name of the piece I am referring to?
he is their father
Has to be the fresh smell of Tommy Vance
i'm sure it's at least 1981...the Cabana advert was definitely earlier then 82
Nadim Sawalha is Julia and Nadia's father, yes.
Wow, I looked to see if I could find those stamps on eBay they're £1.85 which adjusted for inflation means they've lost half their value.
They've brought funny feet back
They were the best tasting icecream.
What region was this taped in? Because that's the most half-arsed commercial bumper I've ever seen.
with the acumulated interest i have contacted a super computer and worked it out to the nearest decimal point and your total is.....3 pound and a qaurter of 1 pence
Cabanas........drool.
can someone tell me why cabana the best chocolate bar ever is no more
i still crave them ,,maybe ill just try and make one haha
funny feet were bloody nice aswell,,can you still get them or do we have one direction lollies or some shit like that now?
Every product a winner....to make Britain proud...ermmm....heheheheh
I believe Girobank still have £3 of mine, btw....wonder what the interest is?
would be itv or channel four,,,no ads on bbc
I have a question, is this BBC, ITV or Channel 4, good video though!
Well it isn't BBC as the BBC is owned by the public, whereas ITV is owned by a company that relies on advertising to fund its shows, while c4 is part public owned part private company
i wanna cabana
A cake you actually have to mix up and bake? That wouldn't work today - I mean, you'd have to do some work and wait more than 2 minutes !
What happened to Funny Feet? You can still get those flavourless Fabs or Feasts with that disgusting cheap chocolate centre but no more Funny Feet.
I want a cabana! and a lion that can open post office banking by trotting in the blue. Bitching!
