I am an avid motorcyclist and spend a lot of my extra money on them but if I ever ran out of an emergency fund or lost a job… I’d 100% sell all my bikes in a heart beat.
As the mother of an adult male, I can truthfully say that if my son had come to me and asked me to co-sign ANYthing, I'd have said "no. If the bank won't give you a loan, it's because you don't have the means to pay for it."

I divorced my husband after we discussed getting a motorcycle and I said no and he went to his parents and got them to confront me about it. I guess this is more common than I thought.

If you are an adult and Mummy is still cosigning your loans, there are some major issues financial issues that weren’t even touched on. Sadly I doubt marriage counselling will fix this, as mummy will always reassure and enable his immaturity.

It's a good thing to respect your mom and listen to her if she has a good point it's not bad at all but he should have priorities and shouldn't listen to his mom or any body if it's against him and his family , and if he is listening to his mom blindly without thinking and knowing what is right for his family then this is a big problem and she will suffer with him , Dave you didn't talk about financial matter if he should keep the motorcycle or sell it and what he should do with the money !

I would be divorcing him tomorrow and get me a lawyer and when I showed him how much alimony and child support he would have to pay to actually support his children then he would have to sell the motorcycle and I would say you either sell the motorcycle or we're getting a divorce your kids need to eat
