@PhiDX wish more streamers were like lil Majin 😪 smh full set losses on his channel. That's character letting ppl know he's not invisible but he's still great. Try it
@cbriggsmkx1436 get off lil majins dick. You and I both know he wouldn't appreciate appreciate saying this sort of garbage on other people's channel. Majin is too respectful and chill of a person to say what you just said.
I need more of this content! I've finally graduated from learning how to play my character and now I'm starting to learn how to play "Tekken". This is a great intro to what higher level people are thinking when it comes to playing the game. Thanks Phi
I not only respect your high level gameplay, but the fact that you can give such an informative commentary at the same time too! Keep up the great work man, you’re a godsend for the tekken community.
These kinds of videos are the best because its good to know why you're doing the moves and helps people by giving an example of what to look out for from certain characters
Yeah, if you watch the gameplay frame by frame, that mid punch did not reach the actual Lily character at all, the range of that punch is beyond ridiculous
Man those were some good matches. That really was a good Jin you were playing. With that said, I really liked how you game planned and adapted to how he was playing against you! Great Tekken from both of you guys!
As someone who have recently picked up Jin, your commentary in this video was also super helpful from his perspective. Awesome as always Phi! Definitely best Tekken youtuber rn.
I really like to see more videos like this. What you see them doing, how to adjust to it, matchup things. If it is too intense doing while ingame, voicing it later is fine.
Funny this came out the day after fighting a really fundamentally strong and aggressive Lili player in purple ranks yesterday. I'm a Jin main myself, and I felt kinda helpless as she locked me down from doing my safe mid range stuff by being comfortable in my face with pokes and mix ups side steps. I did okay, but in the end it was a no contest. Yes I have a lot of safe stuff, but not much to maintain point black frame advantage. The balls to just matterhorn in my face was godDAYUUUM!
Ever since this update i can't use anything so much of my stuff is dropping nowmi had to change combo routes and change my oki timing and everything. The fact you have just adapted to the change in mechanics is crazy respect Phi 👌💯
if you rewatch and read chat at moments the chat was going back and forth naming wrong characters and anime. I was with you at first when I saw it too. very funny imo tho.
I gotta start trying to predict what my opponent is likely to do as shown in this video. Aside from the obvious stuff, I play without really considering what the other person is likely to do in specific situations. It's especially hard against characters that I don't have a good grasp of what they're capable of
This is exactly why high level players recommend labbing against characters you feel the weakest against. If you watch your replays and try to determine which moves you’re getting hit by the most, then take those moves to the lab, you can develop a better muscle memory against specific moves that you can apply mid match
One tip I have is ALOT of people have patterns; even in high level they have patterns; watch out for what moves they like to do after certain things ie; knocking you down; moves after power crushes are also another thing alot of people tend to have the same 2-3moves or combos they will do after a power crush etc. by learning their patterns and tendencies you can have a better idea on what might be coming next in their mixup.
Same, I'm hardly thinking of what the player or even the character is capable of. I think more about which of my tactics aren't working and what haven't I pulled out yet. Is it working? Do it again. Not working? Do it again anyways. Oh shit I'm dead, let's try something else now, jk I'm doing it again.
New to the channel but i really like your content. I see you post alot of content like replay reviews/warmups and other advice that you generally give around improving at the game. Idk if you've done this already, but posting a video as to how you actually go about labbing out a character to play against them might be helpful. You might have a more effeciant method you might able to shine light on. Going through a movelist flat out can be a bit daunting for some.
What caught my attention is when Phi said you side step to avoid the retaliation. Side stepping is something I just haven't been able to grasp in this game yet. Is there typical move types that are easier to side step? Like possibly something like when you know someone is going for a mid launcher vs jab pressure? I'm trying to understand what moves I should be looking to read in order to get a side step punish.
I watched it twice to get some idea, but I got pissed because my main was beaten in a really good way, I enjoyed how the game was being dissect real time. More pleaaaase :>
This was a great type of vid man, maybe it could be a future series of shorter-ish vids for brief insights on matchups? The streets needs a "NO MORE JUN" vid
I stg I learn so much from your analysis. Just made it to red with my main still have alot to learn but adopting your mindset of "focusing on learning over winning" has helped alot for my enjoyment and growth. Keep on being awesome Phi❤
I started playing with Lili thanks to you. you changed the way I think and I managed to get to migthy ruler. I would love to learn more things from you, why don't you make a guide on how to deal with each character with Lili?
What’s happening is, Harada wants to introduce more guest characters in the future (like akuma in tekken 7). But those characters are too good in a tekken game! So now in tekken 8, our home favourites like Jin will play just as well against Evil Ryu or Sagat if they ever come across to tekken 8
How do people figure out the anti-(insert character) strats?😅 After I lab a character, my solutions against it are reactive solutions(sidestep to the weak side, option select stances and punish whatever is punishable or ducking moved), not proactive like in this case(my only exception is against characters weak to SSL, against them I spam Mach Kick because Bryan does a SSL before the kick).😅 Btw how to attack would also be nice.... I'm still very reliant on my defense 😅
Genuinely think Jin is the most complete character in the game - but doesn’t mean he should be nerfed or anything, he still has a decent level of execution + the lore should have some influence
Hey phi a cool vid idea would be discussing Jin's balancing it's a super interesting topic ngl cuz most ppl think he's OP when he isn't but he is strong
Fought a Jin that was easily one of the sweatiest Tekken players I’ve ever seen in my life. He also managers to parry like 90% of my lows and dick jabs. Seeing this guy collapse into turtle at this ranking is shocking. Can’t really blame him though. Lili is tough. That d2 though.
I just wish they would fix the ghost histbox of moves, I mean look at 0:33 and this happens with so many characters where their limbs / move lunges to begin with but then they added like 1/3 extra to the hitbox. Its so hard for me to gauge where I'm safe against certain characters because they do a random kick and it connects through the air molecules. Maybe I misremember but I feel like in T7 this was less of an issue than here.
I think it seems like a pretty good matchup for jin, lili is really good in this game, but jin's neutral is just better so he can press more, lili can't launch jin d2 either
Wow Phidx doing voiceover because someone commented that he is not playing seriously in the previous video of Phidx vs Mainmanswe. U got what u wished for man🤣🤣🤣
Smdh share your lost SETS like lil Majin I can't stand when streamers just upload there wining sets. That's why I damn near only watch Majin.
Dawg open up any of my twitch vods it's 99% losses 🤣
@@PhiDX fantastic

