Man I use to jam out to this back in the 90s. Funny story, my dad hung out with them at a hotel resort in Brazil. He sent me a pic asking if I knew who they are, cause they said they do music in the US. It was a pic of the singer and drummer and my dad and all three were wasted lol. He drank with them all night and then the next morning they gave him a ride in their limousine to the airport and hung out even more with my dad drinking again lol.

go back and read the lyrics man, its really deep. basically its saying about how even white kids in the rich places fall down into slums and kill themselfs/start a baby army, or get addicted to drugs. the whole song is about him looking into his old chilling ground and seeing how bad it turned out with all his childhood friends.

This is a legendary band
The title of this song is a play on the title of a song by The Who titled "The Kids Are Alright", which was also the title of a biopic about them that dropped in 1979. The lead guitar riff smacks of Social Distortion, an homage that was obvious back in 1998 when this song dropped. I love this song. It sounds so lively and upbeat but it's a really sad song.

Their SMASH album, Ixnay of the Hombre and AMERICANA are some of the best Punk-albums ever created!... Specially if you ignore the "commercial hits" from those albums. They're legit but the best they've created is not the commercial hits.
