Dreamcast was a updated remake where as the PS3 one was based on the orignal arcade game with better resolution.
remake?
@@1gta4gta More of an updated remaster.
Better resolution and less clipping ;-)
Exatamente, são versão diferentes
It´s a remaster, not a remake.
The Dreamcast was ahead of its time!
such a shame sony caught up and sega gave up on the dreamcast
It definitely was but don’t get confused, the one of the right is a direct port to ps3 (and Xbox 360) of the 1994 arcade original the left is a remake of Daytona USA from 2001.
@@joaquingonzalez834Sony was smashing it on the PlayStation since 1994! Dreamcast was 1998. But not before throwing sega cd, 32x and saturn owners under a bus to release it.
Gráficos Lindos do Dreamcast!!!
More a difference in style than quality. Interestingly I enjoy the DC port more now than I did when it came out. I think I really wanted an arcade perfect port and the DC game was not it. The handling is actually very fun if you just go with it and get past the learning curve. It has a sort of out of control arcade feel that is fun. It is more enjoyable than Daytona CCE on the Saturn IMO.
Yea Dreamcast Daytona is the best version and has the most tracks and unlock-able cars,
Style & Quality. Graphics are better in DC version.
Is it still fun playing with a normal dreamcast controller?
The Dreamcast version, though based on the arcade version, sported updated graphics, sound and different handling.
The PS3/X360 were better than arcade perfect ports of the arcade original. The main difference is the resolution but other than that, it's supposed to look, sound and handle like the arcade version.
For me, I'd take the arcade perfect ports over the DC remake though it would be nice if the DC version (and Saturn Circuit Edition) were available to download as well.
Totally agree with you
Same, I'm loving the Xbox One version @ 4K.
I have both. And don't forget the true 16:9 widescreen with enhanced fov, for me this is the best aspect of the PSN/Live Arcade ports.
Claro arcade antigo X dreamcast
@@craftuar2439 I was referring to the arcade vs PS3/Xbox 360 resolution, not vs DC. The main point was the arcade game played better than the DC version which is the main reason why I prefer the PSN/XBL version.
We need more of segas arcades port them all dam it
8 years between. Dreamcast was such a BEAST!❤️
yeah thats why it died so quick
@@adampadum12345 Piracy and no dvd drive ended the Dreamcast.
@@CAPCOM784 piracy was rampant with ps1 ps2 and ps3 they still rocked.sega can suck a fat one and stay were they belong in the arcade
@External power indeed the dreamcast sucked balls. the playstation will rule for ever

i actually agree i only made dumb comments out of been super Bored
This is like comparing cake and ice cream, one of these was meant to be a remake, one of these was meant to be arcade perfect. Both meet their goals
I love the shiny car from DC version.
My eyes are telling me that the PS3 is an arcade port, meanwhile the Dreamcast version is specifically made for DC, so there are better animations, backgrounds are more detailed etc. Bot look great, and I can't pick one above the other.
I couldn't stand how the cars handled in the dreamcast version even with sensitivity turned down. The ps3/360 port is perfection period
Dreamcast best! Always!
I think I like the trees and the models in the Dreamcast more. But from what another commenter said the Dreamcast is an enhanced remake of the original and the PS3 is an HD version of the original so I guess it would make sense that while the PS3 is much more crisp and clear the models and stuff in the Dreamcast version are better. I think I'd take the Dreamcast Version running through a Kaico HD adapter and an mClassic displaying at 1440p over the PS3 version displaying at 1080p. But with that said I love both consoles and I'm definitly downloading the PS3 version since I lost my old Saturn copy and the Dreamcast version is getting pricey
I've put far too many hours into both these versions. While I love the way the PS3 game plays, I really miss the pit-crew-guy from the Dreamcast version.
PS3 NASCAR instead of this kids shit
Daytona on DC makes me want a Scud Race DC port that much more. We were so close, but alas, we'll have to stick to the Scud Race courses offered in OutRun 2 on Xbox.
@referral madness I heard that they actually tried to do a port of Scud Race but they couldn't quite get it to work on DC like they wanted, so they scrapped it and moved on to other projects. The demo sure looked good before the Japanese launch. Good enough, at least. Sega always said DC was more powerful than Model 3 but I'm not too sure of that, even though DC is basically a home version of the Naomi board.
I'd love it if they brought it to the switch (and Sega Rally too). Virtua Racing is great on it.
referral madness yeah, it does :)
Dreamcast wins a true Arcade console.
But the PS3/X360 literally is a port of the Arcade version (?
Concordo o Dreamcast é um verdadeiro Arcade console!
I love Daytona usa 2001 !
@Leechy. Exactly where as the Dreamcast version is a full on remake.
