@@nitzshou5835 yessir, i remember i wasnt gonna go off a drop under a chair, then people started hyping me up and i fucking sent it and almost ate but had a nice recovery
I have a friend who ski patrolled Kirkwood in the early 1980s. I think this was the run where he was inspecting for avalanche danger and broke a slab free and got buried way down slope. In totally darkness he makes a small air pocket and spits; it goes up his nose and thinks "oh shit, I'm fucked." Then he blacked out and woke up on a rescue helicopter.
While the avy is moving it flows remarkably like water which is why the inflatable packs are so good. Once it stops moving it basically instantly adheres and you are never digging yourself out if you don't have an arm above the snow pack.
At least that started off amazing lol Edit: Holy the likes. Haven't tried this portion of The Wall yet, but I really want to. Hopefully I ski as well as this guy's start! Edit 2: Did this run today (video on my channel) and while I can't say I skied it as nicely as this guy, I survived and that's what matters! :)
@@wetsockoutdoors8538 LMAO what else am I supposed to watch during the off-season, I have to find some way to cope with the pain of not being able to ski! 🤣
Bro, I was terrible at skiing Heather Canyon at Mt Hood Meadows and was looking for some help on how to improve. Thanks for the tips and I will try them next time I go up.
That’s just how I did it the first time ..... but it was icy and I slid about a hundred feet further down 😂 I appreciate how confident you looked though
Guts & glory, this is gonna hit a million views as soon as the skiing community wakes up from covid. Love how the pole comes waddling up to the bar at the end.
Riding that chair you can usually see at least one person take that slope head first. If you blow it near the top, it's about a 100 meter carnival ride before you stop sliding.
@@arjunski As someone who skis Alaska's terrain, its not that bad. Christmas chute at Alyeska is 45° and its not a short 50ft, its hundreds. Next to it is "The North Face", the longest, steepest continuous ski run in North America. Best way to get down easy is jump turns and firm pole plants or straight-line the fucker and stop at the bottom with ur jelly legs.
Skied at Kirkwood ~20 yrs ago. Friends took me up The Wall chair - "you'll love it" - got to top to see the skull and cross bones sign - why wasn't the sign at the bottom of the lift? Me: slid 1/3rd way down The Wall. Still - Kirkwood is great place.
No hesitation, sent it, and beefed it. Like a true legend
more like a true dumbass

The half assed snow check really ties this together for me
"Yup, it's snow"
just slapped the snow and said it’s good
Extremely high avalanche danger there. Safety first.
That actually made me laugh. i love it
@@src248 **slaps the roof of snow** yup, this bad boy can fit so much skiier on it
That's just how I do it! Usually right under the chairlift with hot girls watching.
if people on the chair start hyping u up, u gotta send it no matter what
@@nitzshou5835 yessir, i remember i wasnt gonna go off a drop under a chair, then people started hyping me up and i fucking sent it and almost ate but had a nice recovery
That's the best way to do it
That’s how it has to be done.
this is the way
These days you never know til you actually watch the video. Thanks for the laugh.
Not gonna lie, he had me in the first half!
Lol props for giving it all the gas, next time, go no brakes too!
Yea

The sign literally said you were going to die.
I am a kirkwood local and you definitely skied that like a pro
What a legend! “Send it,” are the only words in his vocabulary 🤙
You ate it. You owned it. Well done! (And I truly appreciate your confidence going in)
I have to be honest, I did it for the first time today and all I could think about beforehand was your video. Happily, it worked out well.
Not what I expected but still good
man, I really thought it's a pro, :)
This turned my day completely around 🤣 Thank you and I hope you didn't have a hard time getting up after the fall because of your giant lead balls.
That definitely brings back some of my embarrassing memories. I feel a bit better now. Thanks for sharing

The sign 🙄😐
u r the best skiier without a doubt, the best, nobody better THE BEST
No hesitation and you sent it that’s a success in my book
dude, the camera movement is so smooth! the fall was amazing xd

Yes! You sent it.
Was gonna say "like a pro? That shit aint even steep!" then the sarcasm slapped me in the face.
Oh it's def steep... Still tho lmao. I mean, he's not a bad skier
It's definitely steep my g, way steeper then it looks on camera!

Ahh yes like a pro 🔥. It’s the typical crusty snow for me 💀
Skied past the "experts only' sign like an absolute champ!
not a single shout, true legend
That's right, to really ski the wall you have to go past the skull and crossbones sign and then go off the cornice.
absolutely cracked me up...rolled up like a boss, ready to go, then a good ole woooops im rollin! hahaha cheers mister antichicken :))
Should have pole whacked repeatedly at the top and screamed "I'M GONNA RIP THE SHIT OUT OF THIS," that would have guaranteed a butter-smooth run bro.
We all fall at times if were pushing the limits. But this didn’t look overly difficult?
Nah, just unexpectedly icy and embarrassing
I remember falling down this run like a pro.

Literally same for me 22 years ago except I went down 80% on my ass 10% on my skis 10% on my head
Such a money title for this video. Well done.
this made my day
Now I know what Jaidenanimations had to deal with lmao
REAL LOL
Never knew I was a pro until this video
Lovin the commitment..
I don’t know why I briefly expected this to go any differently
Rip young jaiden
Wow 😳 that's great technique, you should really look into becoming a pro!
I wish videos showed steepness of slopes better. This looks so easy but judging on speed and the obvious fall it’s definitely way harder than it looks
I'll try this next time I go!
This was literally how i went down too
hahah personal best. happens to everyone. me it's the cat tracks, the connector runs that get me every time

Last season was my first season skiing and I did the wall by traversing. This video doesn’t really show why it’s called the wall.
That was awesome! Allstar! :)

I've done that. Biggest, longest yard sale of my skiing career.
This is about how it goes for me too.
Heck yeah! Shred it up my friend!
Well... literally a flying start.

if it looks steep on camera you know its ridiculous irl
Looks familiar. Slight hesitation into- Let’s GO! Then solid, solid, oh crap.. too FAST, spin out, clunk, crap, splat, slide, slide, flip, slide.. stop, snow clears.
Hmm, not bad.
Oh hell yeah!
That’s exactly how I did it!
I was wondering why this video was so short... LOL
I think the only addition would have been to loudly yell DROPPING to let everyone around know you're about to send really really hard
