Vicente isaac Lopez valdez I think the question is what do Alice’s fire incident and wonderland have in common ? Both falling apart to cover up something bad And for some reason killing the madness to keep the truth from coming out to Alice who knows what happened
To be fair, Alice was sent to the Queen specifically because she wasn’t listening. Off the top of my head, Cheshire, Caterpillar, and Carpenter all told her that she was misled to destroy Wonderland and herself via the Train.
I kind of have an idea that the queen represents Alice’s logic and reason. Shes trying to control Wonderland, control Alice’s madness through reason, trying to take it by force. She is also fleshy, kind of similar to a human brain, or that might be reaching a bit. It also helps that she’s portrayed as a younger Alice (not her sister as most think) representing a young, sane Alice. As shown here, she reveals thoughts Alice never thinks of and helps clear her mind to the true issues plaguing Alice and Wonderland. She even says that if Wonderland disappears, she will still be there. Even if Alice’s memories and madness are destroyed, her logic, reasoning and problem solving will still be there.
The queen has always represented what drove Alice insane. Guilt, Anguish, and Anger. In this sequel it takes the more specific form of her victim: her older sister who was raped and murdered by the soon-to-be therapist who is also a pedophile after Alice provided him with the key to her room, while still an innocent and oblivious child. The thought of the Red Queen disgusts Alice and drives her mad because the thought of her sister and what Alice did to her is unbearable and grotesque.
@@JonesCrimson well the logic theory can still happen. Can you feel guilty if you don't have logic and knowledge to understand that what you did is wrong.
The problem is, accepting the Red Queen before Alice is ready to deal with her guilt would likely result in her suicide. But in the first game you thought the fire was your fault. Here her sanity realizes she's not the guilty one, and that she's being manipulated, so she's an unwilling and unwanted ally. In the first game since Alice couldn't face reality due to her guilt, The Queen, being sanity and reason was her ultimate enemy. Here Reality means throwing off the manipulation and mental prison the Doctor is trying to trap her in. It's a goal the insane and sane parts of her mind share, so they're reluctantly willing to work together.
RequiemPoete even what the queen says in this part is mostly reasonable, understandable things over the insane ramblings of the Hatter or the confusing wordplay of the Caterpillar. Alice had an older sister. And after playing through both the games, I'm pretty sure the Red Queen is merely instinct and survival. The juxtapositions the Queen embodies are very complex and wonderful. In the first game, she represented Alice's antagonistic half in the form of a usurper. The wonder of this is, that where Alice is the architect of Wonderland (the mind), she lost control of it to the Queen whose insignia represents not a fictional land, but life -- that is, real life in the crudest sense: so long as the heart beats, there is no need for the conscious mind, and it is precisely why the Queen wants to seize control after Alice loses control of herself and Wonderland. The Queen knows that she cannot kill Alice, and neither can Alice destroy the Queen without destroying herself, so she of course plans to apprehend her, therefore granting herself full authority over Wonderland. For all intents and purposes, the Queen represents the futile existence of a braindead victim. But the heart is also the throne of Empathy. Alice's own psychological trauma "mitigates the failure to act earlier" in response to the evil preparations Bumby puts his minor patients through. It is precisely the Queen of Hearts that implores Alice that what her mind's view conceals is a tragedy, and that she is not looking at what is happening around her; for her eyes to open, her sense of Justice, born of Empathy whose seat is the heart, must be reawakened in order for her existence to mean something, or "we are all doomed."
I love that it's the Queen of Hearts here who is actually calling Alice out, her former worst enemy, you know you've fucked up when it's your worst enemy who is the one calling you out
I think you forgot to realize that the Queen represented Alice's state of mind which in the first game it was her insanity and the second game it's her childhood (since she views the world as a child which is evident in the Vale of Tears and such) hence the Queen is Young Alice.
You played the first game?!? I was scared shitless when I walked into the garden, I was half expecting a dragon to jump out of no where and kill me in one chomp.
No like her whole accent has changed in AMA she had a very deep posh voice and in AMR she sounds more high pitched and there's a certain twang to her voice I dunno it's just hard to believe it's the same Queen I guess that's what Alice meant by she was expecting someone else
I loved how they took Alice and turned it super demented. I want another game in the similar. This style and the gameplay revolving around the other Disney villains. Sleeping beauty would be a good one
did anyone else have a bit of a crush on the red queen? she is so intelligent, adorable, but spooky as well. How old is she? She sounds and looks like she is in her early 20's
The Queen takes important forms. In the first game she was everyone Alice had fought up to that point, all wrapped in a monster. In this game she's someone forgotten.
