    Hello from Muskegon, MI. Amazing finds! All are still on my bucket list. Your one hunt with those finds would have been the highlight of my metal detecting for the year. Incredible history.

      Muskegon has some fur trade history as well. I believe there was a French trading post on Duck Lake. Might be worth digging in to.

    Awesome! Your channel is now my favorite! I will be detecting a river right by me that was a fur trade route in the Solomon Juneau days.

    Emmet County? I have a parcel east of Harbor Springs in Conway near Crooked Lake. Jesuit Father Pere Marquette evangelized the whole shoreline of Northern Michigan, and I just saw an illustration how he portaged from Little Traverse Bay (at Petoskey State Park) to Round Lake to the East to embark of the inland route (likely back up to Mackinaw) where the King's 8th Regiment was later stationed. But yeah, these finds take my breath away. Subscribed.

      I hunt all over northern lower and eastern UP. The inland chain of lakes from round lake to crooked and on to Burt lake was heavily trafficked by natives and fur traders.

    I keep thinking that if you dig that stuff up a little sooner you would have found a body. Great video. I live in northern lower Michigan and have found a nice trade axe head with several jesowit crosses stamped into it

    Awesome saves! Do you ever find trade silver? I saw the brooches and that silver ring but I mean small cut pcs that have holes drilled in them that the natives would wear?

    • @Eric_Detectorist
      @Eric_Detectorist  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I find quite a lot of trade silver. Many cut into triangles for earrings.

      @@Eric_Detectorist ok I thought you might. I also have a spot that gives up similar items and lots of War of 1812 era buttons.
