    With the release of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Josh from Panels to Pixels takes a look at the Spider-Man animated series episodes which first introduced the idea of a multiverse of Spider-People.
    1994's Spider-Man cartoon introduced a whole generation to the character and was instrumental in taking Spidey from the pages of Marvel comic books to the big screen. This video explores how one storyline would serve as the inspiration behind 2010's Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions video game, 2014's Spider-Verse comics event, and now the Web-Head's first ever animated feature film with 2018's Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
    So once again, dust off your video tapes, grab a bowl of breakfast cereal and get stuck in to another look at the 90s Marvel cartoons that got us to where we are today. Excelsior!

Funnily enough regoing through the episode, I refound background information that part of past events setting up the conflict, that King Pin developed an interdimensional transporter in this story. So yeah, Spider Wars did it first, it predates all other Spiderverse content and ironically, it's also the shows adaptation of the Ben Reilly Clone Saga (which was considered a dark point in Spider-Man comics history). They litterally took Clone Saga plugged it into one end of their creative machine (creative process) and came out with the original Spider-Verse on the other.

    After seeing Into the Spider-Verse, I rewatched the entire animated series. I never realized how impactful the 1994 series had not only this movie, but my imagination as well as an illustrator and story teller to this very day. I never gave it enough credit, but something ignited that inner child's imagination in me again, a corner of my mind that had been tucked away for so long. Movies like this do that where is moves me to revisit an aspect of my creative journey as to tap into that, and utilize that with the knowledge, wisdom and understanding I have today.
    So thank you for making this video, I really do appreciate it.

    I actually wanted marvel to do a live action version of the Spiderwars episodes from the animated series but with a big twist. The Spider-Man are all played by the actors who've played Spider-Man, Toby McGuire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland. They would be different versions of Peter Parker in different universes where their movies took place, and as an added bonus, Emma Stone would be the fourth member of the team as Spider Gwen, paving the way for her own movie if Marvel wanted to do it. The story would be the same, Madam Web (who if I had my choice would be played by Diana Rigg from Game of Thrones) assembles this team to stop Spider Carnage from destroying the multiverse, but at the same time, tie all the different movie series together as a single story.

      @ALWAYStheEIGHTIES 5 лет назад +11

      Spider Carnage would be played by Nicholas Hammond. Plot twist to the cartoon storyline ...this version of Carnage is UNCLE BEN! In his universe, Peter was never bitten because the spider only crawled into his backpack but later bites Uncle Ben. Uncle Ben immediately starts off as the superhero Spider-Man instead of trying to make money the way Peter would have but one night while he is out on one of his early adventures, Aunt May and Peter were killed by the robber that was looking for the hidden money and was meant to have killed Ben in the universe we know. From then on, Ben's Spider-Man becomes a more violent version of himself and later catches the burglar after almost killing him. Years later when the burglar is released from prison and comes back to the Parker house looking for the hidden money, he is caught by Mary Jane Watson who is living there with Ben and has become like an adopted niece to him and takes care of him while also knowing his secret. The burglar kills her which sends Ben down a dark path and Ben almost kills the Burglar a second time but is stopped by the police. Ben becomes a wanted vigilante that kills criminals and eventually becomes a worse version of himself as Venom ...and then Carnage.

      Yeah, this is pretty much 100% what I thought up a while back myself (kinda spooky really, get out of my brain!), long before I caught wind of Into the Spiderverse. I also think Benedict Cumberbatch's Dr. Strange would make a good support character, and be a good link to introduce Madam Web and the multiverse shinanigans. Only thing I couldn't figure out was who or what they'd be fighting against, what the reason was to bring the Spiderverse together instead of, say, calling the Avengers.
      Also, perfect end credits scene would be Aunt May (Marissa Tomei - be fun to have Maguire and Garfield freak out over how young she is, haha), Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) and Spider-Gwen having a wine party, laughing and joking together whilst all the Spidermen are patiently standing around and waiting to get sent back to their own universes.

      this is almost what happened. Tobey Maguire was originally going to be the voice of Peter B Parker (aka Old Peter) and reprise his role but it was too confusing. The ratings were still good, it was not continued (after the contractual 65 epsiodes) because a Fox Kids executive thought Marvel shows too much dominated the Fox Kids identity. Also producer/story editor John Semper was often clashing with executive producer Avi Arad. I love the show but it's probably better that it remain as it is, with its open-ended ending, than try to continue 20 years later.

    No matter what I always see "Spider-Wars" storyline from season 5 for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. That storyline really parallels for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. The Kingpin voiced by Roscoe Lee Browne was a villain working for Spider-Carnage who wanted to collapse the universes using the Time Dilation device. All the different Spider-Men coming together with the guidance of Madam Web voiced by Joan Lee was amazing. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse May Parker was very much like Madam Web being the guiding force for all the Spider-Verse characters. The Hall of Spider-Suits brings back to Hall of Iron Man Armors from Iron Man. Also having a Peter Parker who has Tony Stark like personality who owns an international company was ingenious. Also seeing Gwen Stacy in the "Spider-Wars" as the girlfriend fiance to the Tony Stark/Peter Parker was nice and Mary Kay Bergman was memorable.

      No, it was a reference to Nicholas Hammond's version of Spider-Man. The Peter Parker of this cartoon was modeled after Nicholas Hammond's looks. The voice actor was most likely chosen because it resembled Hammond's voice. At that point Hammond was the only live version of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. (The Electric Company's Spider-Man never showed him as Parker without the mask.)

    With Lego having a number of diffrent looking Lego Spider - Men over the past number of the years, thought they would have done a Marvel Build Your Own Adventure putting the Spider Multiverse to the Secret Wars into a book with the other heroes and villains together with other adventures. Would not mind if they add to the Lego Sets for Spider - Man something going with the Spider - Verse into some of the set's in someway besides having 2 or so of the Spider heroes together, something giving the multiverse type of travel look maybe?
    What can I say I'm a Lego fan, plus collect the actions figures to so seeing something in playset form for the Spiderman action figures would be cool to see as well. I've not seen the movie yet, but as for what was mentioned in the video, I've seen 90's Spider - Verse as well as the Disney XD Spiderman cartoon where he runs into the characters from 2 or 3 years back?