The Queen IS Alice! In this game, she is not actually Lizzie even though she is called that, she is "Young Alice". In the original game, do you remember, she states "If you destroy me, you destroy yourself!" Also, after battling the Queen in the original, the Queen actually shifts into the appearance of Alice :)
This level was disturbing...the squishing of her footsteps...how the scenery turns to...gore...and then seeing the Queen and when she does that ... mouth thing...
Alice was expecting it to be someone else?...Like who?! Look around at your surroundings Alice, who else do you know in Wonderland who would live in that type of environment except the Red Queen?
In the first game the queen looked way different. The queen in Alice (2000) was about the same age as alice and here entire body was morbid flesh with her face in the mouth of another face who was in the mouth of another face.
cebruthius actually American confirmed its a younger Alice, I thought it was Lizzie too because in Infernal Train Alice calls her Lizzie. It would make more sense for her to be Alice because in AMA The Queen’s mouth opens to reveal the Hatter (the queen represents her whole mind aka the heart, the Hatter represents her fear of death) in the Hatter’s mouth reveals Alice therefore the queen is Alice :)
I don't see why people say Queenie is meant to be Lizzie. For one thing, Lizzie was 11 years older then Alice, so Alice wouldn't really have any real memories of Lizzie as a little girl (having not been born for most of Lizzie's childhood and being extremely young for the rest of it). All of Alice's memories would be of Lizzie as a teenager/young woman.
@MsxPrincessxBella But she also says "You once rejected my attempts to control OUR lives" It is a younger Alice. And if it was Lizzie I'm sure Alice would have said "I was expecting someone else!" to her beloved dead sister, especially in the tone she used.
(cont.) ..part of one's psyche whose purpose is to please the id's drives, which would explain why Alice takes advice from him. Also, the id is said to be an unconscious part of one's psyche; impossible to understand; which is a possible explanation as to why the Cat speaks in riddles. Moreover, if the Cat is really a reflection of Alice's id, he is the embodiment of all her raw instincts, which means he knows everything about Alice, and therefore all about Wonderland, explaining his omniscienc
@zonilo1 Also it makes sense that she's the one who points the suspect to Bumby as if Alice actually knew it was him all along (and Alice probably knew what Bumby was doing to those kids) but Alice was in denial and the Queen is basically Alice's consciousness.

I love the Queen's voice.. but I think it would of been creepier if her voice had the pitch and tone of a little girl. It would match her face a little more in my opinion. Nevertheless, the game and everything in it is so twisted, I love it.
okay, face of a 10 year old, hands of a 100 year old, a voice that would make Rebecca Black cry, and a mouth that could actually swallow me if it was played in 3D... I love this game.
@zonilo1 I'm pretty sure it's Lizzie. A) Because there's different hair. Alice, when younger, she had longer hair than that, as shown in her flashbacks. B) She clearly calls her "My Lizzie" when they meet in the train... well, that or my hearing is fucked up, which is definitely an option. Although, the Queen does refer to "Lizzie" in the train when she says "And that noise wasn't Lizzie talking in her sleep" ... oh, the confusion.
For those who say that the sequel was unnecessary, I know of two things that may make it more necessary for the saga : -The Queen and the Hatter always say that Alice is runing away from the truth. But what truth is she running from ? I mean, she already feels guilty like they want her too, so it can't be that truth; -Most people have got problems with the fact Alice reverted back to her insane state before the first game, right ? Well, I can actually give you reason on that one, but that's why I've got a fan-fic in which Alice was taken in by Bumbi in return of her help in dealing with her patients, because thanks to her trauma and the damage it caused, she has got a better insight on how to deal with the children. This way, she could keep being the healed and once again happy girl that got out of Rutledge Asylum. However, after being around the doctor for some time, her repressed memories start to resurface vaguely in her dreams, and Bumbi, taking advantage of that mental state that weakens her mind, goes to her room every night and hypnotises her, as he wishes to make a prostitute out of her. This way, she can still have these mental issues she acquired on the second game, but still retain the positive personality she acquired after the first game.
what does the queen mean when she was saying "YOU don't know YOUR own mind" "what YOU claim not to know..." if that was young alice first her looks would be different and she wouldn't be talking to herself. alice is one person why would her younger self be a separate person? how would young alice know what happen to lizzie the night of the fire? lizzie knew what happen to herself because she was there! if young alice knew what happen why did she do anything?

But the heart is also the throne of Empathy. Alice's own psychological trauma "mitigates the failure to act earlier" in response to the evil preparations Bumby puts his minor patients through. It is precisely the Queen of Hearts that implores Alice that what her mind's view conceals is a tragedy, and that she is not looking at what is happening around her; for her eyes to open, her sense of Justice, born of Empathy whose seat is the heart, must be reawakened in order for her existence to mean something, or "we are all doomed."
