    I have just found you on RUclips and I am so pleased. You are inspiring and I love your style. I am quite old but I still want to look interesting and as a spinner, felter and sometimes weaver I enjoy seeing how people have developed their style and skills. Thank you , I look forward to watching you regularly.😊

    I just finished watching your lovely, cozy video. It’s been hard day here in the US, after our contentious election. It was just what I needed, slow making, cozy and filled with lovely makes! Thanks for making my day so much more tolerable and brighter, emphasizing the important things in day to day life. 😊

      @ Thank you for your support! So many of us are shocked and saddened and frankly, embarrassed. Hopefully things will turn out ok, but we are scared also. That’s why making is so therapeutic, especially with this wonderful world community of peace and love! 💕

    I have just stumbled across your podcast. It’s so refreshing to see the slow fashion and natural fibres you make and wear. The planet would be a lot happier if everyone had the same values and lifestyle.

    I love all your videos, they really inspire me to get working on my knitting and sewing, spinning and dying as well. I tried growing indigo this year, just brought my plant indoors for the winter, we'll see how it does. I love that you know the color pallet you love. That's a hard one for many people. "Handmade" has had such a bad reputation, but I'm so thrilled that folks are rejecting that and showing that clothes can be handmade and look even better than mass produced items. Please keep doing what you are doing!

      Thanks for comment, Patti, that was really lovely to read. I'm going to have more of a go at growing indigo next year, I just ran out of time to process the leaves before they started flowering this year, but fun to try and I will save their seeds :) enjoy all of your lovely projects 😊

    Hi, I’m new to your channel. What a lovely episode. I’m in my 60’s and would love to have a (mostly) handmade wardrobe. You have such practical yet lovely makes that I am encouraged to get back in the sewing room and put some effort into making things fit. I love to knit but do find that I don’t need a perpetual round of new knits. Sewing some merino tops would be a great addition. Thank you for the encouragement!

    Hello Lorna. The reason most of us watch your videos is because they are so interesting with all the crafts we love, and done in a lovely calm way. I so look forward to your videos. What is actually normal is considered slow by some people because we are so used to the frantic rush on TV and social media these days. I’ve heard other RUclipsrs say that they have received really upsetting and personal comments and have nearly decided to stop their channels. Please don’t ever stop because of these ignorant people. I do love watching your videos and find them a place of calm while I'm doing some mending, knitting or sewing so I feel your sadness over negative comments about your video. It's lovely to find someone with the same ethos about crafts and the gentle way of making, so thank you for all you share, I'm sure that the majority of your subscribers will be of like mind Lorna! (I have been volunteering at our local Repair Cafe for the last year and am feeling a bit deflated by the lack of interest in mending textiles. In the last three monthly meetings, in spite of advertising locally, we have had one man who has brought a canvas messenger bag to be repaired. I'm not sure what the answer is or why the message isnt getting out there. The electrical repairers always seem to have plenty to repair!!) Are the large green squash Crown Prince? Best wishes.

    • @threadandyarn
      @threadandyarn  13 дней назад

      Thanks for your message, Kate. That's a shame - I wonder if it's because electrical items are more expensive to replace, and people have become too used to cheap clothes that can easily be discarded and replaced. Keep going, what you're doing is so important! And I'm sure that man will be very grateful for his repaired bag. I'm glad you like the videos and find them calming. I also love hearing that people are working on a project while listening :) yes there are some crown prince, and also some Queensland Blue and Black Futsu (tastiest, even more than CP I'd say!)

This comment knocked you off balance, but maybe try to use these comments as an opportunity to check in with your goals and commitments. You be you and have a right to your place on the path.💗💗

    I prefer watching RUclips videos too where you can appreciate the creator’s direction and storytelling. Is it just me, but i find 40 sec clips in shorts or Tik tok really annoying, I don’t see the need to speak 120 words per minute to get your message across. Yes for this reason, I love watching your videos and marvel at your wonderful makes….slowly!!

  • @jilliankonig2759
    @jilliankonig2759 23 дня назад +1

    Why don't you add elastic to the back of the dungarees? It would hold them closer in the back, which is where the looseness originates. If you don't adjust the straps, you could sew them onto the bib in the front and the dungarees will feel a little more like a jumpsuit. Don't worry about the Debbie Downers. Life online has created anonymity at the same time that parents have stopped teaching their children to keep their negative thoughts to themselves. Mending is a lost art. I've been sewing for over 60 years, and knowing how to sew makes me look at everything differently. I am more creative in every area because of sewing. Mending Matters by Latrina Rodabaugh is a great story and how-to on the subject. It is better to put the elastic in a channel, and maybe secure them at the quarter points, than to attach the elastic to the waistband. The latter is less flexible if you need to adjust the waist later.
