I’ve been using this retrieve for a while and it works! They usually take it on the fall and, this is also a great technique when the fish aren’t active. Any time of year!
When I'm doing this I tend to not use the screen on the retrieve. You can see them. I just find an area where there seem to bee some bass, Use live to cast past them, Then I consecrate on the retrieve because if you Don't see them (and there are a lot of times you don't) come hit it then you are not ready or relax and miss the bass.
This is exactly how I fish a jig! I love Trashmaster jigs and I usually use a Rage Craw as a trailer. For some reason my hookup ratio is lower with a bug style trailer.
@@BassGeek maybe cause I’m fishing mostly northern bass and they’re just smaller up here? There’s a LOT less plastic on a craw body to get into the fish’s mouth. I also may have wimpy hook sets?
Thanks for your info love your channel as always! You did get me turned on to trash, master jigs. I’m loving them and I love using my terminator jigs as well. Thanks again! I am going to try this stroke the jig technique wanna get better with a jig.
#100percentwatchsquad If there was only one technique or presentation I was able to do for the rest of my bass fishing life, a jig would certainly be it! I'm just an old jig fisherman and they put me in my happy place!
Hey Hank, Great info on the jig. I primarily use 3/8-1/2oz jigs with some sort of craw trailer. Bluegill or black & blue is the ticket for me in my area. Sooo many different trailers out there that it can drive ya nuts! I just try to keep it simple.#100percentwatchsquad👊
👍 Good Idea on spreading the weedguard The Pitzen’s a good knot but one extra small step and you could have an excellent knot - San Diego Jam Knot, especially with floro
Here in upstate new york I've been killing it on finesse jigs and the zman mini max chatterbait with a 3in swimbait trailer. In rivers mostly with smallmouth but also all my other bodies of water I fish around my area but I'm loving the smallmouth bite a ton lately 🤘🏻🎣💯

There's nothing like hanging a hog on a jig. What's up Geek. Keep at it, friend, good video.
Nothing at all.
Can you see the bass chase your bait up on ffs? For this technique should I use more crawfish colors or bait fish colors?
