Boat fishing for BASS with top water lures & hand pulling recreational pots
In this video we go Bass fishing with top water lures & pull recreational pots. This is my first video with the new camera and sound recording equipment, which I hope will make better viewing quality for you all.
The pots were also loaded, we were lucky enough to find the Bass, and we even managed to capture some top water takes on the lure. I hope you enjoy the video.
Thanks Dave.

Reinforcing a boat keel and hull with fibreglass
Просмотров 395Месяц назад
This episode of the nab 17 restoration, I reinforce the keel and hull with fibreglass. I also show the preparation stages and laying the glass so there's no bubbles or excess resin. This hull is now solid and will last years and years. Next stage is to sand the rest of the old paint off and skim over the new fibreglass with filler then sand it all nice and flat ready for paint. I hope you enjoy...

The first proper video on the cardigan bay coble. I went out to pull the pots, this boat is so good at sea we had a 5 to 10 mph westerly wind which can be nasty on our coast. This coble handled it no problem. I hope you enjoy the video. Thanks Dave Instagram. cardiganbayfishingadventures Facebook fishing group. groups/589498471718375/ TikTok. www.tiktok.com/@cardigan...

The Triton cobles first sea trail

Did the first sea trail with the coble, She does 8.5knots flat out with two people on her and gear, I am Happy with that. She Criuses nice around 5-5.5knots at less that half throttle which is perfect for what I need for the inshore stuff. After doing the sea trail I seen a few bits I need to tweak but she is pretty much ready to go. It's a great little set up for the inshore stuff. So need to ...

Brilliant watch good to see you back I've went through alot myself over the last few months lost sister only 43 on valentines day just everything went wrong at the same time ⏲️ hard but nice to see you on the boat 🚢 😊
Hello Robbie, I'm really sorry to hear that. My issue are different but not bad if that makes sense. My wife has moved to Cardiff for uni I'm home alone with three kids working 5 nights a week and then doing two days on the charter boat I have to cook, clean do laundry do food shops do school runs etc my time is all taken so it's very hard to get out and make videos and then edit them aswel. I really do miss being able to just go when the conditions allow. But I July there's no more school. Runs as my youngest goes to high school so that frees up a lot of time. I'm coming back slowly and one day I will be back like. I was
Good to see you back at it bud
Thanks casters
Hi Dave, enjoyed the video... nice to see you back out on the water. The water was nice and calm for you. keep then coming..
@@gebear1 thanks bear. I do work a lot now but will try my best to keep videos coming as often as I can
Looks like a bunch of cowboys are doing the work, the South beach looks a right mess. Hopefully when they have finished pissing about the beach will be fishable again and easy to get to. Not bothered going down there for months as no access still I imagine.
Unfortunately your right it is a mess to be fair they are working with limited room for the size of the operation. Be nice when it's done and the entrance is all marked out correctly ans safely
Why can’t you use Lobster instead, 😊🦀🦀
I do t think you need to because this imitates lobsters flavours. I suppose you could try it see what it's like. But this recipe is for people that can't afford lobster I believe that's where it came from

Ye it was nice fish
Top work Dave
This was bad work I let him get me 🤣🤣
What a day for it.👍🏻🌞😎
It was perfect couldn't ask for better

Nice Video Dave great to see you back sounds good and great picture 👍
Thanks lunker not seen you for ages it's great to see you here. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks again
Looks amazing mate thanks for letting us come along 👍😎
That's no worries ja thank you for watching ans in glad you enjoyed it
two things firstly that kill switch lead is no good to you dangling down on the floor needs to be attached to you when going along bud . And secondly use some cheap drainpipe on the gunnels to protect them from the rope and chains
Your 100% right it's not and there is no good excuses for it either. Two reasons it wasn't on one it's flat calm two I was making a video to clip and unclip constantly is a massive pain and like I said they ain't good excuses but that's the reason why it's not in use in this video I was back and fourth to the camera. My last video you will see I use it it depends on the circumstances I have a mate who will build me a stainless gunnel protected he said just need to decide on a design. I have used drain pipe before ans it works well
Great video Dave great to see you catching the bass again on lures. It’s been too long. The pots did great too
It feels good to be back ans making videos again. Hopefully I can keep a few coming inbertween everything
Great picture just watching it now
Thanks Lee

