"Not super layered, professional strategies - it's something you can apply in blue ranks."
Love this, Thank you. Great idea to speak to us intermediate players without making fun, but still interesting and entertaining to the general audience. You really have become a unique and consistent Tekken content creator that I hope influences the rest out there (I think you already are).
It's crazy that intermediate became blue ranks. They royally screwed the very defined differences between ranks and skill levels.
A good player used to be around genbu, up to suzaku. anything above was a really good player. Intermediate were warriors up to overlords. and that emperor kazuya is like my destroyer/savior Kazuya.
great stuff!
clearly explained and expertly demonstrated. obviously there's a ton more to Jin but this functions as a really straightforward basic guide
I'd love to see more of these
Absolutely amazing.
Usually guides just hand you a couple of key moves without much of a game plan around it and this really shows you how to flow between your moves.
I hope you can do a bunch more characters (I'd love one for Claudio and/or Bryan) and I hope you do something like this for Tekken 8 characters too once the game releases.
“It doesn’t take any crazy execution to do this” while correctly inputting like 30 electrics in a row
😂😂
To be fair, at that level you'd expect to be able to do electrics without any effort
@@justinli826
You're out here idealising top level players.
Try tuning in on more streams and see how a lot of them can only play their character at a godlike level and their secondaries play like Blue Ranks at an execution level.
@@UltimateBallaPOMYou clearly don't play Mishimas. Orange ranks can throw electrics effortlessly, how difficult do you think they are? It's a staple move regardless of the fact that it's a just frame. Someone who's been playing for like a year can achieve this level of execution.
Now if you're talking about someone flawlessly executing pewgfs, tjus, having extremely fast wavedash, doing instant running or while standing moves, that's what you'd consider crazy execution. What phidx is doing here you'd see from orange to red rank Mishimas. That's why he says it doesn't take crazy execution, he's not even doing wavedashing into mixups. Electrics are effortless bruv.
Please continue doing this. You are becoming the go-to creator for intermediate players looking to improve
Hell yes, I love this. I picked up T7 two months ago and have been learning Jin. It’s been challenging but I’m also having a blast and am hungry for as much perspective on Jin as I can get
Master the fundamentals of Tekken and then Jin will make sense to you.
I actually really enjoyed this style of making content because it's almost like a Tekken School Lesson 😂 but it was extremely entertaining Please do this more🎉
The live commentary and real time implementation of your points was awesome.
Looking forward to more in the future!
These videos are incredible, please keep them up.
Hearing your thought process as you play (which, by the way, is an amazing feat for you to pull off!) is invaluable and really helps me see what kind of inner monologue/appraisal of my opponent's tendancies I should have going in a match.
I've just taken the baby step of consciously varying my attack timings thanks to your recent videos and the results have already been really encouraging.
You da best!
I particularly like how you talk not just about what options your opponent is favouring, but *why* they might be favouring them based on the options you've been presenting a lot.
Players talk all the time about 'oh, this guy seems to like doing X' but don't really vocalise how that's impacted by the opponent actively trying to download them at the same time.
It’s interesting to hear simultaneously your game plan along side you analyzing your opponent and it be so well thought out as quickly as possible in just one round, then adapting to how the opponent changes throughout the set makes some entertaining content. Hope you make more videos like this, coaching by example helps me get better and probably others as well.
Best thing about Jin he doesn't even require the precise execution on electrics to launch punish like Kazuya, he can just hopkick. Bamco really tried their best to give the main character all the tools. And then some in t8 lmao
unlike electric, hopkick has no tracking and is punishable on block rather than plus, making it a riskier option in non-punishment scenarios
cancans functions better than hopkick as a block punish, but is even riskier due to its launch punishability. hopkick is generally better utilized as a low crush launch tool, where cancans functions as the primary i15 block punish
having the choice is certainly nice though, not gonna lie
@zyklqrswx If theres one weakness i want my block punishers to have, its what they are on block.
When the hell are you blocking cancans unless the Jin player is on some kind of substances XD
@@Niforseme personally i do cancan on block, its funny af in light blue/green ranks. but thats only if i remember i have that move otherwise i electric
@@Niforse exactly, that's right
as Jin's most powerful natural hit launcher, cancans is rightly launch punishable itself, but a skilled Jin will never use it in a situation that would give the opponent that chance since it's so unsafe to do so
accidents do happen though. if Jin is one frame late cancanning a -15 move, or attempts to block punish anything safer with it he's guaranteed to get launched in response
jin players talking about their character like theyre going through the library with a bunch of children telling them the struggles of the online jin
absolutely love this style of educational character-specific teaching. more please!
