"I will not be farmed for content today" -Levy
**gets farmed**
>plays f3 and f6
>Loses both games
>doesn't play either f3 or f6
>wins
What did he mean by this?
There seems to be some sort of pattern at play. Something one shouldn't do...
It's one of Ben's mantras, "never play f3"
@@bauerch. Yeah, seems like it, but I can't quite figure out the specifis 🧐🤔 maybe Ben Finegold should say something about "stuff you should never do in chess" or "moves you should never play", I'm certain it would help not just the viewers but himself as well.
It's not about the elo it's about sending a message
@igorbednarski8048
Is mostly a joke. Every move can be good depending on the position.
F3 usually weakens your king (unlike c3 because the bishop can block that diagonal) and takes away a good square for your knight
imagine playing an IM while your stomach is fighting DEEEEMONS
glad to see Ben donating some rating points to help a struggling IM
Why are you so mean to Levy? He plays like a GM nowadays and is better than Finegold
@@cranexe9035 hilarious
@@cranexe9035 you could be a struggling comedian if you want to.

@@Morphysince94 Ben mf didn't even get to participate to get the best chess streamer award. Gothamchess has more subs (3M in yt) and is a friend of the world speed chess champion (Hikaru Nakamura if you ben fans didn't know) and he also won the best chess streamer award haha
Gotham is a gentleman because after getting two wins in a row he did not disappear but played another two games to make the match very fair and just!
lol he also got to 2800 the first time by beating levy. some things never change I guess
I appreciate that you used a Levy style thumbnail for the video.
🤪 - Levy
Ben lost all the ones he played F3 or F6 before the end game. Coincidence or justice?
and he sacrifices THE ROOOOOOOOOK
The classic and good ole lose 2 games then win 2 games tactic, played to perfection and boosted by a >2800 ELO achievement. A good day indeed.
To be fair, Ben already had >2800 before the mini-match
4:28 look at the chair, he's got beads
That final laugh killed me 😂
That last game was sick!
GM BenjaminFinegold played the move f3, prohibited by law in many countries. And he was duly punished for that.😉
havent seen it yet but I know Ill love it
Finally the collaboration we've all been waiting for.
Yes finally (for the third time)
Finished him nicely in the end
Ben Fiengold playing f3 and f6 in the same stream? Terrible.
Second game is craziest position I've ever seen for the middle game lol
Five connected pawns with an untouchable knight at the end
Rook blunder too. Imagine the scene at Gotham. That huge pawn chain manoeuvre earlier was impressive, and effective. 2/2 Glad I was ere to see this.
first game had some interesting looking positions
You sure showed him that third game 😮😮😮
0:29 I agree its quite hard to play bishopf4
in the last game levy wouldn't sacifice THE ROOOOOOK
Nice win 🏆
Is it comfortable for Ben to look at the screen at the angle?
go chess !!!
Yeii.. Rawrrr
But stay Ben...
GO Super Ben GM!
22:24 after Qh2, Qg7 intending Rh8, white in a lot of trouble
Ben you're the best!
I opened a pack of chocolate chip cookies last night and didn't eat a single one. Nice surprise this morning, along with this video.
That snicker at 23:04 😂
I don't use the expression 'riveting entertainment' very often. I just thought I'd mention that.
I don't use that phrase often either. And I thought I would also let you know that I probbably wouldn't use it to describe this video.
I usually cheer for Gotham but when I don’t it’s because he is playing Ben!
the poison rook...
Middle name Fine, last name Gold. Ben Gold. 00f3
at 16:49 is Nxf5 a move?
Instructive quality wins by the GM. Ben is a legend.
Phew! The rematch click button conveniently stopped working at 2 all. Imagine a GM losing to a lapdog IM, a GM!!
i love seeing levy getting destroyed, his losing expression is gold
Go Levy!
Ben was hungry. This wasn't a fair match. Challenge again after eating dinner! Adopted for sure!
He’s getting boxed in game 3.
Ben forgot his own rule in the first two games. He lost both of them
Fell asleep. Needed it.
THE ROOOK!!
Crazy Cabbie vs. Stuttering John
Scott the Engineer vs. Shuli
BIG
3:20 is this not a free rook for black?? Why does he take with queen and not rook?
Men, those goofy openings by Levy were really effective
How are they goofy
He actually has great opening prep, nothing goofy in those openings just they aren’t common.
1:44 the unthinkable…
0:46 jemig de pemig
That chuckle was great 😂
Did Gotham just blunder his queen? No comment, could happen to anyone.
Losing two times against a guy he’s constantly talking shit about? Kind of embarrassing
16:39 is it possible to sack your rook by taking on f5?
It only works if black takes, but black can go Qa1 threatening mate on h1 and the rook is still hanging
@@amitgalor oooohh true, I didnt see that long range move...