Wish they made Sega Super GT for the Switch. Ferrari F40 was rad lol
Graphic on PS3 it look like the SAME with Arcade.
❤👍👍👍
Vdd
Sense of speed in PS3 is veeeeery feel(Usyk)....however i grew up with DC and so i spent many hours with that version as teen...
Daytona USA was a legendary arcade machine, so much fun to play. I just can't fathom how anyone would want to play the Dreamcast version over the original game. It's so different, and significantly less fun to play.
A side note, I love the Dreamcast but this is one port that Sega dropped the ball on. I wish the Dreamcast had gotten this game unmodified Would have been fairly easy.
Sega's mishandling of the home ports of Daytona USA is legendary. Only they could try 3 times and mess it up each time. The job was so simple an idiot could have done it. Namco never tarnished their own games like that.
Same.
Which one do you think is the best port?
I don't agree. It looked great and was arcade plus (more content). You get used to the different controls very quickly. If they would've added Daytona USA 2 tracks this would have been the most replayable Daytona easily..
@@PresidentOfTheUSA Genki is a fine developer but Sega never should have handed off two of their most important franchises (VF and Daytona) to an outside developer when bringing them to the Dreamcast. The controls are pretty bad for being the third (technically fourth) port of Daytona on a Sega console, and the analog stick is almost a detriment. There's no excuse for it being such a flawed release when they had so many chances (and time) to do it properly.
The lack of any Daytona 2 content is extremely disappointing as well, considering they never gave us a home port of that game.
Excellent Comparison!
The PS3/360 version is backwards compatible on Xbox One. For those who don't have their last-gen machines hooked up.
I think the Dreamcast version held up pretty well!
Graphics yes, Gameplay (handling) unfortunately not.
DC is not the original version
Tchitchouan Inouane What was?!
@@martinevans1206 arcade sega model 2
Just a heads up for those that may still have Daytona for the DC. If you play with a steering wheel, the game controls a WHOLE lot better than the standard DC controller. . no comparison, actually
Only gripe I had with the Dreamcast version was the steering was very touchy
it wasnt too bad with a wheel tho
it's ajustable in the options
I would like to see a Dreamcast vs Arcade comparison of this and other arcade ports :)
Nice video! But the PS3 version was the arcade version while the DC version was an updated version....more like a Daytona 1.5.
Excelent game... great port, 😍
Love those Dreamcast sharpness and colors, Playstation still looks muddy in comparison. DC fans know what I'm talking about.
Never knew of the PSN port. Time to download it right away!
PS: Nice gameplay, and 1st place too!
This is nice one cmparison! I like DC version so much! Shiny body, even weels are shiny and non-poligonal! Green color of grass and trees is more realistic, as trees themselves! I dont have these consoles, just emulators and N64.
Dreamcast was a Amazing console,.. with a poor marketing
...And Sony's pre launch lies of what the PS2 could do, so third party support jumped the DC ship earlier than they should've.
And thankfully this new version is still available, at least on the Xbox it is, I dunno about the PS.
Simply Sherbert bought it last week after I learned it was backwards compatible with Xbox One. Good times!
@@jamesfmackenzie Good times indeed!
Muy buen relató no sabía ese dato
Dreamcast is an extraordinary port of Daytona usa with great controls and gameplay
if you use the steering wheel.
The game designed with steering wheel in mind such as the original arcade is unique only in arcade cabin.
It's amazing how this game's soundtrack has been remixed/redone 4 times so far
@Sandman Slim Betty Bona!!
Dreamcast - 1998; PlayStation 2 - 2000; GameCube - 2001;
I choose the Ps3 port. Dreamcast Daytona had some neat extra features, but the arcade original just handles so beautifully, and distinctly, which is what I missed.
I only play the sega saturn version. I like the old graphics
I'm still playing it on ps3
My gamertag : gmkart06
Dreamcast Wins! in many ways... color, textures, background, presentation, etc.
DC looks nicer but PS is closer to the original and the MUSIC is a MASSIVE part of why Daytona USA was/is so loved by people so PS takes it
I'd say the music in OutRun and was a lot better and memorable and had a great deal to do with its success also.
Eu me surpreendi.
I HATED the car's handling on the Dreamcast version
It's sad how bad people treat the remastered/remaked Daytona 2001 for Dreamcast. When it launched I bought it right when available, imagine after being deceived with the Saturn port booting this game and seeing not just an perfect port but an better port! 640x480 (arcade is 496x384), 60 frames, almost no pop up and the remastered sound effects, damn! Finally the very Daytona experience in my house! PS3/Xbox 360 are the definitive port but they came too late and the sound from the arcade are not near the buzz of the Dreamcast. But as a Daytona fan I have both versions and the consoles in perfect shape. Other sad thing, why Daytona 2 was never ported to any system, why...