Just got interested in Tekken because of the recent Tekken 8 stuff. As a new Jin player this great guide on how to play the character! More character guides like this when Tekken 8 drops would be sick! 👍
welcome to the game, good luck out there and don't give up
probably one of the best guides ive seen , cant wait to watch these for tekken 8
I like these kind of videos from tekken. We get frames, punishing and all that jazz but sussing out the optimal play for a character would be ideal for anyone really wanting to go to the next level. When you have all that knowledge it’s up to the player to execute it best as possible!
Dude what a great format! Its very informative while being short. Love it. Also looking forward to more of those for other characters, especially bryan!
Awesome content. For everyone asking for their own character, keep in mind that the same principles apply across the roster. I'd like to see this applied to any of the more high risk/high reward characters if anything.
Keep it up man, your channel's gonna be huge soon enough.
I don’t comment too often, but I figured I’d tell you how much I appreciate these videos.
The delivery of the information is organized and concise, and really gets the main ideas out there efficiently. Also this type of information can’t really be found anywhere else on youtube and your videos have helped me improve as a player.
Keep it up bro
JIN VID LETTSS GOOOOO
The only weakness Jin has is his oki isn't overly ridiculous with ground hitting launching mids that cause flip like 50% of the cast has.
yes and no; if you try to wake up with a button, you're open to f4 and ewhf or cd1 whiff punish. D2 is enough damage to pose a threat to just staying down, it just doesn't loop.
The nasty part is Jin's offense prefers that your opponent is standing
Jin actually does have some pretty nasty oki if you set it up right. the kazek setup, for example
I really enjoyed this.
I started a couple weeks ago with Steve, and I just decided to branch out and try Jin and Hwoarang.
I certainly can't dish out electrics like you, but I'm finding your videos incredibly helpful to learn how to play Tekken in general, and when I'm lucky like this, also a character I want to learn :)
can you cover Eliza? I'm struggling cracking turtles who sidesteps blocks. magic 4 and down 4 is risky with low reward on normal hit. and df 3 is slow. Also, backdash seems to just beat any low attempt and Instant dk gets beaten by sidesteps and backdashes. Moonglide to catch up to them is just too slow and gets launched. I don't think eliza has a real 50/50 with d3 dpe. (or I can't get people to press into me)
this was really awesome stuff thx PhiDX! Really enjoyed the simple jin breakdown for of his core moves/gameplan
"my execution is terrible" as i proceed to not see a single wind-hook-fist
Absolutely lovely and concise and all while playing in real time. And also the ultimate disrespect to that opponent for doing a lesson live 😂😂
i havent commented on youtube in like years so you know this one is big phidx, make more of this content! ya! its so so useful
That *Kazuya* Kazuya has no chill.. Man here is tryna make a point and doesnt let him cook.
Your analyses are really on point and effective, thanxzz
Really did enjoy this! Im amazed at how calmly you just dismantled the opponent and I didnt even recognize that is livecom until the middle of the video😅😅 great stuff!
Such a good video series! Should be an instant sub for a lot of people
As a Jin main that was contemplating dropping him entirely for devil Jin (I play both and Lidia)this was really helpful
super new tekken, even though so much is going over my head it’s so awesome to have such informative content
Just got the game a week ago and thought jin was cool, thanks for this neat video, earned a sub too!
bro this ocntent is killing, keep it up
Thanks for making this video! I’ve been looking for something like this ever since I started learning how to play back when t7 first launched. Back then all the tutorials were just the same but no one really broke it down how you did and I think that’s what made me not really think going into matches and just go straight into auto pilot with the electrics/f4 etc. I didn’t really plateau until I hit the high blue ranks then stopped playing after s4 dropped being burnt out from non stop grinding.
all these videos lately have been great. keep it up nerd
Absolutely love these breakdowns with the info on the overlays.
really like this style of content, with this type of format you are my go to next to blastedSalamai
I like the fact that you actually teaching your opponent too
This a dope concept ! Would love to see as many as you're up to make.
Man these kind of videos helping me to rank up. I really struggle with players that block all the time against my bryan
Please keep doing more of these vids. They're so informative!
At this point, do a "PhiDX Academy" lol
Great stuff
this type of content is soooo valuable. as a lei main i was looking for some of the greats to talk about approach, how to set up offense, defense, how to use lei effectively. But all i could find was just people playing the game..... you should do this as a series with guests and do the whole cast.
Nice video, great breakdown on a few options being super high coverage/effective
Phidx this video and commentary just prove how high level you are and the mindset of pro. Please can you do more videos like this with commentary and your mind set.
??
That's all of his videos already though?
Yeah, another great video. I could watch your videos all day. As long as you keep making them, I will keep watching and saving them. I need to dust off my Jin defense anyway. He will be a menace in T8.
I was looking for some jin gameplan guide i started to main him few moths ago , i love him , thanks for the guide
You said something about how your opponent is too concern with what he wants to do and not what you're trying to do. That made me realize I'm hella guilty of always wanting to be the oppressor.
