Once I got mine last year, it changed a lot of what I could do. For more skittish insects, I could still get enough magnification without sacrificing my working distance. With beetles, resting dragonflies, and most spiders, the sky was the limit. I could even get closer to lizards with how good it works with the autofocus on minimum magnification settings on the 60mm.

I agree with you, this Rynox macro lens is a must-have for all photographers. And I also use Rynox 250. Amazing macro footage! A big LIKE from me.

I have them both. 250 and 150. 250 is also pretty good to make a wide angle lens close focusing on the spot, it can clip on the hoods of 25mm lenses and wider, and if you reverse the glass element it doesn’t vignette. The 150 I put on my telephoto when I am birding to take pictures of dragonflies, or I would put on a 40-150 and lets you do really nice closeups of stuff in a 3 meter range, really good for bumblebees for example, not as difficult as real macro in terms of depth of field. I was so impressed by their stuff at some point I got the end of lens teleconverters raynox makes, those were not as good.

I’ve been wanting to try some wide angle macro photography for a while now. I’ll try that out one day

Been on the fence with this thing, cheap as it is, because I've been perfectly fine with the shots I'm getting from my Olympus 60mm ƒ/2.8 Zuiko Macro lens. Went ahead and purchased it after checking out the website calculator you recommended. Thanks! Keep up the awesome work, man.
EDIT: Also got the step-up ring so it fits! Thanks for that recommendation too!

Oh, it's worth every penny. No drop off in quality and it still works really well with Olympus autofocus with the 60mm.

Thanks for your useful review, I'd wondered if the Raynox was any good, or if it was just a cheap slab of distortion-riddled glass, but it seems to work great. I can see maintaining a steady hand will be an extra challenge though. Great photos as always!

Great photos! I have a Raynox DCR-250 but still can't get the handheld stack to work - I must be making some mistakes.

Great videos. I love going out with the macro kit. Taking it slow and just relax. Probably looks weird with a guy standing in a field staring at a bush for two minutes, but who cares 😇