I love that it's the Queen of Hearts here who is actually calling Alice out, her former worst enemy, you know you've fucked up when it's your worst enemy who is the one calling you out
I think you forgot to realize that the Queen represented Alice's state of mind which in the first game it was her insanity and the second game it's her childhood (since she views the world as a child which is evident in the Vale of Tears and such) hence the Queen is Young Alice.
the fact her mouth moves unnaturally-
I hated her with a passion in the first game, but she's my favorite character in this game : |
You played the first game?!? I was scared shitless when I walked into the garden, I was half expecting a dragon to jump out of no where and kill me in one chomp.
i love the Red Queen's voice actress. kind of wish i could speak like her 💀
That must be quite a huge heart in there. I mean, the beats are practically thundering through the cavern.
"I won't miss you're tentacles" this is by far my favorite line in the game
Anni Long voiced the Red Queen in both Alice games so why does she sound so different with each queen???
Well, the first game is 10 years older than Madness Returns. In 10 years, the voice actress's voice probably changed a bit.
No like her whole accent has changed in AMA she had a very deep posh voice and in AMR she sounds more high pitched and there's a certain twang to her voice I dunno it's just hard to believe it's the same Queen I guess that's what Alice meant by she was expecting someone else
Because it's not "same" Queen. Queen was always nothing more than representation of Alice's mind. The mind changes - so does it's reflection.
RKroft96 Because this version of the Queen is a reflection of Alice’s sister, same with the voice
No :) American McGee has confirmed that the Queen is younger Alice, like in the firts game! ( her super-ego) not a manifestation of Lizzie!
Authority must be obeyed, or it must be overthrown!
This is my favorite cutscene in the game! I love her voice and design!
*I love this game so much the aesthetic, earnests, the tone of the game, storyline it's so good.*
1:54 "I've watched enough hentai to know were this is going"
siren marell what?
Tentacle Hentai, Obviously.
There it is.
well.... 0:49
siren marell vore. Vore was where it went.
I loved how they took Alice and turned it super demented. I want another game in the similar. This style and the gameplay revolving around the other Disney villains. Sleeping beauty would be a good one
I nearly shit myself when the queen swallowed Alice!
I can never unsee that part XD
This video is 9 years ago and it came to my recommendation...
They're talking about the design of the Queen in the original game. They "screwed it up" as it isn't anything like what she originally looked like.
I really like her posh accent
Ive played this game so many times, ive memorized pretty much every line from it XD
Alice: Otherlands will be next
Rev Engin hopefully, I can't get enough of anything regarding Alice
+aja drew Alice: Through The Looking Glass Movie is also coming out on May 2016
Rev Engin 😍😍😍 oh wow!
I appreciate your profile picture 💞
did anyone else have a bit of a crush on the red queen? she is so intelligent, adorable, but spooky as well. How old is she? She sounds and looks like she is in her early 20's
her arms says a complete other thing
She's theoretically 19, as old as Alice is.
Her face (mask) is the child version of Alice. 10 or under.
@Cait
Ha ha, it's actually Lizzie.
Alice sister.
The Queen takes important forms. In the first game she was everyone Alice had fought up to that point, all wrapped in a monster. In this game she's someone forgotten.
The World was full of Madness my friend... Were living in Hell of Reality
The queens outfit just looks so good no more words
Just discovered this series but the sentence "there is no method in this madness" goes hard
The Queen IS Alice! In this game, she is not actually Lizzie even though she is called that, she is "Young Alice". In the original game, do you remember, she states "If you destroy me, you destroy yourself!"
Also, after battling the Queen in the original, the Queen actually shifts into the appearance of Alice :)
Gaslighted victims relate to this game.
This level was disturbing...the squishing of her footsteps...how the scenery turns to...gore...and then seeing the Queen and when she does that ... mouth thing...
Alice First time smiling in 0:28
Alice was expecting it to be someone else?...Like who?! Look around at your surroundings Alice, who else do you know in Wonderland who would live in that type of environment except the Red Queen?
I got the feeling she was just being sarcastic/ironic when she said that.
In the first game the queen looked way different. The queen in Alice (2000) was about the same age as alice and here entire body was morbid flesh with her face in the mouth of another face who was in the mouth of another face.
dude are you like 13 ? geez
that 'queen' is in the form of her sister who died in the fire
the queen is in the form of a younger Alice
I love the Queen's voice to be honest.
Same
Sasha to NightMarcy: You've once rejected my attempts to control our lives, forcefully ! But now, you've allowed another to succeed in my role !
the queen looks young
cebruthius
She has lizzie's face, at least the one alice remembers.
