That's great to know thank for your comment I really appreciate it this is what this video is for people like you and your appritiation makes it all worth it. When you do try it out let me know how you found it it would be good to know Thanks again Dave
Pre wrapping my bait ! How stupid do I feel ! Changing the bait was as time consuming as dealing with a birdsnest!! Thanks for cracking tip , it's also makes so much sense when using cocktail baits ( mackerel/ squid / sandeel) . Even make them at home for those cold nights when fingers don't work ..
It saves so much time rick and it's easy. As long as you know what your targeting and what baits you want it's great. Gives more time for drinking coffee 😂😂
Thank you for the sub Chris I really appreciate it I'm happy you like it let me know how you get on with doing And I hope you enjoy the other videos Thank you again
Hi am new to your channel and ive subscribed after seeing your live on sunday night it was really enjoyable Good tip it'll save me getting annoyed thanks
Thank you for the sub Stephen I hope you enjoy the videos on the channel and hope you enjoy future lives thank you for being part of it all I really appreciate it
No worries happy you like it Im taking the video off had some good feedback from people saying if kids watch it and cut the bait like you do in the video they could have there fingers I personally never have so didn't think about it
If it's a cocktail bait whipped together I go through the squid as it's tougher I prefer to leave the hook proud but you can set the hook through squid side in to rag and back up to have less point showing
@MarkPerry-fk1ot I would personally go for mono mark. If it's clean ground i.e sand you can use 12-15lb main line. If it's mixed ground or rough ground you can use 18lb-25lb. I personally use 20lb main line on rough ground. The best line I have used to date is varivas sport 20lb and in the colour yellow. Reason why it's easier to see night and day and helps you see slack line bites and help you see weed on the line etc. Also you can see it with a head torch at night. One more thing shockleader is very important. You need 10lb for each 1oz of lead so 6oz lead = 60lb shockleader and so on. I personally use 80lb shockleader and I personally use ultima power flex in yellow 80lb There is videos on the channel with tying shockleader knots etc if you wasn't sure
I just do it the annoying way so that I have something todo while the rods are out I’ll switch rigs and bait one up ready to get back in the water faster unclip one rig clip on the other and straight back in can’t go wrong!
Ye that is fair enough I do it this way purely because of winter when your hands get numb when they get wet again Summer it's fine just that biting cold in the winter this really does help and you can still do it while double patting
Thank you really appreciate the feedback Yes I have a page called Cardiganbay Fishing adventures it's the sort of back stage to the channel But every one is welcome to post anything boat or shore UK only post your catches asks for tips give tips etc
I use black amnesia so I can see where the elastic and line are, I then use either scissors or a small razor blade to cut the elastic off. Don’t like using a big knife because I’m accident prone lol
Great video, so simple when you know how 👍👍
Thank you happy you enjoyed it hopefully helped you out
Thank you
Yes mate it will make my life easier for sure. I’m just getting into bait fishing after many years of lure fishing and fly fishing 👍

So whats happens to the discarded bait with all the elastic on ?
Take it home and bin it daish.
If you watch some of my shore fishing videos I stress it in every video to not chuck it in the sea
Nice tip for beginners take care in the dark doing this. I find it better to slid the knife behind the hook shank and cut the elastic.
Yes you are right or use scissors this is just the way I have always done and didn't think when doing to video
Top tip that is dave cheers
No worries happy you like it Im taking the video off had some good feedback from people saying if kids watch it and cut the bait like you do in the video they could have there fingers I personally never have so didn't think about it
@@C3BFA jeez mate there is plenty of other videos more dangerous
I know but wouldn't forgive myself if Somone got hurt
I never have doing it that way but I just didn't think
@@C3BFA true mate maybe edit it to say any children will need to be supervised or something
I can't now it's uploaded would need to be a new upload
How did you get the baits wrapped so tidy and uniform ?
It's practice but it is a lot easier when there slightly frozen and keep the same tension on the elastic don't go really tight that mishapes the bait
When you hook it with ragworm too do you put the hook through the rag worm and squid
If it's a cocktail bait whipped together I go through the squid as it's tougher I prefer to leave the hook proud but you can set the hook through squid side in to rag and back up to have less point showing
cracking vid, mate
Thank you Mark I really appreciate it
ive just bought a new reel, what do you suggest mono or braid cheers mate@@C3BFA
@MarkPerry-fk1ot what type of fishing you doing mark i.e bait or lures and where from ? I.e shore or boat
Beach fishing mate and bait after codling

what bait you use in this video?
This was squid but work for any bait
I was doing black lug and squid wraps but Decided to make this video too
Tq sir
No problem

Why couldn't you of put this up before I went fishing last saturday night, would of saved me a lot of hassle 😂😂😂👍
😂😂😂😂😂 sorry but you know now 😂😂
Hey it's an excuse to get out to try it 😜😂😂😂
Weather doesnt look good this weekend but I'll give it a go once the opportunity comes 👍
Ye same here and the tides are getting smaller I went last night to try for cod had two huss and a dog
Better luck than I had Saturday night then.....bites on every cast but only got 1 bloody Whiting 😂
I use black amnesia so I can see where the elastic and line are, I then use either scissors or a small razor blade to cut the elastic off. Don’t like using a big knife because I’m accident prone lol
That's a good idea
Easier with scissors
I agree Dave it is and safer. To be honest I do use scissors now
