thanks so much my 2005 61,000 pickup door just came off last night. at this age this sort of stuff is happening to me, I'll be watching your videos, thanks again
Just had this happen to me while our toddler was in the back car seat. luckily other side was all good and no issues but in that moment 😮. Thanks for showing a fix and alternate temp solution
The trick is to put the clip in the latch first and later put the rod into the clip. You do have to swing the clip up to clear the rod and once the rod is inserted, you swing the clip back and snap it over the rod to hold everything together.
That’s very true. I figured it out on the tail gate later, but the clips for the side door aren’t the same as the tail gate and I couldn’t get them to fit, even with the rod out. ruclips.net/video/Z0k6PnDWhG4/видео.html
They are not serviceable (they don’t sell the clips separately, just with the entire mechanism when I went in) so I tried bailing wire, but a sturdy zip tie would work best in my opinion ruclips.net/video/Z0k6PnDWhG4/видео.htmlsi=SpbSFjU78MWim3QO

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage hey thanks for the video, it helped me out for sure.... but they do sell individual and multi pack clips for this application ... they are called door lock rod clips and you can get them at advance auto for like $5 and maybe $7 for a multi pack... the multi pack part number is 75450.... its very hard to do if you dont take off the inside door panel... plus i also unbolted the door handle mechanism so i could have more room to get my hands in there.... plus like was mentioned its best to put the clip in first, than the rod.
Took me longer to watch this video than it did to fix it, this was EXACTLY what I needed to see. Thank you!
The internet is amazing. Thanks for the video!
Thanks! My top latch rod was loose, but I didn't want to wait for a clip, so I zip-tied it and it is flawless for free.99
I was having the same issue and came across your video. Thank you!! Very helpful 🫡
Great upload! Thanks, I knew some amazing person would upload a video detailing this...Good health to you and yours...:)...

Should I work on my engine first on my 99 cobra or should I work on the exterior ?
I would work on the engine. It can always drive how it looks
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage true It needs a lot of body work imma just focus on the engine for a good high performance alternator what should I get?
Kmj is good or mechman
Thanks alot for the door
Thanks!
Whats the name for that door clip.? Mines just did that 1 week ago. 🙏. Awsome video.!!
I went in today and they are not sold separate. I will do an update video, where I ran bailing wire to hold the rod in place. It worked like a charm
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage awsome man!! 👌

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage you the man!!! 🤙🙏🙏
this does not work on an 07 new body style.need help on new style
Whats the correct part number?
It’s not serviceable. You have to buy the entire door latch assembly
Where do you buy the clip and what is the name of it?
It is “not serviceable” I tired the tail gate clip and it was too big. I’m the end I used a zip tie or bailing wire