I'm thinking she is a selfish kid!!!
cebruthius actually American confirmed its a younger Alice, I thought it was Lizzie too because in Infernal Train Alice calls her Lizzie. It would make more sense for her to be Alice because in AMA The Queen’s mouth opens to reveal the Hatter (the queen represents her whole mind aka the heart, the Hatter represents her fear of death) in the Hatter’s mouth reveals Alice therefore the queen is Alice :)
They picked a good voice for the queen
I don't see why people say Queenie is meant to be Lizzie. For one thing, Lizzie was 11 years older then Alice, so Alice wouldn't really have any real memories of Lizzie as a little girl (having not been born for most of Lizzie's childhood and being extremely young for the rest of it). All of Alice's memories would be of Lizzie as a teenager/young woman.
Someone stated that in the artbook it was an avatar of Lizzie-but apparently it states that her younger face is an avatar of younger Alice.
Body of her sister Lizzie face of her younger self.
The red queens castle is one of the best levels in this game.
@MsxPrincessxBella
But she also says "You once rejected my attempts to control OUR lives"
It is a younger Alice.
And if it was Lizzie I'm sure Alice would have said "I was expecting someone else!" to her beloved dead sister, especially in the tone she used.
I love that you finally get to see the queens... Well human body. You only saw her face in the first game.
Queen of Heart is Alice's Heart her inner emotion her guts to know the real truth about the tragedy of her family....💔
Alice: oh shit, here we go again.
I love the look of the queen, I live the insane cruel queen personality and look
You have to reach a certain age to truly see the details and metaphors of this wonderful game.
@zonilo1
Also it makes sense that she's the one who points the suspect to Bumby as if Alice actually knew it was him all along (and Alice probably knew what Bumby was doing to those kids) but Alice was in denial and the Queen is basically Alice's consciousness.
Red queen: I am a shadow the truth self
1:59-2:10 I dont Know why But i Love that Head turn Red queen Does after Telling alice The truth That you Claim to See eludes You because You won't look At what's Around you
"I don't think so!" I love how she says that XD
still love how the queen's crown floats :D
I would like to point out how creepy it is that her castle is made of actual organs and intestines.
what a sadly underused yet masterfully featured character
The writing in this game is so overlooked. Its truly masterful
I like how Alice isn't scared of anything she sees in wonderland in the whole game lol
Miyuki - That's because it's her own mind. Almost the same as not COMPLETELY going insane or getting absolutely terrified by what happens in our dreams.
Alice looks hot and the red queen has a cute face
(cont.)...Additionally, at the end of the second game, he calls Wonderland "our Wonderland," implying he may hold some control or ownership.
(This is taken from the wiki)
This game wasn't meant to be scary it was meant to be darkly bueatiful.
The fact that this is Alice in wonderland in a scary theme makes me feel shakend up, they could have had a horror film of this
I love the Queen's voice.. but I think it would of been creepier if her voice had the pitch and tone of a little girl. It would match her face a little more in my opinion. Nevertheless, the game and everything in it is so twisted, I love it.
Giant Alice: 😈 *rips tentacle off* queen: “AKK...ARRRG!”😩
Ugh, those nasty squishing noises.
I know right that happens all the way through the last boss in the first game and i'm like ewwwwwwwwwwwwww
It's just so stomach churning!
what is probably where they got the sound effects
The whole level, mate
The queen looks a lot like Fran Bow :D
it's all the way around n.n
Nowhere in the artbook says the Queen is Lizzie, reread the artbook carefully again.
For some reason, I love the Queen of Hearts voice in this cut scene xD I have no idea why..
okay, face of a 10 year old, hands of a 100 year old, a voice that would make Rebecca Black cry, and a mouth that could actually swallow me if it was played in 3D...
I love this game.
Queen current face look like Alice or younger version
no but when she talks to the red queen on the train, she calls her "my dearest lizzie." so it is lizzie.
@zonilo1 I'm pretty sure it's Lizzie.
Does anyone know the name of the track that plays at 2:14?
I still believe this game’s voice acting could have been better.
So creepy but so cool amiright
For those who say that the sequel was unnecessary, I know of two things that may make it more necessary for the saga :
-The Queen and the Hatter always say that Alice is runing away from the truth. But what truth is she running from ? I mean, she already feels guilty like they want her too, so it can't be that truth;
-Most people have got problems with the fact Alice reverted back to her insane state before the first game, right ?
The Red Queen has the Fallout Master thing going...
UCSPanther20 I never noticed that! Nice observation!
The queen of hearts looks very cute......AND SCARY!!
That red Queen reminds me like a newborn baby
what does the queen mean when she was saying "YOU don't know YOUR own mind"
"what YOU claim not to know..." if that was young alice first her looks would be different and she wouldn't be talking to herself. alice is one person why would her younger self be a separate person? how would young alice know what happen to lizzie the night of the fire? lizzie knew what happen to herself because she was there! if young alice knew what happen why did she do anything?