Love the videos - I've just discovered your channel a few weeks ago. We are holidaying in New Quay end of August. I'm thinking of bringing a rod to try fishing with feathers for mackerel with the kids from the harbour or a beach. Any recommendations for good spots to try from around New Quay??? Thanks Rob
Thanks Rob I really appreciate it. Newquay pier with tide eup is your best bet but it's not very often we get the mackerel in August is probably the best month tho
Great vid mate. Spot on great lad
Thank you Shaun
Best piece of coast line in Wales without a doubt
I agree 100% Stuart
Class mate can't wait to get out.
Thanks Shaun
What a coastline you have down there!,looks really calm, hope the pot’s produced! Just been out local shore today,my brother had two flounder and a codling,my son got a nice flattie and i had two flattie and the thickest eel ive seen in a few years!,not keen on the slime, but nice too see 👍🏼
Ye it was a good few hours sloth. The video is out at 18:00 this eve
Looks great out they mate . Thanks for sharing
It was amazing theres a video out Very very soon of this evening out I caught some bass on camera and also pulled the pots even got the drone up for a short clip
Hi , I used to be a Sea Angler magazine casting instructor. I'll try and give some positive help, firstly you are right on a longer drop length to slow the pendulum swing down, but you are swing the lead to fast which will make timing the start cast difficult as it's going too fast. On your first pendulum you also got tip bounce this will muck up the pendulum swing. On the outswing of the pendulum the rod should be almost parallel with the ground, when the lead reaches the top of the outswing, you then push down and away with left hand and do not bring your right back towards you. If you have done this right, after the lead has swung back past you , you will feel as it goes over the top of the inswing, at this point you can start the cast. This is where most people learning the pendulum go wrong, they try and hit it at this point! You should sweep the rod around you accelerating as you do so , turn look up then hit it. It takes practice to get it right. There is no set style of pendulum it depends on you physical attributes. Thing to remember is you are trying to compress the rod and lock it and hold that, until you hit it. The only way way to hold the compression is through constant acceleration. The best way I can explain this is that the rod is both a spring and a lever, we want to store energy in the spring, the only way to keep that energy in the spring (rod ) is via constant applied force ( ie acceleration ). As soon as that force is reduced or removed , the stored energy is released. So over all my advise is slow it all down and find a local casting instructor, he will be able to analyse what you are doing and point you in the right direction and lots of practice. Any way tight lines and all the best!
Thank you for taking the tike to write all this I really do appreciate it. I will give it a try what your saying. Finding a casting instructor around by me isn't easy. I wanted to go to the casting downs down south Wales but I just can't get there as I'm always working on the days they have it on its very frustrating. I haven't been out practicing for a long time now unfortunately but I am very comfortable with the otg cast I do it without thinking now and not worring about how and when to hit it and it goes strait too. Been doing it with bait too. I will take on board what you have said and try it thank you for taking the tike to do this for me. Thanks Dave
This is the first time I've ever watched a video where my mouth actually watered!!! I have never heard of Poor Man's Lobster until accidentally coming across it on YT, and now I'm destined to make this dish this weekend... Thank you!!!
I honestly could not believe how good it is. Let me know what you think once you have made it. What fish you going to use?
Seen the spooligan stuff? Any good?
It looks great the spooligan stuff does. I personally haven't tried it because I have started using a rucksake not a box for the time being
@@C3BFA It s pricey but looks good quality ...just looking at accessory thing and clips for securing bungees on the side slits of my Shakespeare box.
@@markandrew1067 I think they look. Good and never heard anyone complaining so far. I think you will be happy with it
Top heavy will fall over with waves also no lid water all over the boat.
It never once fell over and it didn't spill either. If it did spill its not an issue as the automatic bilge would pump it out There was never any issues with this live bait tank
Just got one, yellow amazing more and more worms compared to the copper one I made 😁
Well Done Jon these are amazing pumps I'm still on the yellow seal belive it or not
@@C3BFA totally agree, just got to get used to the weight prob with being a thicker shaft, mint well I think I will stick with them can't see how suction could get any better than it is, 😄

@@jon-yb9fr no worries
what size of weight is commonly use, from 1oz to 10 oz
It depends where you fish really. Deep rock marks with tide 10oz My normal fishing on rough ground and mixed I use 6-7oz But then you might be flatty fishing and use 2oz I personally use 7oz 99% of the time
just try to fishing shad in columbia river by the dam, lots of rocks and current is very fast.

Was just reading about these works and it stated those big 3-10 ton boulders from Norway are for the North Pier extension if so why the hell dump them on the South Beach. Going to be a massive and costly undertaking to move them from there over to the North side.
It is I agree there's lots of things they are doing that no one understands but we not the ones building it. To me there's lots of money being wasted I don't get why it's being done the way it is ans in Aberaeron
Lol I can only dream... 😎👍🔥
On the west coast where I am near Aberaeron there is lots of bullhuss if you get chance to fish up here you should have one
