As a long-time carnivore... if you're craving fat, eat it!! Grab some clean butter (raw) if you can, freeze it into little bites, and eat it. It is soooo delicious. You can also heat the butter until it's nice and brown and smells like sugar, then freeze it as thin as possible. OMG! You will feel like you're cheating with this. You're doing awesome!!! Keep going!! Woot woot. The haters just have no idea what they are talking about and are most likey extremely unhealthy themselves. There is a huge carniovre family you can join through a you tuber called steak and butter gal.... she has all the dr on there that you'll need and so many shows to watch.
Ohhhh !! This girl has done her research!! She is listening to one of the most boring scientists on RUclips but at the SAME TIME one of the leading experts / researchers in the Ketogenic space !! That man is a genius!!! But must be listened to at 1.5 or 2x speed sorry Dr Westman
hi! im on my 6th day and def the sugar and cup cake cravings are hitting hard!! I noticed you dont have skin on your chicken? do you not care for it because that would help you with the cravings to keep it on, maybe, i dont know, 🐔
Ketone pee tests are not a good measurement tool. Your body is producing a bunch of ketones obviously because of how you’re eating. The question is: is your body using the ketones for fuel. Honestly, your body is probably not efficient at using them yet. If you have extra ketones that aren’t being used, they get excreted through the urine which is what happen at the beginning of a keto or carnivore diet. As your body becomes more efficient at using ketones for fuel, there will be less ketones excreted through the urine so it will actually show a lower ketone reading. People don’t understand that and start to freak out when their pee ketone results go down. The only accurate reading to use is a blood monitor for ketones. Its like a glucose monitor for diabetics but it test for ketones.
Pretty new to this stuff so correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't ketones going down in pee and breath be the exact sign that you start getting adapted to fat as fuel? I mean if you eat no carbs it should be pretty obvious that you are in ketosis, so the question is how well can you use it.
@@dose9083 eating the carnivore diet does not necessarily mean you enter Ketosis believe it or not. There are many factors that could keep you out of ketosis. Stress, lack of sleep, individual metabolic factors all can play a part but the likeliest culprit is you can eat too much protein and not enough fat which could keep you out of ketosis. Gluconeogenesis is the process of your body turning proteins into glucose which can raise your blood sugars and prevent you from entering ketosis. That’s why you want an accurate way to test if you are in ketosis. You are not wrong in the fact the lower ketones can be the sign of becoming more fat adapted. That’s what I was actually describing. In the video she said she was checking to see if she was in ketosis and then showed her using a pre strip. That’s why I commented because like I said it could get hard to pick up ketones in the urine or it gets much lighter so people think they are not in ketosis but they actually are. It’s just not an accurate way to test for ketosis. The only accurate way is with your blood. If you are following the carnivore diet and you see you are not in ketosis (from a blood ketone test) then the first thing you do is track your macros (if you haven’t done that already). Calories from fat should be somewhere between 60-80 percent of daily calories and you may have to adjust to your body’s individual needs. There are hidden carbohydrates as well. Things like cheeses, some meats like sausage, or seasonings can contain carbs. Knowledge is power. You might easily see your calories from protein are over 50 percent so if you’re not in ketosis you just make the adjustments and eat more fat.
You two are doing sooo good I’m proud of you two I keep hearing you two say how good and amazing you feel go with that.
To make your life easier with hard boiled eggs get a Dash egg cooker and The Negg to peel them. Game changer and saves you a ton of time