What's going on with Ben under his table? He's constantly shaking! And those facial expressions to go with it... quite unsettling, to say the least.
Before I watch I'd be slapped if Gotham beat ben, damn braves fan , broke my heart u losing to the other guy
gg
New to chess. Someone told me Gotham was a joke. Guess not.
6:55 what the f...6???
3:00 Why is he trembling that much?
Because he feels like Levi and other chess streamers are stealing awayviewership and therefore income from him. That's why he messed up so much the first two games, he totally hates this guy.
And then all of a sudden this guy comes into your stream and starts demolishing you when you're a GM😂
I can understand why he be shaking with anger
Or a vibrating chair, yeah probably just a vibrating chair actually
It's Karen giving hints through the beads.
@@johnybalohny lol
@@johnybalohny Its veganism
The truth hurts
Nice games...but I think we need a more commentary/explanation of moves to make it more enjoyable to the viewer.
Someone has a massive sense of self importance.
Sure...the perspective of viewers is completely irrelevant to a streamer. Good luck with that.
@flukey111 Ben has been streaming for like 10 years or more, I'm sure he knows what works for his audience and no one else has said anything. Go to chesskid for a few months and you won't need explanations when it comes to adult chess
@@flukey111 some viewers don't need someone constantly talking in the background to enjoy a game :)
do any of them get to be a river ?
Blunder like a Grandmaster!
10:49 Did Ben miss the Mother Of All Forks?
Don't think so, his king was attacked. And after the rook moved to f1 the fork was no longer possible.
The king is in check
Rxf7 comes with check...
At 10:54 you could have mated him if he didn't move close to his white pawn on g3. F2, Knight blocking forking king and queen and then your queen takes g3, mate.
Down with big Ben! Down with big Ben! Down with big Ben!
W
You can even beat IM, what kind of GM are you?
I am confused by your comment. Did you mean to say CAN'T even beat IM? They were obviously BOTH able to beat each other: two wins for the IM; two wins for the GM. Just because a GM loses to an IM does not mean he does not deserve to be a GM. GM's are still human and humans sometimes make mistakes. Ben's rating is 2800. That's phenomenal.
Whats the beef with you two?? Love both of you!
He is jealous of the money that levy makes a lot of GM’s are.
@@travischampagne3252 If that's the case... They should try making chess entertaining instead of being jealous.
@@Karlyr_ while I agree with you…. A lot of GM’s don’t
The Jobava London is not a sound opening. It's popular because people like saying 'Jobava'. "Oh yeah? I got jobava right here, dangling..." "Jobava so fat when she goes camping the bears hide their food". Jobava so fat, when she went to KFC and the cashier asked what size bucket she wanted, she said, "The one on the roof!". And so forth.
A lot of viewers don't seem to know GM Finegold is a lifelong student and grandmaster of the game - and we are lucky to have access to him in the generous way he makes himself and his work accessible to us. He'll probably have a line named after him someday. Just something to keep in mind. Oh and we love Levy too of course!
Whose we? It is possible to speak for yourself and not imagine you hold some representative position
I don't think there's a single person who watched that video and didn't know Ben is a GM, but whatever I guess.
Smith-Morra, Finegold Defense
Go levy rosswoman
Ben you need to turn off the vibrator on your chair.
Gotham is GM level or Ben is IM level?
Gotham is IM; Ben is GM.
A lotta levy haters in this comment section for no reason chess is all in good fun. Stop being ignorant little children
This comment section does not pass the vibe check
Correct.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but being a fan of both Ben and Levy, it seems to me that although they're both great players in both formats, Bens skills are probably more towards rapid time formats, while Levy is better suited for classical chess. Ben is best playing tricky attacking games. Levy is just pretty well rounded with a much better understanding of the game than someone as bad as me.
levy has a better understanding of the game than a GM, a GM who bumped shoulders with Kasparov? what are you talking about dude!
no i wont forgive you, yes you are wrong.
Blitz, Rapid and Slow chess are all completely different versions of chess and you play them with completely different strategies. You get individuals who are very good at faster time controls but get absolutely crushed by their peers in slower time formats (Hikaru, etc.) and then you have the reverse where someone can be really good at slower time controls but get crushed in faster time formats. Then you have the odd ducks like Magnus who aren't half bad regardless of time control
@@BMWE-hm7uz that’s not what the original comment said, the original comment only claimed that Levy is better at chess than the OP, which is probably correct
I think you got the names backwards. Levy won both games where he could launch a big attackor play tricky openings, which is better suited to fast time formats. Both times Ben won it was a slower, more methodical game, which suits a classical game.
Levy is much better blitz than classical.
Gotham gone ham and got him.
How can anyone make a stream this boring? Does he not care?
Hi I'm Gothamchess and you're not
Too weak too old
Terrible. Never play f3.
