I agree with you regarding your family. I only knit/crochet for my family, I can only do my best work for the actual name of a person, not for the bureau or the closet. We are a versified family and we need love out here, by giving a handmade garment Hand made garment to an individual is so loving. Denise, I agree wholeheartedly with your opinion of "selfish knitting". I knit to improve my mental health and inspire my creativity and the creativity of others around me who knit. What a shame that some people find a need to label knitters for what they chose to knit and whom they choose o knit for. Is everyone who has a hobby expected to give their 'hobby' away to family and friends at Christmas and birthdays. That annoying passenger will always be there and I’m sorry to say sometimes he will get a little loud, but sometimes he will sit down and be quiet. What ever you’re going through with your son’s health it most be a really hard thing to go through. Don’t ever forget that nothing is too big of a problem when we trust God and put our burdens in his hands. Give him the control and trust he will not let you down. God is the most amazing father but we need to learn to let him guide us and place all our problems in his hands and trust his will.

I am so blessed to have a friend I met in second grade that I can share everything with and believe me at 79 with have shared it all. Through every phase oof our lives, we have been there for each other sharing tears of joy and tears of sadness. Denise, I agree wholeheartedly with your opinion of "selfish knitting". I knit to improve my mental health and inspire my creativity and the creativity of others around me who knit. What a shame that some people find a need to label knitters for what they chose to knit and whom they choose o knit for. Is everyone who has a hobby expected to give their 'hobby' away to family and friends at Christmas and birthdays. Let's be more generous to fellow knitters and drop "selfish knitting" and just encourage each to follow their own heart. Thanks for your podcast and your lovely attitude. Jacki

I am so glad you got to ugly cry and release all that you were holding onto. I pray hard too sometimes, sometimes I even write the prayers down to keep them straight in my head. I’m glad your prayer answered in the form of the doctor appt. That annoying passenger will always be there and I’m sorry to say sometimes he will get a little loud, but sometimes he will sit down and be quiet. I was (and still am) a caregiver, and it is a very hard and sometimes lonely path. I felt surrounded by people, but isolated at the same time. What ever you’re going through with your son’s health it most be a really hard thing to go through. Don’t ever forget that nothing is too big of a problem when we trust God and put our burdens in his hands. Give him the control and trust he will not let you down. God is the most amazing father but we need to learn to let him guide us and place all our problems in his hands and trust his will.

And I hate that phrase, too. I mostly knit for myself, with occasional gifts for close friends and I don't feel guilty about it. Knitting is my peace, and my sanity, and I love wearing the things I make.
We just made a huge move overseas and dude, because of you I'm so excited to knit some socks with real sock yarn!! They basically only sold acrylic yarn where I lived so I just can't wait 😆
Selkie? I love it. Have you seen the movie -The Secret of Roan Inish-? It's set in Ireland and the selkies are mythological sea creatures, half women, half seal. And well, it's just a sweet movie. So I think that grey yarn is the color of these seal/women creatures! The other colors look gorgeous, too. Also, I'm excited about your new sock pattern!

I am so blessed to have a friend I met in second grade that I can share everything with and believe me at 79 with have shared it all. Through every phase oof our lives, we have been there for each other sharing tears of joy and tears of sadness. Glad to hear better news for your son’s condition, noting worse than a scary illness for our children. Your socks were lovely as usual. I have done your shadow wrap heal , I took your shorty class also. I was wondering if you know of the princess bottom of a sock , I heard some talk of them with people that are bothered by the feel of knit socks, I am one of them 😊, I turned my socks inside out and they didn’t bother me one bit. Would that be just knit on the sole? Can’t wait for your new pattern too👏👏👏
