In a wide ranging chat you'll hear about...
Making the News Of The World album and why there are no drums on We Will Rock You
Competition between Rod, Freddie and Elton
Life in LA, questionable cookies and roast dinners with Rod Stewart
Collaborating with David Bowie and the challenges of making Under Pressure
Why drum machines are dreadful - even on I Want To Break Free
Why Top of The Pops and the BBC were "so crap"
Is Another One Bites The Dust a disco record?
And is Roger Taylor responsible for punk? Кино
Roger has aged so well. He still sounds like a young man. Handsome still. The stories that he must have and will never tell?
He was a very good boy! Alas, time is running out!
He'd look even better if he'd stop binge drinking. A bottle of white wine a day is nothing to him
So nicer to hear Rog talk about himself for a change and not be beleaguered with questions about Freddie.
yes. I always feel a bit sorry for Rog and Bri because they must always relive Freddie's death every bleeding interview! We all loved Freddie, he was amazing, but, ya know...Rog and Bri and John are all amazing too. John has taken himself out of the industry, fair enough, but Brian and Roger are still there bring us music and joy and I want to hear about THEM! Roger is so cool and smart and funny. Brian is in a league of his own, so kind and caring. LOVE them both to bits.
Agree
I don't think of it as being beleaguered to talk a bit about Freddie. What an insult. They were a fantastic band. It was an honor to know and to have been a friend of Freddie's.
@@janethuegerich6579 It's not necessarily an insult. It just must be nice for them to be able to talk about themselves for once, rather than have to constantly bring up Freddie's death. (Kinda like being the middle child, if that makes sense.)
It’s nice to hear about him
I love Roger's dry sense of humour.
It’s so weird because he sounds the same as his younger self that if I close my eyes I can easily imagine 70s-80s era Roger speaking
Wouldn't say that exactly, he talks somewhat slower now and seems to have difficulty understanding what someone is saying to him or asking him, this ofc could probably be due to the fact that he's deaf now
Queen... What a life those guys have had. They're like astronauts. Their career is like having gone to the moon and having come back. They know things none of us will ever know. How does it feel to play in front of 150 000 people adoring you and your music ?
On the off-chance you read the comments Roger, "Thank you" for everything. You're a legend and a true gent...and you made a lot of people very happy....
He still does and long may he continue to do so :-)
Roger is awesome, such a delight to see him relaxed. was fun watching this show.
Roger Taylor's still the coolest dude
Roger is lovingly outspoken in a very proper way. Just lures you in, like a good story teller should. And still very easy on the eyes. Good chat gents.
Oh yeah, my eyes really enjoy looking at Roger! He has the most amazing puppy dog eyes I've ever seen!
Yeah, there's something incredibly laid back about him ... until ... he lasers in (you can see it in his eyes) he's been listening to every word, and then he talks, And you have to listen because first, he's right, and second, he's Roger Taylor. Love the guy.
Best interview I've seen with Roger, more relaxed and chatty without fear of a BoRhap question.
I just love listening to Roger talk. He tells it like it is. A great man who has done and still does great things!! Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
One of the greatest interviews I've seen with Rog in years. For the love of God please do another longer one!! The stories this man has to tell are legendary !
Love roger brilliant sense of humour
He has a wicked sense of humour which I absolutely love
What an enjoyable interview. So many profound insights from two British men of class, intelligence, and skill. Heck, three British men.
Love the way Roger talks about David warms my heart
Roger is just himself always. Thats an impressive character show.
Lovely to see Roger so relaxed and chatty. Loved this whole thing. Three guys having a great chat
Roger is hilarious. Love him! Genius drummer and musician!
ROGER IS THE GREATEST. I LOVE HIS SOLO WORK. HE ACTUALLY HAS MY HEART.
I AM ALWAYS & FOREVER A LOYAL FAN.

I'VE FOLLOWED ROGER & QUEEN FOR 49 YEARS
ROGER IS AT THE TOP OF MY BUCKET LIST
♥
I really enjoyed seeing Roger relaxed!
Silly me but I love knowing his friends really do call him just "Rog"... he's got a great whit... like his apology to Jim:
" I must have had an attack of loveliness "
love that he still looks so good & younger than he is ... awww... these Queen men are in my heart forever.
The dynamic of these two guys who have been friends for such a long time telling the story of being a band in that Era is really cool. Their hilarious and fun to listen to! Thanks for the interview.
🍀ROGER IS GREAT! HE looks great and talks great, аnd the same rock and roll star guy!!!, thank you very much! Health, long happy years and creativity to ROGER🌹
The greatest musician and a wonderful man Roger Taylor, always awesome! ♥️🇧🇷🌹
I love this. Really, really enjoyable to watch these legends just chat like that. Always been a massive Queen fan too so great to see Roger Taylor just being a bloke. :-)
Caro Roger è difficile dimenticarti al lavandino col cappello sulle spalle e la minigonna! Splendida presenza in I want to break free!! I love you! ❤
Roger is so cool without even trying. His classy ways make him even more loveable!!!
I thought, I’ll listen for a minute, ended up listening and watching and thoroughly enjoying the whole interview. Thanks for the video.