3:50 lmao looks like that alpaca got sent to the shadow realm by Jin :D
I need more of this content! I've finally graduated from learning how to play my character and now I'm starting to learn how to play "Tekken".
This is a great intro to what higher level people are thinking when it comes to playing the game. Thanks Phi
He was panicking hard at the end and even dropped his winning combo. Self control is so important in this game.
It's just stress from the extra difficulty of the match. These kind of nerves go away after a while, or should anyways.
Jin def whiffed that last round, should’ve ended the combo with b3 into zen then 3,4 😢
He was also respectful and choose not to mash lows
in game commentary is insane.
Fr ... Real underated

wtf you beat super saiyan goku

That was clearly All Might

that's Gohan not Goku
Lars is Goku
These kinds of videos are the best because its good to know why you're doing the moves and helps people by giving an example of what to look out for from certain characters
0:33, that mid punch hitbox is bullshit.
Holy shit, and i thought Paul df2 had a range problem
The wind a foot in front of Lili's shoe was hitting too.
Yeah, if you watch the gameplay frame by frame, that mid punch did not reach the actual Lily character at all, the range of that punch is beyond ridiculous
That was so cool to watch. You're commentary over the whole fight actually made me appreciate the interactions a whole lot more.

what a win, more videos like this, loved the insight going to try more poking and side step cancels against Jin’s now
I was a tekken 7 Jin main. Dropped him in 8 for Reina. But I won’t be able to play for a few months and I’m considering getting back on my bullshit
1:50 someone in the chat thought Jin was all might💀💀
They might be joking. It turns into a whole thing after a while. Somebody says its gojo from doraemon haha
holy moly, someone really thought that someone thought Jin was All Might
nah bro, that was Luffy from Naruto.
After Tori died, he's def trolling
if you rewatch and read chat at moments the chat was going back and forth naming wrong characters and anime. I was with you at first when I saw it too. very funny imo tho.
That was a clutch block at the end. So many Jins do that but it's still tough

nice, that was a really good set
Phi your ability to analyze and commentate while playing in real time is amazing
this is like the best format for an anti-char guide that ive seen yet. enjoyed this one a lot

The boxes in this game desperately need adjusted. That made no sense.

3:19 that was risky
LOVE YOUR CONTENT/ COACHING WITH LILYPICHU ❤
cool analysis
Bro embraced the unga spirit, like literally mash buttons faster than the other guy. Played defence = lost.
Tbh this is a really good strat against Jin. A lot of his key moves are pretty slow so he gets mashed out of them regularly
@@tabkg5802 Wish I could mash out of his stuff as Lars. He just beats me if I try that
@@dreamcastdazia4753 faster buttons should work. So df1 or jab. Maybe try to use your launching low (db4? Don't remember the command)

jin is strong, but in this current patch of tekken he’s not our villain. Looking at Azu, Drag, and Xiao
Is king out of the convo now? Agree Azu still too strong and Drag needs a damage debuff at the least
