Legit Viking vs Queen of Gambit
Botez gambit works. At 5:09 knight instead takes knight should go to c5 discover attack on the queen. If king d2, defending queen, rook to f2 check. Queen blocks it's free queen as white knight would be pinned to the king. So king must move away of the 2nd rank and knight takes queen for free, black is back the material with so much better position and active pieces, knight attacking pawn and threatening forks, rooks coming to 2nd rank and so on.
It's a nice thought, but no. After Nc5, the queen blocks, and it's not a free queen. Black never has a second attacker aimed at e2, and doesn't have enough checks to drive the king away. If rook takes the queen on e2, the king just takes the rook back, and White is ahead by a full rook.
@@glenm99 so knight to g3. If king connecting rooks d2, than rook f2 check, king has to go back to the first rank, knight takes rook in the corner for free. With so much initiative and plenty threats this should be winning for black.
nevermind I put it to the engine, winning for white. In that variation knight is not even free as queen check scoop up knight in the corner and it's not even the best move xD

A grandmaster that's usually FIDE rated about 2400, but scraped the GM title during a good run of form/luck.
