I think it's cool that he made their day regardless of how much he gave them or how full his cup was. It was the fact that he did something nice for them that matters. Try being a little nicer for once and see the good in ppl. If I was there I would have done the same.
I laughed all the way through. Imagine someone pulling up to see you in a royal blue blazer baking a damn cake in the back of a truck with every conceivable kitchen appliance going. Between the batteries and candle I’m just glad you didn’t burn it down. You are hilarious and adorable MAV 😅
my biggest takeway from this video was that Mav moves his truck from the gas pump after getting gas before going into the store. a man of culture. THANK YOU.

To be fair, kwik trip could nearly be categorized as a small grocery store. Still a great concept/vid, but would be a lot less gourmet if it was holiday/speedway/BP only (common MN gas stations)

Fun Fact: To pick a good avocado, MAKE SURE it still has the little STEM NUB on it. DO NOT buy avocados that do not have that still attached. Once that nub is off, it allows air to get in them and makes the mold start to grow!
Yes. Avacado skin is completely air tight. There is no oxygen in there as we speak. It grew from a seed with an oxygen force field around itself and needed none for growing. And Avacados don't actually PRODUCE OXYGEN during the growing process like every other plant on the face of the earth. Then, when the stem was BROKEN at picking time it hermetically sealed itself up instantaneously before any air could seep in.

What did you do to your fingers?!?! I have smashed my fingers so many times and had the mail turn black. My most memorable was my aunt just got an AMC Pacer in the 70s and I was in the back and had my hand up holding on and she shut the hatch. As a kid, I thought I was loosing my fingers! 😆

Handing kids at a lemonade stand a wad of cash for an iced tea - AWESOME!
Neighborhood ice tea, is always the best. A few kiddos, were selling painted rocks in my neighborhood a few days ago. I bought their whole lot, with a tip (it was after work and late, so I wanted to end their day on a high note). The kiddos eyes lit up with excitement. It was only 6 rocks, but they were cool. They’re now placed in my flower pots out back. I actually enjoy them. Also, I’ve been using the potato chip breading, for years now. It’s very easy to have multiple flavors, which is nice. I’ve never tried it on pork or fish… but, it’s a great breading for chicken strips/nuggets. Only thing I do different, is add a bit of potato starch at the very end of my dredge. Makes everything a bit crispier, without having to burn the chips exterior. I also like to finish them off in an oven (if needed). I put them on a wire rack before doing so, and it seems to release a bit of the grease, while still remaining crispy. Either way, looks great, MAV. Sending positive vibes from Boise, Idaho!

Wow! Gas stations have changed a lot since I was driving and they were pretty much limited to gum, chips and tobacco. Fresh produce? Pork chops? Doesn’t seem like much of a challenge.
It's a northern Minnesota thing. Sometimes that's the only food for miles. Not a lot of restaurants here, either.

Kwik Trip is like cheating when it comes to decent gas station food. Any other gas station in the area would have left you with a frozen burrito or a roller dog as your options lol.
He is right about them being overpriced though😂 had to live off of them for a few months when I had no way to cook or anything

This evenings special features a creamy olive fig jerk appetizer, main course consists of a cilantro-cado ranch pork filet on a bed of corn and tomatoes and tonight's desert is a freshly baked banana hershey truck cake. 🤣
I had to quit when I was doing, to watch you 'guess bake' a chiffon cake. And, it turned out 'Pretty Good!', to quote, you, Mav! I was also surprised about how well that pork chop turned out! I thought you were crazy while making the appetizers! Throughout your process, I kept tilting my head back and forth, like a dog does when he is trying to figure out what we are doing!

Bananas Imposter with Chiffon Cake sounds awesome. The Pork Chop looked awesome too. I watch Gordon Ramsay a lot. I binge watch him and Iron Chef and Guy Fiery's DDD shows. I like to create in the kitchen with just things I have around. Some of my best meals ever. Great content as always Mav!
Trick for getting cakes out: equal parts flour, shortening, and oil. Mix it up really well, then smear it all over the pan before you put the batter in.
