    Sammy really played this hand horribly. on the flop and turn he made plays that gave away tons of info while gaining none at all. Durrr knows that Sammy would almost never play a boat or flush with the line he took, so he decides to put him to a major decision hoping he can't call with anything worse. great read by durrr but also extremely a poorly played hand by Sammy

  • @onlyweatherlol93
    @onlyweatherlol93 4 года назад

    To add further context, Sammy afterwards said if he had a flush he would call the shove instantly... A clear mistake when Dwan is creditably representing a value range which has him crushed. Sammy George doesn't have any full houses in his range and I am unsure what flush Sammy ever checks turn with. If Sammy had a small flush, surely he bets turn for clear value and to charge Dwan to draw with a lone K or Q hearts?
    I also don't understand what merit there is to check raising A6 on the flop where Dwan has a clear range advantage

      dan4isaboss Exactly, flop bet to protect against AKQJ hearts that could flush higher later, then value bet on turn, the shove was a little weird since the pot was 1/5 of durrrs stack and buy 100k with 500k isn't normal, a flush value bet would bet like 2/3 of the pot, but the guy was weak by the point of checking river and durrr had no mercy.

  • @dochmbi
    @dochmbi 8 лет назад +4

    Durrr is repping 66 JJ AA, A3 , 63 and I guess some J3 (though i imagine this hand mostly checks back flop (its medium strength and doesnt need much protection either). He can also rep flushes, depending on how capped sammys range is when he c/r, then c/c, then c river. Durrr is overbetting huge OTR though so getting yourself valuecut by shoving into sammys trap would be a pretty big disaster for someting like a low flush.
    Given that Sammy did in fact check turn with his two pair, it is conceivable he would also do so with a set that he c/r the flop with, therefore wen can conclude that he can have some boats in his range. How many those are, and how wide sammy would also call with his bluffcatchers, would have to be carefully evaluated with math to see if valueshoving high/low/mid flushes here is good.
    I think that sammy has one of the better bluffcatching hands he can show up with here, with blockers to many potential boats. I wonder if sammy would prefer this A6 for a bluffcatcher here as opposed to something like Qh8h? But yeah, looks like an interesting hand to work through with Cardrunners EV.

    • @ericcollier8769
      @ericcollier8769 8 лет назад +3

      +dochmbi Does a 6xBB raise preflop rep A3, 63, or J3? I don't think so

    • @kevinscottbailey8335
      @kevinscottbailey8335 8 лет назад

      He's trying to rep AA, JJ, 66, KhQh, and Kh10h. A3suited. Sammy should basically eliminate AA & A3, because of the Ace in his own hand. That leaves Dwan completely polarized between JJ/66/KhQh/Kh10h and a LOT of bluffs. Sammy has to be right over half the time to call, though, which makes it tougher. In the end, I hope I'd have found a way to a call here--based on the fact that Dwan has maybe 4 hands that beat me & a LOT more that don't--but who knows what we'd do in that situation, really? That's a BUTTload of money to risk.

    If you know your opponent is weak why would you overbet the river ? A full house or even a flush would value bet that river to get value.

    Bluff is not about the moment you bluff. The video should cover all the game to understand the psychology of the players.

    If you are going to be intimidated by pot size, you are playing for too high stakes.

    It's either JJ or a bluff? 🤔 he blocks aces he blocks 66, 33 is unlikely, hen blocks a6 and a3.... only thing he doesn't block is JJ lol.. wut

    Over-betting a pot is the surest sign of a bluff. These guys get up in their heads too much, if he would of just played poker basics, he'd of been $500k richer.