Great video. I’ve been a Queen & Roger fan for ages . Still listening to his solo lp . A really nice way to see inside this , “behind the scenes” world . Thank you & God bless
If only all the interviews were like this. Chill, relaxed, without pressure, developing almost on itself. Great work and thank you!
I could sit all day and listen to these two share their memories and experiences. ❤️❤️
Roger would of been a riot to hang out with as a youngster
@@shelby6972 yeah I'll jump on board with that
He always seemed to be a layed back, easy going, mischievous (with Freddie) kind of guy
Great chat, as a budding 13 year old drummer I played Brighton Rock til the record grooves wore out, trying to figure out what Roger was playing. Very influential drummer.
I love the drumming on the Live Killers version.
Pete, try this ruclips.net/video/TFtlKWoHNT0/видео.html BR with the guitars & vocals stripped out, buggered if I can get anywhere near that bass line
Great interview, thanks.... and the song Queen performed when you met on TOTP was Now I'm Here.
They went on TOTP several times!
Also known as Arnold Layne.
This was one of the most fabulous talks in rock history I ever listened to. Thanks!
All this talk about Roger, which is fair enough, but Jim Cregan is a legend too. His contribution to a lot of other people's songs is often overlooked. He was in Family to begin with, a grossly underrated band, then, as mentioned, in Steve Harley's Cockney Rebel where he played that superb solo in "Make Me Smile." He also co-wrote a lot of the better Rod Stewart songs back when he was still doing real rock and roll. His solo in "I Was Only Joking" is superb. He also worked with Katie Melua, London Quireboys and a stack of other artistes. I'm a Roger fan, but let's not overlook Jim Cregan, he's a very talented and successful guitarist and producer.
I was just about to Google his name. 😅 Thanks for the info. 👍
Thank you gentlemen. I loved hearing all the great stories. So many of us would have loved to be a fly on the wall during all these great moments. Thanks for allowing us to do so.
That was actually fun!! Really show why I have a soft spot for Roger - tells it as it is, no BS. Thanks!
You're spot on , the lack of bs and posturing . Straight forward no shit chat . 👍
Best Roger interview ever!
Great sit down Alex. Didn’t even feel like an interview.
Totally enjoyed Jim and Roger reminiscing.
What a cracking interview. I have been a Queen fan since childhood, managed to see them live with Freddie 7 times and once with Adam Lambert, all great shows. I took a liking to Roger's music and vocals and bought "Fun in Space" when it was released in May 1981, still one of my fave albums of all time. Roger always comes across as just a regular, funny, top bloke. Roger's latest album is also a corker "Outsider". Such a talent, but a very modest man. I'd love to share a beer with him someday! This really was a pleasure to watch, thank you for posting this.

I have been a Queen fan for around 48 years seen the band with Freddie 6 times and would not see them with Adam as he is a trash American Idol nobody. Rogers best ever album is "Fun In Space" by miles followed by "Strange Frontier" after that it was down hill and his latest album is dire as far as i am concerned.
@@gedbill4058 ...Lambert is an imposter, end of.
@@icelight7054 Agree Lambert is the dregs of Queen's history now !
@@gedbill4058 Nice person you are Ged, sorry to disappoint but AL will go down in Queen's history as their second frontman after Fred, because of Adam, Queen (now QAL) are more popular than ever bringing their music to a younger generation, people like you Ged should be ashamed of yourself, Brian and Roger are still Queen and now because of QAL Freddie will never be forgotten, if you don't like go and dig out your old LP's and enjoy.
I love you Roger Taylor I feel happy to see you well I love you very much you are the love of my life ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Am I the only one that can't get over how beautiful that antique table is? lol
I wish that it was longer. I love listening to these masters talking. Can the next one be about the cars they have?
Or just the one Roger is in love with?
@@midnightrose2127 The machine of a dream...

Great interview. The topic around 20 mins in, if the band are genuine and are having fun that’s what the audience want to see, a great show doesn’t have to be the slickest show. Cheers
Superb. Not often you see an interview with Roger. Wish it had been longer.
Lovely to see you guys again and what a great interview which was very enjoyable and entertaining. Looking forward to the next video, thanks for sharing
I have had the privilege of watching Roger Taylor live and he reminded me of Nico McBrain in the same respect as in, they both look like they are doing fu@kall but absolutely smashing it. Only because what they do appears effortless. Hands up, I am a drummer but I live in that real world that these gents left a long time ago. It amazes me that drummers like RT, Nico & Nick Mason are so underrated as one could not exist without the other and they are almost all victims of that less is more prerogative. I’m clearly biased but I’m not wrong. Brilliant drummer!!
I love all three, and you can add Ian Mosley as well, but for me, no-one can surpass the genius of Neil Peart, RIP
„Truuuee,… Gooold!“
Laughed my ass off! Oh Rog 😂😂😂
Me encanta la banda Queen y Roger Taylor es muy buen baterista músico talentoso hasta la actualidad .Agradecería que las entrevistas también fueran traducidas al español para los fans latinos un saludo muy grande a todos 👋😘
Lovely interview from two musical legends!