João Luiz Daytona 2001 was finally having a model 3 quality racer at home... that said, I wanted Scud Race, I wanted a non botched Sega Rally 2, I wanted a Daytona 2... this was still great, but we never got those, not even on GC or Xbox :(
@@youtubeadmin1588 Very true my friend. Sega Rally 2 was an offender for the Dreamcast because fucking Microsoft forced Sega to "emulate" the PC port using Windows CE (I'm not kidding, this is the story I read in the Super Model 3 Sega Rally 2 topic comments). This was Microsoft wanting to show "the power of Windows CE" on console, fucking assholes... And Scud Race is the same case as Daytona 2 for me, why Sega never ported it for Dreamcast? There is even an alpha demo of it running on Dreamcast that already show a very good work even being unfinished. Some say that this helped in making a more bad image for Sega for not fulfilling the promised Scud Race port.
I Prefer the colorful dreamcast/Arcade version. Segas Arcade Game looking all great. See Sega Rally 2 Arcade. They have this shiny sommer feeling
The dreamcast version is a remake version with new graphics and sound.
The PS3/Xbox 360 version is just an arcade port with Saturn's soundtrack but have better resolution for widescreen TV.
For those, I'd prefer take the PS3 version.
Why when you finish the game finishing a level?
Both look great!!!
The game start and then.
Rolling STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAART
my head start to spin
Dreamcast as always. Lol now want to go and play it. But have to go to work :(
PS3 is a direct Arcade port, right?
They are very smooth
The ps3/360 version is a copy of the original arcade/sega Saturn version. The dreamcast version made them look like they had wide body kits and wide slicks all the way around.
Sad that the Dreamcasts version looks just as good as the ps3.
Dreamcast was a TANK
these are basically completely diffrent games yaknow
im sorry, were there any 360 spinners in the original? thats weird...
Gameplay: Arcade Xbox360/Ps3
Sound and Music : Arcade Xbox360/Ps3
Graphics : Dreamcast
Content : Dreamcast
A versão do dreamcast é a circuit edition do saturn melhorada.
A do ps3 um port idêntico do primeiro daytona usa do arcade.
both look good...
Wish I could play this on the PS4
I love SEGA ! 😍
That Dreamcast port is weird, and kinda surprised they didn’t port the sequel. I had that game at the time, and I didn’t like it that much. I played Sega Rally 2, and the F1 games a lot more.
It is not a really a port, it is more its own thing with the tracks from Daytona and a lot more.
Daytona 2 was Model 3.
Stephen Gibson so was VF3 and Sega Rally 2. Could have ported a toned down version ;)
Chris McEvoy that’s what a poet is. You could argue the mega drive version of Mortal Kombat is its own thing just has the same stages and fighters from the arcade.
@@sloppynyuszi but the dreamcast version of daytona does not have the same stages/tracks and fighters/cars. It has its own set and does not use the same base code as the original at all.
The PS3 and 360 port clearly uses the same base code, played enough to be able to show you the driving style and pattern of cpu cars to prove its the same code controlling them.
A do ps3 é basicamente a versão do arcade.
Dreamcast was in a class all it's own still is to this day. VGA box awesome. I refuse to buy another PlayStation, since the PS2. Ever since Sony was hacked.
Maybe for the animations still looks good on ps3 but for the graphic for me sega dreamcast the best
Mil vezes a versão Dreamcast.
It took me 10 seconds to choose the Dreamcast one.
Funny, because anyone who has played the arcade game would instantly say the opposite.
I believe you. It was clearly it was an uninformed decision, the PS3 is an arcade-perfect port, the Dreamcast one is awful.
I like the arcade version better. I prefer the textures and colour of the arcade. Dreamcast could've done a perfect copy of the arcade. I don't know why they made it different....
Owned both. The DC had better graphics for sure, the PS3 version had perfect controls for me and I didn't have to pay 50$ bucks for it!!
No moving sky on DC car window????
Gostei mais do Dreamcast !!
Wait vcdecide is back?!
Dreamcast wins hands down.
PS3 & XBOX 360 versions are direct ports of 1994 arcade, while the only graphics upgrade is HD-Resolution.
But resolution isn't everything. Colors, textures, cars, replay, ect - everything is better on Dreamcast exclusive remake.
Having said that, please SEGA, port Daytona USA 2 (original version) for home consoles. Arcade perfect port is good enough. No one is able to play that game anymore as Arcade scene has disappeared. But the Dreamcast version of that would still be success for sure! May be 25th Anniversary release for DC, like Sonic Adventure games had...
Sonic is flipped on the mountain faces...
ps3 is look like top result of 32X
