Great hunt as always. Thanks for sharing!!! May give your channel a shoutout in one of my videos. Our finds down here in middle GA aren't quite as old as yours! Hahaha!!!
Thanks for sharing those great finds! I am always impressed with all the history you dig up. Love those rings! I did well last week up there too. Found some copper culture awls and knife blades and 8 War of 1812 era US Military buttons. And a couple pcs of trade silver.
Congrats on the finds. Can't believe how well those artifacts come out of the ground for being exposed to the elements for over 200 years. I have never seen an oxen shoe in that good of condition just amazing. Must be the sandy soil.
Thank you, the sand here is very kind to the artifacts but they do require quick preservation as well. especially the iron and pewter or they deteriorate quickly out of the soil.
I’m blown away by your finds, I’ve detected most of my 54 years from Ohio to western Kentucky, Florida, Philly and North Carolina and never saw these items beyond the British coins. I’ve discovered a whole new part of American history. Thanks
Amazing stuff! My area should be loaded with stuff from this era. Can't find much of it though!! I can find 1000 years earlier....or 200 years later. Not where I want to be so I live vicariously through you! :)
I am often surprised where my sites are and aren’t. Some places have all the right make up for success and there is nothing. Others, the most unlikely spots, are loaded. Best of luck on your future hunts.
Dang it, SON! Your finds are making me jealous dude! I looked for over a decade for fur trade sites, they are extremely sparse in the Midwest further south. Now here in the Deep South I have found early French sites but they are not loaded like what you have. Just incredible. I’d like to give your channel a shout out in one of my videos.
Love those finds. Wow! I’m in Boise Idaho. The only way I could get stuff like that, would be fur trapping routes. Do you have any advice on how I could obtain information on routes? Historical Society? We have one near my place. Thank for saving. Those rings are super crude, cool,! All day, everyday. Marvin.
Eric, you have done it again. The relics you recover are so unique and different from other channels. You are saving history every time you go hunting. Great relics this hunt. The cuff links are super, the rings very nice and the figured broach is special. Thanks for taking us along. As always, keep up the good work.
I'm not authority at all, but that mystery copper object that's the hollow "cone" with the little "bracket"-ish thing on the narrow end looks a lot like a trecking pan. Sometimes the handle would fold, sometimes they wouldn't but looks like it was made to go onto a stick and be heated over a fire. Maybe that's what some of the rest of your copper slaw is... the remains of an old pan! hahaha. Great video as always. Wish I could come up and detect with you some day!
Okay I'm coming to Michigan I'm from Georgia and I bet you that good soil y'all got up there yeah it's better than digging this soil down here on Georgia red clay
Michigan soil does change drastically depending on where in the state you hunt. Lower and central Michigan tend to be more clay, UP has dark iron soil and shoreline areas tend to have sand. Good luck if you get out detecting.
Awesome hunt thank you so very much for sharing 👍👍❤️
Thanks for coming along!

We find many oxen shoes here in New Hampshire. The one you found is in outstanding condition. Congratulations.
Thank you, this is probably only 120 years old or so, but the soil I hunt is also very kind.
Target rich environment you have! Awesome finds! Rk.
Thanks for watching!
Your videos are great !
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Glad to see someone else knows what an ox shoe looks like.
I don’t find many where I hunt, but I do know them when I see them. Thanks for watching.

Thank you very much. The fur trade was a unique part of American and Canadian history much different from the westward expansion of early settlers.

It’s hard to surprise me, really. I feel kinda silly for not knowing about this.
Great work Eric!!
Thanks!

Thank you, I would recommend searching archeological sites, local museums, local library. All good ways to find early sites.

I think you could be correct. I would say late mid 1700s copper pan/kettle. Thanks for watching.
Awesome hunt great video of super finds.👍😳

Cool finds. Was there a Jewish settlement nearby?
There was a couple Jewish traders nearby, but not a settlement.