A slice of the real Rog! Wondrous!
My favourite about Under Pressure I remember hearing was that apparently John Deacon came up with the bass line while they were jamming, then broke for lunch or whatever, and when they came to back to work some more on the song, he had forgotten what it was! Fortunately, it came back to him, as they say, but can you imagine coming up with THAT intro, and then not remembering like a couple hours later?
Reminds me of another bass line song of theirs, Another one bites the dust, that I think John wrote
@@mebeasensei Yeah, Another One Bites The Dust was written by John, but the bassline is based off the Chic song Good Times.
It was Roger who remembered it when they got back to the studio
Just brilliant, a lovely natural chat. Thank you chaps!
I like the way Jim refers to Rod Stewart as "my bandmate".
Nice to see a relaxed interview that's only minimally guided leaving those gentlemen to conduct the interview themselves . Nicely done 👍🇬🇧
Love to hear from you guys again!!
That was great. Not the usual boring shite about Freddie, Bo-Rhap and all the other crap he normally gets asked about
Roger looks so relax and so cool!
Roger is every bit as cute today as he ever was! You can still see that mischievous grin.
Great episode. Thank you.
I have a warm smile and happy repose having just watched this; nostalgia, narcotics, no nonsense and noise . 😁
Adore this convo recollection between mates. Just glorious. Please do more of this!
Great interview.. truly enjoyed listening to the stories!!
Thanks Guys.. One of the best interviews?? friendly banter I've seen. And seeing Rog for that long, heavenly'
Love Mr. Roger Taylor so much !
Just a nice bloke. So good in concert.
Thanks guys! another great one.
We Will Rock You based on prime numbers -- wow!
That band just drips w/talent and genius! How is it possible for Roger to get sexier and sexier as the years go by? I don't know, & I don't care! He's still my heart throb!! Hahahahah! "Yes, kids, Granny has a heart throb! He's been her heart throb for 48 years, and Grandpa is ok w/that, so mind your business!!"
"as for the gerbil..." what a hoot he is!
Fantastic interview, thanks!
So normal yet so famous! Loved seeing this.
Love Roger Taylor!! 😍👑💞
This isn’t an interview. It’s a conversation.
Amazingly, I didn't frown at all. In fact, I enjoyed that little chat-show. So thanks!
Roger is so charismatic.
I completly agree with roger about the drum sounds in radio gaga and I want to break free. Those are my two of my favourite Queen songs but I have always thought that I prefer Live versions of them than the studio ones because they feel a bit 'dead' with all those synth sounds. I wish they'd made a remaster using real Roger's drums and Brian's guitar sound.
Great interview. Thank you for this!
Very interesting and entertaining...so much brilliant music history from the people who lived it
Fun times! We all know that Roger is in love with his car!😄
I love how Rog is polar opposite if Brian
I saw Queen 2 years in a row, Vancouver, Canada. I think 76 and 77, I was 16 and 17 and getting into photography bigtime so it was an absolute necessity to be at the front of the stage for any concert I went to. I think I have some excellent photos from the 2nd concert - Freddie in leather - some great ones of Rog too. Excellent close-ups of all of them. They were pretty tight both concerts but Freddie still communed verbally with the audience. He saw me with the camera and big lens and I'm pretty sure he hammed it up for me a few times. He was right in front of me at the edge of the stage and introducing the song from ANATO about their previous manager who'd screwed them over and I shouted "Death on two legs!" and he yelled back "you got it!" or something like that and I was like cooled out by it. I was a huge Queen fan at that time so it stuck with me forever. We all thought Rog was the lady killer in the band. He had the rock drummer look. John and Brian kinda looked like musicians. Freddie had Elvis on the brain. All played well and gave it their all. Wow. Almost half a century ago. Those were the days of our lives. This is a great interview to run across. Thanks everyone!
thanks fellas. thank you so much for the people you are off the stage and on, as well as for telling some tales. stories are all we're left with, and probably best its that way. peace from tampa. btw met tiger a few weeks back on the road. we joked he had a "fair" teacher. also, just so you know, he hides his smoking from pictures dad. haha. - T
It's good to see him doing well.
Cool to see sitting around chatting
We all love old Rog!
Jim Cregan is a fantastic guitarist, saw him with Cockney Rebel wonderful memories 🎸🥁👍
Thanks for sharing a great video
Loved this so much!
This is a great video were some good friends talk about the past and what they love. I always like listening to Roger and was hoping to hear more about "Let Me Live" when the conversation was about Rod Steward. Maybe a second video? and some stories about "The Cross" ?
'Hot Space' on a decent Hi Fi is a fantastic sounding album...
Oh my god.... roger taylor just said salford!! And I am from Salford... proud moment
Great interview. Lots of laughs 🤣
Solid down to earth interview
Wonderful chat.....subbed👍🏼
I was there for the surrey gig in Esher, cool show, two John's of course, Jon. 🙂👍Sent you my write up and film.
Thanks for posting this!
Love rogers views and experiences on TOTP about having to lip sync.
Same beautiful smile and laugh.
