Amazing Silver Fur Trade Metal Detecting Finds!
Great digs! Rk.
Top piece is a candle snuffer
Just curious where you look up your maker marks on your iron knife blades you find?
You are so fortunate to be in an area to find such great artifacts.
Thank you, while we don’t have the oldest history, we do have some very interesting history.
@@Eric_Detectorist I live in Maine and my European ancestors started coming here about 1600. No trading posts in my area though. Native relics show up now and then.
I got a lot of that Brown sanded soil IHP come out looking great
Thank you, my soil is very kind to coins and artifacts.
I found the old tomahawk, unfortunately mine only had half was broken off. I guess it was I mean, unless it was just one and they tied it like that you know it could’ve been just one. I used it. Let me know if you think it was used like that I appreciate your knowledge .
I find a quite a few broken tomahawks. In my experience many of them were repurposed into other tools, such as a hide scraper or wedge. Some were just abandoned though.
@@Eric_Detectorist thanks I found a beautiful old copper Xmas cup I heard it’s a rare find I found so much stuff I not even aware of of what it is

Congrats on your find and thanks for watching.
Thought I had some great permission s
They don’t come easy as you know, but I’ve been fortunate lately.
I don't know what I envy you more: the finds... or the beautiful, loose dirt! Here in East Tennessee, we have lots of red/brown clay and chert! Thanks for sharing your awesome finds with us!
Thanks for coming along, I have never detected in Tennessee but I remember that red clay soil. I image it is some tough digging.
What an awesome place to dig!!!! 😀 Nice days digging mate 😃👍⛏️
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching.
Really awesome finds! Rk.
Thank you very much.
Glad to see someone else knows what an ox shoe looks like.
I don’t find many where I hunt, but I do know them when I see them. Thanks for watching.
Great finds!
Thank you
Congrats I feel like you continue to top yourself what an amazing bunch of artifacts!!!!!!!
Thank you very much for watching.
Eric, thanks for showing all your incredible finds. I recently stumbled on a site and pulled two Jesuit rings, some musket pieces and a French flip knife blade. Just curious how you clean your finds to look so good in your wrap up? Any chance you would do a video on that? Take care and good hunting!
That’s a good idea. Perhaps this winter when I’m stuck inside. Congrats on the amazing finds. For the Jesuit rings I soak them in soapy water overnight. Then lightly brush away any remaining dirt. From there I soak them in baby oil for 24hrs. Then dry them and seal them in renaissance wax.
For the iron blades I use a variety of techniques depending on their condition. Usually I sand or grind off the heavy rust then soak them in evaporust for 24hrs, Dry and seal in wax
Thanks for the cleaning advice!
Heck of a hunt - tremendous finds!
Thanks much
Super finds cheif! Rk.
Thank you for watching.
Love 'em all the cup is something very nice! South of you I just dug a silver trade ring with interesting designs on a new river permission, planning on XRF scan. Nicely done ✅

Absolutely love your finds and so appreciate your efforts to share with me
Thank you for coming along with me.
Leave it on the root!! 🤗
I thought about it, but was worried it would rot away the iron.
Incredible finding so many great finds….wow 😮
Thank you so much
Check in a radius around that utensil handle??
I definitely did, unfortunately the rest wasn’t there. Probably melted down to make something else.
Awesome job
Thanks for the visit
You have some great spots lucky you
Thanks, it takes a lot of research and door knocking but it’s worth it.
I've found some really old and pretty rare shotshell headstamps. Your trash bucket could be littered with some
I used to save Ambrose but I find so many I stopped even checking them. Maybe I should start again.
Kinda funny u always find shit
Location is key. And I would say I only put on film what is worth watching I have had many weeks where I spent days with little to show for it.
Great hunt very awesome finds are you hunting on private property and how did you get your information on your sites I would love to know your tips cuz your always finding amazing stuff God Bless and happy dirt fishin…Virgil
I start by researching archeological references or historic research maps. I will use historic aerials and lidar to help find virgin landscapes then I ask permission if it’s not public land. A lot is also trial and error or luck.
Awesome thanks for sharing your tips I love watching your videos you find amazing stuff God Bless and happy dirt fishin..Virgil
How fortunate you are to be amongst such rich history! Absolutely love your finds. And the variety is crazy. I would have been going bonkers just like you! lol Congrats!
Thanks so much for coming along.
👍👍
Thanks
Another great adventure!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great finds. Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you very much.
The Maria Theresa thaler is one of the most recognizable coins of nusimatics. First minted 1780 and was minted with this date for many years to come.
Wow. I wasn’t aware. Thank you for sharing, I’ll have to check it out.
Awesome finds ! Beautiful historical tresures ! Congrats !
Glad you enjoyed. Thank you.
Another incredible hunt!!!!!!
Thank you for watching!
Some amazin finds
Thanks again
I love that serpert side plate and the Jesuit ring is sick
Thank you very much.
Your video format is a lot like Brad’s from green mountain and that’s a good thing. Keep up the good work!
Glad you like them! Thank you
I have found that working a site, and you think you have it all cleaned out, but then a lightning storm comes through and charges the ground and makes everything glow in the ground, so a place is never really all cleaned out!
I completely agree. I go back to sites multiple times, walk over spots I have worked multiple times and still find good targets.
I’ve done a couple of trips to England, and there they called the round broach with the pin, an annular broach. My brother lives in the Gaylord area and we have done some fun trips in that area. Thanks for your videos!
Very interesting and thanks for sharing. Good luck on your future hunts.
Okay I'm coming to Michigan I'm from Georgia and I bet you that good soil y'all got up there yeah it's better than digging this soil down here on Georgia red clay
Michigan soil does change drastically depending on where in the state you hunt. Lower and central Michigan tend to be more clay, UP has dark iron soil and shoreline areas tend to have sand. Good luck if you get out detecting.
I'm not authority at all, but that mystery copper object that's the hollow "cone" with the little "bracket"-ish thing on the narrow end looks a lot like a trecking pan. Sometimes the handle would fold, sometimes they wouldn't but looks like it was made to go onto a stick and be heated over a fire. Maybe that's what some of the rest of your copper slaw is... the remains of an old pan! hahaha. Great video as always. Wish I could come up and detect with you some day!
I think you could be correct. I would say late mid 1700s copper pan/kettle. Thanks for watching.
Hell of a day dude... seriously. New sub... P.S no need to guess the oil lamp date.... it's written on the winder the patent info
Thanks for the Sub and good call on the lamp date. I’ll have to go check that.
That was a cool watch fob, I think it has the great seal of the British Army.
Thanks for watching, and you are correct, that is the British Royal seal.
Nice brooch!
Thanks!
Great work Eric!!
Thanks!
Love those finds. Wow! I’m in Boise Idaho. The only way I could get stuff like that, would be fur trapping routes. Do you have any advice on how I could obtain information on routes? Historical Society? We have one near my place. Thank for saving. Those rings are super crude, cool,! All day, everyday. Marvin.
Thank you, I would recommend searching archeological sites, local museums, local library. All good ways to find early sites.
We find many oxen shoes here in New Hampshire. The one you found is in outstanding condition. Congratulations.
Thank you, this is probably only 120 years old or so, but the soil I hunt is also very kind.
Target rich environment you have! Awesome finds! Rk.
Thanks for watching!
