There might be a cultural situation going on. They currently share a house with wife’s sister and her husband. Husband is hoping to break ties with them and move to a little cottage on his parent’s ranch, but wife isn’t wanting that. Is this a Hispanic or Latino couple, who each want to live with family, expecting them to help out ‘because they are family’? He’s going to have a difficult time when he tells his wife they have to sell the car, sell their share of the house, move to their own place, and take care of themselves.