Incredible video and I can completely understand the mental strain it must take to commentate at your analysis level while playing.
That said, we love it!
Shoutout the kazuya for helping out with the demonstrations. They're a real one.
love this, kazuya next
This is my favorite thing, please make more 😊
Love this type of videos. More of this Phi. Thanks!
As a player who is new to fighting games, the youtuber who can do great tutorial video while playing and talking casually is really impressive to me.
As a beginner this helped me more than like 90 percenr of the other jin guides out there
Great content! Please make another of this The best way to play (objectively) with for characters.
this video is basically a flowchart ken meme but a jin version
Loving this. Been playing tekken for a long time but not improving as I have no idea how to approach the neutral. This video was very instructional.
Your commentary is very clear Phidx tanx for the Vid. U made me to understand how to use Jin basically
Love this, hope you keep it up!
This is some quality content dude, would love more!
Definitely keep doing these. It's always useful to get into the mindset of a different character. Zafina next please 😂
Watching such videos is very interesting please continue making them
this format is a great way to learn tekken
Bro the fact that you can make an analysis video while playing in real time is nothing short of impressive. I'm jealous =)
haha it takes awhile... the steve one took like 3 hours to nail. would be easier to record and commentate after but i think the live has some value
love this format! would be cool to see a video like this with a character you're not as good at with, to see how you go about it
I need more of these, I suck at gaining information when I play all fighting games to an extent.
You're killing it Phi!
Doing this video with yoshimitsu sounds like a challenge.
I'm a simple man, i see PhiDX video, i watch.
I see PhiDX playing Jin, i squee
Great video man.
Thanks, I like this video style! Can you do Dragunov next?
High quality high level content as always keep it up phi
i did not understand how to play jin at all this was very helpful
Definitely do more of these. super entertaining
i would love to see these type of video for tekken 8!
Great content! Thank you.
Very well done. Please I'd like you to review Azucena as the first character when Tekken 8 releases 🙏 And great recovery on the last fight 😂💪
This is awesome. We need more of this.
PhiDX I’ve been loving all the videos you’ve been doing lately. Was curious if you would be interested in a movement guide. Idk why but your movement looked so good in this video I want your more deep insightful thoughts on it and home to hone it like you’ve have
I like the content, keep doing it we trying to learn. Im not very technical i just love Tekken n content like this teaches me a lot. Thanks bro...
continue this in T8! As an aspiring blue rank i will learn vicariously through PHIIIII
Hi PhiDX,
I love your content. Your thought process while playing the game is very helpful. Especially the best moves of a character. So my question, will you do a video about Lili or Nina. I want to see your aproach to these chars. I want to learn some stuff about the chars I play. (You already covered DVJ and Jin)
I don't have a Lili or Nina unfortunately, and I'd rather not mislead anyone, but I can do it for T8!
Thank you Dad.
Wait! You were playing?! I thought it was recorded! You're insane!
Really needed this-- I've been struggling to come up with a proper game plan as Jin
Also is there a use for Jin's b3? It's the same speed as his f4 but has much less range
@@YOLO22272 since it has less pushback, it allows you to stay in close range if you want to continue pressuring
it also leads to different combo routes that can offer more damage and potentially better carry, depending on how you pick up from launch
may also have slightly better tracking, though both b3 and f4 will track very well if you have enough plus frames
@@YOLO22272it’s good after a reset also against parry moves
Also 7 has a lot of high crushing, ch and even normal hit launchers that beat Jin’s stronger options and slip some of his mids.
great stuff phidx
can you do this kind of breakdown but with claudio?
This is could be the start of an amazing series.
Time to put all this knowledge in practice
Keep up the amazing tekken content 👊
In this rotating offence list, I would just add db4 for some low pressure and timing change/ss button counterhits, b2,1 round ender or longer reach delayed timing, Change up with f4/f4 zen pressure and df1 for the ssr duck or fast mid check with possible wall splats. Got Jin to TTG with just that with below average execution or any deep situational knowledge. I don't even consider him in my top 15 characters.
Great video!! I love your explanations. I'd love if you did the other side of this too, a video on how to navigate the keep out of a good Bryan would be a live saver
You should do a follow up video to this to the ultimate challenge . Jin through green ranks. Harder then you think
This was great!! Every jin guide I see is way to overly complicated and filled with unecessary fluff. It was nice to get a basic effective guide that you're able to demonstrate works.
Awesome video and just in time! I'm a Heihachi main about to pick up Jin since hei won't be in T8 and Reina might be too different. Does Jin have any good moves with plus frames though besides electric? I'm really going to miss the sheer oppression of heihachi...
i love this kind of content, you got one subs
Really interesting format
Good video, lessons seem helpful even if you’re not a Jin main
Would love you see this style for more of the more underwhelming characters like Draganov/Armor King. Love the content per usual🔥🔥
