I'm so disappointed in the cancelation I love that twin idea , and special effects was uniquely good , I haven't been excited since The mandalorian , hated to see those other characters die tho atleast so soon. I keep my subscriptions Don't forget to merch franchise next time big fan bases holds big criticism
I'm glad I stopped watching after episode 2 cuz this isn't the Star Wars I grew up on. She doesn't know the source material fundamentally, also she doesn't understand that while the Jedi of the prequels weren't the best they weren't wrong or evil. Their level of connection to the Republic and the war were misguided and bad but they were still starting from a place of good. I don't think George view the fall of the Jedi as a consequence of their hubris as leslye Headland interpreted today with her fanfic. Once u go woke they go broke
I think they realized that they messed up too hard, but I'm not sure that such characters want to turn things around and give fans what they want either. I don't really know where Star Trek or Star Wars is going to go from here. Stargate is our only hope, but it's being held up, why?
@@CinemaMaverick I think optimism is unreasonable, but they have 3 choices. 1. Cut their losses, drop the IP for the time or sell it. 2. Make what the fans want. 3. Appear to do 2, but actually try and walk the line, they might take this option but the fans will be so ready to ump on anything... it's not wise. Even 2 might be undermined by cynical and skeptical fans without some admission that entertainment needs to be about entertainment and not propaganda! Any message needs to be one that is widely agreed with and not something divisive and it still needs to be in second place behind good writing, characters etc...
They’re at a critical moment. The IP is extremely valuable for the parks and merch still but like you said they’ve overestimated the size, sticking power and spend of the “modern audience”. When you cancel Disney+ be sure to tell them it’s because of the Acolyte.
"She's one of the most succesful producers..." *Continues to show a list of movies, out of which 1 or 2 movies were good but all other movies seem to hang around 5.0-6.0 with their ratings, which is fairly low and almost even bad* I actually laughed when I saw the list. Either that was an excellent joke, or I'd really reconsider when someone is 'one of the most successful producers' if I were you.
1 or 2? You really can't be serious. That's not close to the full list of her credits. She has 25 Oscars and 120 Academy Award nominations. Most producers would give up their first born to be the producer on ALL Star Wars films, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Schindler's List, ET, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Sixth Sense, Indiana Jones movies, Twister, Cape Fear, Goonies, Gremlins and more.
Its shame that Lucas is leting tjis happen. It most be any clousaw in the contract with Lucas that hi can come in to Disney and demand that they dont destroy his lagacy as Disney do now. Lucas most do something, hi cant let this bad stawars shitt happen.
It certainly didn't deserve all the criticism it received but in my opinion as a lifelong Star Wars fan it was a deliberate attempt to undermine the morals and values, good vs evil that George Lucas established.
I'd argue that SW was already killed under Lucas with Ep 1-3. I rather watch ep 7 three time than any of those again. Redconning and agenda could work if the stories were any good... they are not. Watching back there were many problems with ep 4-6 (eeeewocks, etc.) but we overlooked that because the stories was compelling. Anyway, as a lifelong fan of starwars I stopped caring after EP 1 came out (the rot is deep and old).
Thanks for your comment but Episode 1 - 3 may be unliked by some vocal people online but they actually made more money than the original trilogy. The prequels repopularized the franchise and made Star Wars accessible to a new generation. As a result, they turned George Lucas into a Billionaire.
George Lucas said Star Wars was simply about "good vs evil." Leslye Headland said, The Acolyte was about "the bad guys." Rian Johnson repeatedly implied during the release of The Last Jedi that he wanted to deconstruct The Force, Luke Skywalker and Star Wars.

didn't make it past ep 2

They definitely messed up. Just not sure if they will change course.

I don't think so. Back in 2012 he trusted Disney and Kathleen Kennedy to carry on his legacy. I never trusted them.
I am an OG SW fan that watched the original SW in theaters. I loved the Acolyte and am sad that it was cancelled.

Said no one ever
Haha you have zero standards have you ever seen anything you didnt like?

"a means to undermine the whole StarWars Brand" stopped watching after that BS. Didn't like the Series, but seriously calm down.
U can calm down first 😂
